A Review of tension variation according to the geometry of distribution bars and a design of straight-shaped bar (일괄식 장력장치타입에서 장력분배바 타입별 장력변동특성 검토 및 직선형 장력분배바 설계)

  • In this study, the relation between the mtation which are usually caused by the creep of the contact wire, the bar geometry and the forces(wire tensions) for the triangle-shaped distribution bar and straight-shaped one in dependent tensioning device system is reviewed. According to the result a rotation of distribution bar in triangle-shaped one modifies the distribution of the tensions between the three wires hooked in a distribution bar. On the contrary, a rotation on the straight-shaped one leads to no tension distribution change. Therefore, to use the straight-shaped distribution bar instead of triangle-shaped one is recommended. In addition, the design contents of the distribution bar which will be used in electrification of Gyeongbu line are described in this paper.

  • This paper is studied on earth network configuration when common earth is applied to electrified railway system. And the permitted capacity of buried earth cable used for configuring common earth network and application plan of existing individual earth system when common em1:h network is applied to existing electrification line improvement are studied. For this, the configuration of common earth network is examined according to the SNCF regulation, and the interface between common earth and individual earth is analysed on the basis of the existing track circuit used in electrified line.

  • While performing the advisory services of the electrification of conventional lines for KTX(Korea High Speed Train), we faced the speed-up problem of catenary system for the existing narrow tunnel. To solve this problem, the new system, to be named "Oblique encumbrance tunnel catenary", was developed. This system is mainly characterized by a simple catenary type, a dual bracket, a oblique encumbrance, a small system height and the same bracket used for the radial tension load and compression one. In this paper, the basic concepts, overall system configuration and main points considered in a design phase for the ′oblique encumbrance tunnel catenary′ are described. Moreover, the detail design criteria and other contents like manufacturing pilot products and verifying the performance through a factory and site test are added.

  • Recently, the Korea National Railways (KNR) is undertaking a program of electrification of the existing railway routes. In order to implement the ongoing plan, KNR authorized a preliminary engineering study of its electrical systems. This effort included a comprehensive analysis of new grounding networks. The new grounding system runs in parallel with the rails and is connected to all metal structures such as rails, overhead protection wires and substation grounding grids etc., creating an equipotential ground network. This paper presents a study on coupling levels that can disturb signaling and telecommunications in adoption of the new grounding network The simulation for the study is carried out using Matlab software, Several different scenarios are analyzed, including the load condition and a few fault conditions with different fault locations. The induced potentials on the communication cables are computed. The effect of the buried ground wires is also analyzed by comparing the results with and without the presence of the ground wires, The results presented in the paper can be used as a reference for estimating coupling levels in similar rail systems.

  • In this paper, the details of electric traction voltages which are widely used for metro and mainline trains are presented. The problems encountered in catenaries, pressure of the pantograph pan, catenary contact cross sectional area, materials etc are well covered. Catenary height from the rail for main line, bridges, sheds etc is discussed. The catenary running details and switching of one catenary to another are explained. The dead zones in 3 phase grid as well as in DC are presented here. The pantograph structure, blades, shoes etc. for AC/DC EMUs are dealt. The schematic diagram for electrification systems used for railways are given and explained with typical electrical parameters of Indian Railways.

  • 유동대전 현상을 밝히기 위해 간단한 유순환 장치에 설치된 프레스보드관(pressboard pipe)을 통하여 변압기 유를 순환시키면서 기초적인 실험을 행하였다. 특히, 측정 전극에 교류전계를 인가할 때 이것이 유동대전에 미치는 영향에 대하여 고찰하였다. 측정값은 절연유내에 분포된 전하의 분리와 완화에 기초를 둔 이론적 개념으로부터 유도된 공식에 의하여 검토되었다. 유동 대전은 외부에 교류전계를 인가하는 것에 의하여 증가하는 경향을 나타냈으며, 이는 교류전계의 전기력이 계면부근의 절연유내에 분포되어 있는 과잉전하에 영향을 준 결과로 나타난 현상임을 알 수 있었다.

A Study of De-electrification Characteristics of Charged Body By Soft X-Ray Ionizer (연X선 Ionizer에 의한 대전물체의 제전특성에 관한 연구)

  • The technology for neutralizing static electricity by soft X-ray radiation has been newly developed. This technology involves ionization of gas molecules in the vicinity of a charged substrate to generate ions and electrons to reduce electrostatic potential. The ULSI device substrate and liquid crystal display substrate tend to get charged instantly to a high potential level when they are handled in the manufacturing process. Soft X-ray radiation is adequate in air or $O_2$ gas at atmospheric pressure. This newly developed neutralization method is effective to be superior to the conventional technique, i.e., an ionizer by using corona discharge ,in every aspect. The new method features excellent neutralization capability and is able to completely reduce electrostatic potential to 0 V within a short time. Moreover, this is a very clean antistatic technology free from particle generation ,ozone generation, and electromagnetic noise, which are problems in using the corona discharge ionizer.

  • An electrostatic passive neutralizer without HV power source has been used widely to reduce charges on insulators such as running plastic films, papers and cloths, but its elimination characteristics and safely have been hardly investigated in detail. Especially, an operation of the passive neutralizer depends primarily on the charged insulator and the elimination ability does not depend on only the neutralizer, because an electrostatic elimination is caused by corona discharges occurring between the passive neutralizer and charged insulator. From a reason described above, the purpose of this study is to examine experimentally the elimination ability of the passive neutralizer. Experiments were made on the corona discharges between the passive neutralizer and charged insulator running at high velocity in practical field to make clear the setting condition of the passive neutralizer for operating effectively and safely. Results obtained from field experiments are presented in this paper.

  • A study has been carried out electrical conduction properties of synthetic fluids No. 2 of KS class VII used for insulating and cooling the power device. BTA(Benzotrizole) as the streaming electrification suppressant additive is added to the oil, and the change of physical and electrical properties due to different BTA concentration is investgated. From the result of FTIR spectrum, it is confirmed that the absorpption peak in wavenumber 3400-3450[cm$\sub$-1/] is smaller and disappered by adding BTA to the oil. It is considered that the effective content of BTA is about 10[ppm] from the result of electrical conduction experiment.

  • 본 연구는 절연유가 금속 파이프 중을 통과할 때 흐르는 유동전류 특성에 대하여 실험적으로 규명하였다. 유동전류는 파이프 길이, 절연유의 속도 및 온도에 따라 변하는 것이 관측되는데 파이프 길이가 4-6cm부근에서 피이크치가 나타나고 유속의 증가에 따라서는 선형적으로 증가하며 그리고 유의 온도가 약 50.deg.C 부근에서 또한 피이크가 나타나고 있다. 절연유에 전하를 주입시키는 수단으로 코로나 방전을 이용하였으며 부코로나 대전된 절연유의 유동전류가 코로나 대전 시키지 않은 절연유나 정코로나 대전된 절연유의 것보다 큰 값이 관측되었다. 이 결과로부터 고체 액체 접촉시 액체중의 음이온이 화학 포텐셜에 의하여 고체 표면에 흡착된다는 사실과 유동전류의 방향 및 발생기구를 해석할 수 있다.
