The Effects of Training for Computer Skills on Outcome Expectations, Ease of Use, Self-Efficacy and Perceived Behavioral Control

  • Previous studies on user training have largely focused on assessing models which describe the determinants of information technology usage or examined the effects of training on user satisfaction, productivity, performance, and so on. Scant research efforts have been made, however, to examine those effects of training by using theoretical models. This study presented a conceptual model to predict intention to use information technology and conducted an experiment to understand how training for computer skill acquisition affects primary variables of the model. The data were obtained from 32 student subjects of an experimental group and 31 students of a control group, and the information technology employed for this study was a university's electronic mail system. The study results revealed that attitude toward usage and perceived behavioral control helped to predict user intentions; outcome expectations were positively related to attitude toward usage; and self - efficacy and perceived behavioral control. The changes in those variables suggest more causal effects of user training than other survey studies.

  • The tophead monitor is a dual screen monitor that concludes auxiliary monitor with size 6.4 inch on the top of monitor. The bottom monitor screen provide previous function in the same way as before and the auxiliary monitor screen is arranged contents of internet advertising icon, banner advertising icon, moving picture screen, mail icon, etc. If you click contents, contents is moved peristaltically with the bottom monitor screen. The dual monitor screen is controlled by mouse and keyboard in the same way as before.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the current development of Quick Response (QR) system and to identify factors related to QR adoption. A random sample of 250 apparel manufactures were selected from the Korean apparel manufacturers' list Response rate was 41% (m=102) A mail questionnaire was used to investigate the purpose of the study. ANOVAs and Duncan's multiple range tests were used. The results are as follows: 1. The most frequently used technologies were small lot orders and CAD and the least used technology is the electronic order system, 2. Firm size product characteristics(product category fashion change) and CEO's age were significantly related to the usage level of QR technologies.

  • 전자상거래의 인구는 매년 급속히 증가하고 있으며, 또한 전자상거래의 대다수 쇼핑몰 사이트가 패스워드를 기반으로 사용자를 인증하고 있다. 그런데 사용자는 이런 패스워드 기반 사이트를 방문하면서 보안과 안전을 고려하지 않고 패스워드를 만들어서 사용하고 있다. 이러한 패스워드는 사용자의 프라이버시의 침해와 개인정보가 노출이 되는 문제를 안고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 관리적 측면에서 패스워드를 해독하여 해독하기 쉬운 일반적이고 평이한 패스워드를 사용자는 mail를 통해 알려서 패스워드의 위험성을 주지시키도록 한다. 사용자의 패스워드를 알기 위해서는 암호해독 기법이 필요 하는데 이 해독기법을 빠르고 정확하게 하기 위해서 분산화 된 동적 작업배분방법을 이용한 병렬처리 패스워드 해독 기법을 제안하여 구현하였다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 암호해독을 하여 진자상거래에서 사용자가 사용한 패스워드를 안전하게 관리할 수 있도록 하고, 사용자의 프라이버시를 효과적으로 보호 할 수 있는 모델을 제안한다.

  • If neither a map, nor geographic-information processing equipment or a micro browser was prepared in a move terminal in the case of the old system, traffic guidance processing was not able to be carried out. Even if this system was required and did not carry out above -mentioned equipment or an above-mentioned system with a move terminal or a cellular phone, it could be made to do it. Traffic information guidance processing is possible to be completed only by the general telephone or electronic mail transmission.

  • The internet-based electronic commerce is considered as a new strategic alternative to boost competitiveness for small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs). However, very little research about them has been reported. Meanwhile, the cyber shopping shops in Korea are growing rapidly in their numbers, scales, and diversity of business models. The primary purpose of this study is to investigate the factors influencing outsourcing decisions in the implementation of small and medium-sized cyber shopping shops. Based on the previous studies on IS outsourcing, marketing channel, and their related theories, three areas of determinants(IT & organizational, product, marketing channel characteristics) were identified. Responses of 125 cyber shopping shops from e-mail survey indicate that IT capability, technical specificity of shop implementation, degree of product customization, average amount of order, marketing capability are negatively associated with outsourcing of cyber shopping shop implementation. The results also indicate that the outsourcing decision on systems implementation and marketing channel selection(direct/indirect selling) is performed separately.

  • 본 논문은 개인용 전자 비서 시스템을 위한 음성사서함의 구현에 관한 것이다. 기존의 음성사서함 서비스는 단순한 메시지 축적서비스에 불과하다. 제안된 전자 비서 시스템을 위한 음성사서함은 음성 정보를 관련 데이터 베이스와 연계하여 개인정보관리시스템에 활용할 수 있도록 한 것이다. 본 논문에서는 음성의 저장과 합성에 ADPCM과 LPC 음성 부호화 방식을 적용하였고, 음악합성에는 FM 음원을 사용하였다. 개인용 컴퓨터에 확장카드 형태로 제작된 제안된 시스템의 서비스 기능은 녹음, 편집, 저장 및 재생기능, 자동발신 및 메시지 전달기능, 동보기능, 자동수신 및 부재중 안내기능, 시보안내 및 음악연주 기능, 전화번호 및 스케쥴 관리등으로 구성되었다.

  • As the information society matures, an analysis on possible outputs of internet usage is needed. Thus, this study was peformed in order to understand the utility cognition and negative outputs of internet users. The method used in this study was a web-based questionnaire that was administered to the internet users. Five hundred married men and women were analyzed with a factor and a multiple regression analysis. Results were as follows: First, many kinds of internet usages - information searching, internet shopping, electronic mail, instant messaging, and decision-making dependent on internet information - were differentiated with age. Second, the altitude about the internet was an important explanatory variable in the types of internet usage. Third, negative outputs of internet usage were great in terms of information resource management and unbalanced scheduling in daily time spent. Fourth, utility cognition was affected by qualitative elements on internet usage more than the quantitative ones.
