A simulated wastewater containing the dye Rhodamine B (RhB) was electrolytically treated using a three-dimensional electrode reactor equipped with granular activated carbon (GAC) as particle electrode. The effect of type of packing material (GAC, ACF, Nonwoven fabric fiber coated with activated carbon), amounts of GAC packing (25-100 g), current (0.5-3 A) and electrolyte concentration (0.5-3 g/l) was evaluated. Experimental results showed that performance for RhB decolorization of the 3 three-dimensional electrodes lie in: GAC > Nonwoven fabric fiber > ACF. When considered RhB decolorization, oxidants concentration and electric power, optimum GAC dosage was 50 g. Generated concentration of 3 oxidants ($ClO_2$, free Cl, $H_2O_2$) was increased with increase of applied current, however optimum current for RhB degradation was 2.5 A. The oxidants concentration was increased with increase of NaCl concentration and optimum NaCl dosage for RhB degradation was 1.5 g/l.

Ammonia would be formed in natural gas containing small amount of nitrogen reforming process in the process natural gas, which might damage the Pt catalyst and Prox catalyst. In the article, the effect of nitrogen contents on the formation of ammonia in the reforming process has been studied. In the experiments, Ru based and Ni based catalysts were used and the concentration of ammonia in the reformate gas at various gas hourly space velocity was measured. Experimental result shows that relatively higher ammonia concentration was measured with Ru based catalyst than with Ni based catalyst. It also shows that the concentration of ammonia increased rapidly after most of the methane converted into hydrogen. Based on the experimental results to reduce ammonia concentration it might be better to finish methane conversion at the exit position of the reforming reactor to minimize the contact time of catalyst and nitrogen with high concentration of hydrogen.
The characteristics of color and COD removal for dyeing-wastewater using electrochemical reaction were investigated. >From the result, the removal efficiency of color and COD were increased with increase of temperature, decrease of electrode distance, increase of electrolyte concentration and increase of potential and these were obtained above 99%, above 75% within 30 min, individually. Cause of higher COD removal efficiency, it is more suitable that dyeing-wastewater is treated by electrolytic treatment prior to biological treatment. It is concluded that the electrolytic treatment of dyeing-wastewater can be used as the effective and economical method in practical treatment.
We developed an electroplating process of cobalt nanowires of which line-widths were between 70 and 200 nm. The plating electrolyte was made of $CoSO_4$ and an organic additive, dimethyldithiocarbamic acid ester sodium salt (DAESA). DAESA in plating electrolytes had an accelerating effect and reduced the surface roughness of plated cobalt thin films. We obtained void-free cobalt nanowires when the plating current density was 6.25 mA/$cm^2$ and DAESA concentration was 1 mL/L.
In this study, the alumina for gas sensor was prepared by anodic oxidation. It was stable thermally and chemically, and pore diameter and pore distribution was uniform. And the shape of pore was cylinderical. The aluminum plate was carried out by the thermal oxidation, chemical polishing and electropolishing pretreatment. The pore diameter, pore size distribution, pore density and thickness of alumina was observed with the change of reaction temperature, electrolyte concentration and current density. As a results, It was able to use for carrier because alumina which was prepared by anodic oxidationhas uniform pore size distribution.

Nickel Plating improves on the corrosion resistance of materials in acid and moisture environment. In this study, we investigated the surface morphology, XRD patterns and pole figures of the various types of Ni electrodeposits. The texture of Ni electrodeposits changed from <100> to <111> through <110> with increasing the temperature of electrolyte and the concentration of nickel ion. The texture of Ni electrodeposits changed from <100> to <100> after annealing. Also the <110> texture changed to the <√310> texture after annealing.
Laboratory experiments were performed to investigate the effects of various factors on the phosphorus removal by electrolysis with aluminium electrodes. The efficiency of phosphorus removal increases with increasing of voltage applied, surface area of electrodes and electrolyte concentration, and decreasing of electrode distance. The phosphorus removal was not affected by the connection number of an electric circuit. The amount of aluminium ion eluted from electrodes according to Faraday's law was 4.47 mg and the A/P mole ratio was 2.14 at the electric current value of 20 mA.
Gel type internal electrolytes were synthesized by varying hydroxyethyl-cellulose (HEC) amounts and their durability and conductivity were measured. The ionic conductivity decreased as the content of HEC increased thus the internal electrolyte containing more than 12% of HEC could not be used as a reference electrode. Based on durability test results, as the HEC amount decreased carrier density resulting in increasing of the amount of KCl coming out of the porous membrane. Therefore in order to use long time at ballast water treatment systems, we selected 10% HEC for gel type internal electrolyte. The resolution test for total residual oxidants (TRO) was carried out using the TRO sensor and the gel type reference electrode made of 10% HEC. A 50 mV potential was applied to the TRO sensor for 30 sec and changes in the current were measured. It was confirmed that the TRO concentrations ranging from 0 to 15 mg/L could be separated at salinity conditions of 0.2~30 PSU. The results indicated that the TRO concentration at sea water and at fresh water was successfully measured by the TRO sensor constructed with the reference electrode using gel-type internal electrolyte of HEC.
The purpose of this study was to observe the effects of the feeding physiological activity substance in Saururus chinensis Baill extract on the improvement of the blood glucose, electrolyte (Na, K, CI) concentration and lipid metabolism in the serum of streptozotocin (STZ, 55 mg/kg B.W., I.P. injection)-induced hyperglycemic rats fed the experimental diets for 5 weeks. Concentrations of blood glucose, total cholesterol, atherosclerotic index, LDL, LDL-cholesterol, free cholesterol, cholesteryl ester ratio, triglyceride (TG) and phospholipid (PL) in serum were significantly higher in the hyperglycemic group (group NSW), STZ (I.P.)+Saururus chinensis Baill leaf 3.5 g% extract group (group NSSL) and STZ (I.P.)+Saururus chinensis Baill root 3.5 g% extract group (group NSSR) than those in the control group (group Normal, basal diet+water). But the concentrations of blood glucose, total cholesterol, atherosclerotic index, LDL, LDL-cholesterol, free cholesterol, cholesteryl ester ratio, TG and PL in serum were remarkably lower in the groups NSSL and NSSR than those in the NSW, whereas the ratio of HDL-cholesterol concentration to total cholesterol and HDL-cholesterol concentration in the groups NSSL and NSSR were significantly higher than in the group NSW. Electrolyte and creatinine concentrations in serum were significantly lower in the groups NSSL and NSSR than those in the group NSW. The activities of aminotransferase (AST, ALT), creatine phosphokinase (CPK), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) in serum were remarkably lower in the groups NSSL and NSSR than in the hyperglycemic group NSW. However, no significance was found in the comperative effect of the groups NSSL and NSSR. From the above results, it was suggested that Saururus chinensis Baill was effective in the improvement of the blood glucose, electrolyte, glucide and lipid metabolism in serum of STZ-induced hyperglycemic rats.

This work dealt with the evaluation of galvanic corrosion rate in a corrosion cell having annular gap of 0.5 mm between carbon steel 1018 and alloy 600 as a function of temperature and boron concentration. Temperature and boron concentration were ranged from 110 to 300 $^{\circ}C$ and 2000~10000 ppm, respectively. After the operating temperature of the corrosion cell where the electrolyte was injected was attained at setting temperature, galvanic coupling was made and at the same time galvanic current was measured. The galvanic corrosion rate decreased with time, which was described by corrosion product such as protective film as well as boric acid deposit formed on the carbon steel with time. From the galvanic current obtained as a function of temperature and boron concentration, it was found that the galvanic corrosion rate decreased with temperaturewhilethe corrosionrate increasedwith boronconcentration. The experimental resultsobtained from galvanic corrosion measurement were explained by adhesive property of corrosion product such as protective film, boric acid deposit formed on the carbon steel wall and dehydration of boric acid to be slightlysolubleboric acid phase.Moreoverthe galvaniccorrosionrate calculatedusing initialgalvaniccoupling current instead of steady state coupling current was remarked, which could give us relatively closer galvanic corrosion rate to real pressurized water reactor.
