Electrical Properties of Tungsten Oxide Interfacial Layer for Silicon Solar Cells

  • There are various issues fabricating the successful and efficient solar cell structures. One of the most important issues is band alignment technique. The solar cells make the carrier in their active region over the p-n junction. Then, electrons and holes diffuse by minority carrier diffusion length. After they reach the edge of solar cells, there exist large energy barrier unless the good electrode are chosen. Many various conductor with different work functions can be selected to solve this energy barrier problem to efficiently extract carriers. Tungsten oxide has large band gap known as approximately 3.4 eV, and usually this material shows n-type property with reported work function of 6.65 eV. They are extremely high work function and trap level by oxygen vacancy cause them to become the hole extraction layer for optical devices like solar cells. In this study, we deposited tungsten oxide thin films by sputtering technique with various sputtering conditions. Their electrical contact properties were characterized with transmission line model pattern. The structure of tungsten oxide thin films were measured by x-ray diffraction. With x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, the content of oxygen was investigated, and their defect states were examined by spectroscopic ellipsometry, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, and photoluminescence measurements.

PSTN/전용선을 이용한 비동기방식의 전자화폐 설계연구 (A Study of design ATM communication e-pay using PSTN/leased line)

  • The increase of vehicles stagnations leads to the increasing attention to the way customers pay and a large number of projects on electronic cash system. Transport system is comprised of a number of advanced technologies, including information processing, communications, control, and electronics. Recently many research on a system which provides contact in order to protect driver's vehicle passage have been carried out. And some potential problems from that system are being reviewed by electronic cash system. In this papers, we suggest RF protocol developing technology using the concept of electronic cash. ATM electronic cash developing is consist of component of pre-developed coin throw, integration of component using its, and production of more requirement-satisfactory ITS solution. Result increase 15~40% pre-type vehicles stagnations. Especially, we expect this proposed concept would be well adapted to our national environments.

분전함에서 이상발열 감지를 위한 광온도센서의 동작특성 분석 (Operating Characteristic Analysis of Optic Temperature Sensor for Overheat Detection in Panel Board)

  • 본 논문에서는 전기설비의 전기적 접속부 또는 전기배선 등에서 발생하는 이상발열을 감지하는 방법에 대해 알아보고, 분전함에서의 발열상태를 실시간으로 모니터링하는 전력설비 진단시스템에 사용되고 있는 광온도센서에 대하여 동작특성을 실험, 분석하였다. 광온도센서의 동작특성 실험을 위한 열원으로는 Black Body와 Hot Plate를 사용하였으며 각각에서의 열원의 온도변화에 따른 광온도센서 출력전압값을 측정, 분석하였다. 그리고 분전함내 차단기 단자에서의 체결불량으로 인한 이상발열 감지 실험을 기존의 발열 감지방법인 열전대와 적외선 열화상장치를 이용하여 실시하였고, 광온도센서를 이용해 실시하여 결과를 비교 분석하였다. 실험결과, 광온도센서의 이상발열 감지능력이 유사함을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 분석 결과는 향후 RFID형 광온도센서를 이용한 전력설비 진단시스템의 현장 적용에 있어 기본 자료가 될 것으로 기대된다.

The Electromagnetic and Thermal Properties of the Mn-Zn Ferrite for the Power Line Communication

  • The electromagnetic properties and thermal behavior of Mn-Zn ferrite cores for the blocking filter of PLC application were investigated as the function of additives. The highest density and permeability were 4.98 g/㎤ and 8,221, respectively and were obtained to the specimen with composition of MnO 24 mol%, ZnO 25 mol% and Fe$_2$O$_3$51 mol%, added MoO$_3$ of 400 ppm, SiO$_2$ of 100 ppm, and CaO of 200 ppm. The uniform grains were organized, and the microstructures were compacted due to reduction of pores in the specimen. The permeability was increased up to 13,904 as the temperature of specimen increased to 110。C. However, it was decreased precipitously under 100 over 110。C. The exothermic behavior was observed in the frequency range from 1 kHz to 1 MHz, and the maximum temperature of specimen was 102。C at 1 MHz. In the consequence, the Mn-Zn ferrite core developed in this research will maintain the stable electromagnetic properties since the temperature of ferrite core rose to 93 。C in the range of 100 kHz to 450 kHz bandwidth qualified for PLC. The blocking filters were designed for single phase and three phases using the in-line and non-contact core. The best attenuation ratios of -46.46 dB and -73.9 dB were measured in the range of 100 kHz to 450 kHz bandwidth, respectively.

Wireless Power Transfer System

  • This paper presents a survey of recent wireless power transfer systems. The issue of wireless power transfer is to achieve a highly efficient system with small positioning errors of the facilities setting. Several theories have been presented to obtain precise system design. This paper presents a summary of design theory for short range power transfer systems and detailed formulations based on a circuit model and an array of infinitesimal dipoles. In addition to these theories, this paper introduces a coil array scheme for improving the efficiency for off axis coils. In the microwave range, tightly coupled resonators provide a highly efficient power transfer system. This paper present san-overlay resonator array consisting of half wavelength microstrip line resonators on the substrate with electromagnetically coupled parasitic elements placed above the bottom resonators. The tight couplings between the waveguide and the load resonator give strong power transmission and achieve a highly efficient system, and enables a contact-less power transfer railroad. Its basic theory and a demonstration of a toy vehicle operating with this system are presented. In the last topic of this paper, harmonic suppression from the rectenna is discussed with respect to acircular microstrip antenna with slits and stubs.

승강기 Car용 고속응성 배터리 충전시스템에 적합한 제어알고리즘 (A Control Algorithm Suitable for High-speed Response Battery Charging System for Elevator Car)

  • As the demand for high-rise buildings increases, the demand for high-speed elevators is also increasing. In order to make a high-speed elevator, a method is needed to reduce the weight of the elevator's components, which is a constraint on the increase in speed. As a measure to reduce the weight, it is possible to remove the traveling cable for power and signal supply. Since the weight of the traveling cable varies depending on the position of the carriage, it is difficult to compensate the weight using the counter weight. The power supply is a structure in which a brush-rail type power input terminal is installed in the elevator hoistway to receive power in a contact-type manner while the carriage is moving. If a small-capacity ESS is installed in a passenger car, power can be supplied uninterruptedly inside the passenger car. A small-capacity ESS charging system to be applied to such an elevator system is required to perform several functions. First, the passenger Car must be able to charge as much as possible even during high-speed operation. A control algorithm with high responsiveness is required because charging starts and ends repeatedly by the partially installed input power stage. In addition, if the input-side line impedance is large due to the structure of the system and the response characteristic is increased, the stability of the system may be lowered. Accordingly, in this paper, we propose a control algorithm that has a stable steady-state output while having a fast response in a transient state. To verify the proposed control algorithm, simulation was conducted using PSIM, and the performance of the controller was verified by manufacturing a prototype buck conveter charger.

표면 미세가공에서 Al 전극 및 Al 미세 구조물 제작을 위한 습식 식각 공정 (Wet Etch Process for the Fabrication of Al Electrodes and Al Microstructures in Surface Micromachining)

  • 표면 미세가공 공정에서 Al 공정을 이용하면 Al 전극의 제작에 의해 접촉 저항이나 선 저항 등을 줄여 전기적인 신호 손실을 줄일 수 있고, 산화막을 희생층으로 사용하는 간단한 공정에 의해 Al 구조물 제작이 가능한 장점을 지닌다. 그러나 실제 공정에서는 Al 전극이나 Al 구조물이 희생층 제거 시에 사용되는 HF 용액에 의해서 부식되는 문제점이 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 사용되는 희생층 식각액인 BHF/glycerine 혼합 용액에 대한 PSG와 Al의 기본적인 식각 특성은 표면 미세가공에서 발생하는 구조적인 제한 조건에 따라 상당히 달라진다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 희생층의 구조적 특성과 Al 박막의 증착 표면 거칠기의 변화로 인한 식각 특성의 변화를 고려하여 실제로 표면 미세가공에 적용 가능한 혼합 용액의 조건을 조사하였다. 희생층 식각 조건변화에 따른 BHF/glycerine 혼합용액의 최적 혼합비는 $NH_4F$:HF:glycerine=2:1:2에서 가장 좋은 식각 선택비를 보이는 것으로 나타났으며 이 실험 결과를 실제 Al 전극 제작에 적용한 결과 Al 패턴이 희생층 식각액에 대해서 우수한 내식성을 보였다. 또한 Al의 식각액에 대한 내식성을 향상시키기 위하여 CMP 공정을 도입하여 증착 표면을 개선시켰으며 이를 Al 구조물의 제작에 적용하여 식각 특성을 분석하였다. 이러한 분석을 통해 본 논문에서 제시한 식각 조건을 이용하면 Al 전극과 Al 구조물을 표준적인 표면 미세가공 공정을 통하여 간단하게 제작할 수 있다.

주거용 15W COB LED 다운라이트 방열판 최적설계에 따른 열적 특성 분석 및 평가 (Thermal Characteristics of the Optimal Design on 15W COB LED Down Light Heat Sink)

  • 열에 관한 문제를 해결하기 위해 여러 개의 LED 칩을 1개의 보드에 밀집으로 배열한 COB(Chip On Board)에 관한 관심이 증가하고 있다. LED소자의 온도가 올라갈수록 수명이 감소하고 스펙트럼선의 파장이 본래의 파장보다 장파장 쪽으로 이동하는 적색 이동 현상 및 접합부 온도 상승에 따라 광 출력이 감소되는 큰 문제점이 대두되고 있다. 이러한 열 문제점을 해결하기위해 본 논문에서는 최적의 Fin 두께와 길이를 선정하여 15W급 COB LED 최적의 2차 방열판을 설계하고, 그 설계한 방열판과 15W COB를 패키지하여 Solid Works Flow Simulation을 통한 열적 특성을 분석하여 제작된 15W COB 다운라이트 방열판을 접촉식 온도계를 사용해 열적 특성, 키슬리 2430을 통한 전기적 특성을 분석하였다.

다구찌실험계획법을 활용한 기중차단기의 메커니즘 최적화 (An Optimal Design of a Driving Mechanism for Air Circuit Breaker using Taguchi Design of Experiments)

  • An air circuit breaker (ACB) is an electrical protection device that interrupts abnormal fault currents that result from overloads or short circuits in a low-voltage power distribution line. The ACB consists of a main circuit part for current flow, mechanism part for the opening and closing operation of movable conductors, and arc-extinguishing part for arc extinction during the breaking operation. The driving mechanism of the ACB is a spring energy charging type. The faster the contact opening speed of the movable conductors during the opening process, the better the breaking performance. However, there is a disadvantage that the durability of mechanism decreases in inverse proportion to the use of a spring capable of accumulating high energy to configure the breaking speed faster. Therefore, to simultaneously satisfy the breaking performance and mechanical endurance of the ACB, its driving mechanism must be optimized. In this study, a dynamic model of the ACB was developed using the MDO(Mechanism Dynamics Option) module of CREO, which is widely used in multibody dynamics analysis. To improve the opening velocity, the Taguchi design method was applied to optimize the design parameters of an ACB with many linkages. In addition, to evaluate the improvement in the operating characteristics, the simulation and experimental results were compared with the MDO model and improved prototype sample, respectively.
