Experimental study on cooling performance characteristics of hybrid refrigeration system in a heavy duty vehicle (상용차 하이브리드 냉방시스템 냉방 성능 특성 연구)

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the cooling performance characteristics of a hybrid refrigeration system in a heavy duty vehicle. The tested hybrid refrigeration system had additionally an electric compressor besides the present mechanical compressor for selective use according to the operating conditions. The applied electric compressor was a scroll type and with 18.0 cc displacement. In order to analyze the performance characteristics of the hybrid refrigeration system with respect to the cooling capacity and Coefficient of Performance (COP), other components, including two different types of compressors, were installed and tested under various operating conditions such as compressor speed and air flow rate of the evaporator. When the electric compressor was operated at 4,500 rev/min, the cooling capacity was about 4.0kW and COP was 3.5. When the mechanical compressor was operated, whereas the cooling capacity was higher than the electric controlled compressor, COP was lower due to the larger displacement and higher power consumption. To analyze the hybrid system operating characteristics due to reasonable cooling capacity with electric compressor operation, the mechanical compressor and electric compressor were operated by turns every 10 minutes under certain system operating conditions. Because surge pressure occurred when both compressors were switched on, the operating strategy required some time to balance the system pressure.

The Calculation Method of Shielding Coefficient of Neutral Line against an Induced Voltage by an Aerial Power Distribution Line Reflecting the Principle of Earth Return Current (가공 배전선의 전자유도전압에 대하여 대지 귀로전류 원리를 반영한 중성선 차폐계수 계산 방법)

  • To solve the problem of the excessive error caused by using a single value for the shielding effect of the neutral line of an electric power distribution line in the calculation of the voltage it induces in a telecommunication line, the general expression that was previously developed to reflect the mechanism of voltage induction by a distribution line with multiple grounds is employed in this paper to represent the relationship between the leakage current rates at each ground pole. In this way, the formula for calculating the shielding effect of the neutral line can be factorized against the unbalanced current flowing in the neutral line, which is the root current of induction. This shielding coefficient of the neutral line is not constant, but can vary when a range of induced voltages is generated in the whole power distribution line. The calculation method developed herein reduces the error rate to one tenth of that of the existing calculation result in the case of overestimation and increases it by 14% in the case of underestimation.

A Study on Various Structural Characteristics of 100W Linear Generator for Vehicle Suspension (차량 현가장치적용 100W급 선형발전기의 다양한 구조 특성)

  • Recently, the demand for electric energy has been increasing due to the spread of hybrid electric vehicles. In this study, to meet this demand, the ANSYS MAXWELL electromagnetic simulation system was used to compare the power generation characteristics of three types of suspension system that can generate electricity using energy harvesting technology. Next, the optimal design was determined for each model by using the commercial PIDO (Process Integration and Design Optimization) tool, PIANO (Process Integration, Automation and Optimization). We selected three design variables and constructed an approximate model based on the experimental design method through electromagnetic analysis for 18 experimental points derived from Orthogonal Arrays among the experimental design methods. Then, we determined the optimal design by applying the Evolutionary Algorithm. Finally, the optimal design results were verified by electromagnetic simulation of the optimum design result model using the same analysis conditions as those of the initial model. After comparing the power generation characteristics for the optimal structure for each linear generator model, the maximum power generation amounts in the 8pole-8slot, 12pole-12slot, and 16pole-16slot structures were 366.5W, 466.7W and 579.7W, respectively, and it was found that as the number of slots and poles increases, the power generation increases.

  • Load forecasting is needed to make supply and demand plan for a stable supply of electricity. It is also necessary for optimal operational plan of the power system planning. In particular, in order to ensure stable power supply, long-term load forecasting is important. And regional load forecasting is important for tightening supply stability. Regional load forecasting is known to be an essential process for the optimal state composition and maintenance of the electric power system network including transmission lines and substations to meet the load required for the area. Therefore, in this paper we propose a forecasting method using SARIMA during the 12 months (long-term/mid-term) load forecasting by 16 regions of the South Korea.

  • EHPS(Electro-Hydraulic Power Steering) is a system to generate the steering operation force from the electric motor connected directly to the oil pump. To optimize the manufacturing cost and efficiency of the performance of the steering system is very important. Until now, the development of the hydraulic system is implemented by the field test which needs a significant time and cost. In this paper, flow measurement of an external gear pump is performed. Then using the experimental results, an approximate model expressed by flow rate characteristics is proposed to calculate the discharge flow rate. Proposed approximate model is verified by comparing with the experimental data and AMESim results. As the experimental data and AMESim results agree well, the approximate model data can be used as an alternative to highly cost experimental procedure.

  • We have studied the effect of temperature and exposure time on the UV curing rate of Urethane Acrylate. UV dose has been modulated by changing the electric power, and temperature has been controled by coating rate and water temperature of the coating roll. Curing rate was evaluated by measuring gel fraction of the cured film. It has been found that effect of coating velocity on the gel fraction of the final film is predominant, but role of temperature of the UV chamber is negligible. These observations imply that exposure time of UV light is critical to have a fully cured film. To better understand the effect of design and operating condition of UV coater on the behavior of UV curing of Urethane Acrylate, we have also conducted heat-flux analysis of UV chamber.

Development of Local Ground Pantograph for Power Supply to Wireless Mountain Trams (무가선 산악트램 급전을 위한 지상 집중식 급전장치 개발)

  • In domestic mountain resort areas, a catenary system cannot be installed for the protection of the natural environment and view. Therefore, mountain trams must be operated wireless. In this study, a local ground pantograph, which supplies electricity to the battery on board, was developed for this purpose, and its performance was verified by tests. The system is installed on ground at stops or repair shops. While a bogie goes to the pantograph, the arms and collection shoes are raised by a spring force to make contact with the collection bar under the bogie so electric power can be supplied to the battery. Because it is a local ground type, it does not require a roof pantograph and catenary system. The system enables the mountain tram to run wireless. In addition, there is no separation and arc because it collects current while standing at stops or shops. The system has a long life because moving contact, which generates wear and damage to shoes, is avoided. The insulation resistance was above the criteria of 10 ㏁, and there was no abnormal temperature increase when a current of 335A was supplied for one hour.

Therefore, in this study, I wished to quote plan for efficient and desirable Vietnam advance strategy establishment regarding our country enterprise's Vietnam advance through economy, politics, social environment analysis. In this study, can do on the basis of Vietnam advance connection domestic?outside literature investigation and virtue study through theoretical investigation according to these purpose and behaved theoretical investigation and lift construction materials allied industry, labor-intensive manufacturing industry, fisheries farm produce cultivation, processing household mascot etc. as energy industry, refined oil and petrochemical industry, electric-power industry, other field by our country medium and small enterprise.

A Study of Mammal and Amphibians-Reptile Species Around Shin-Po Areas, Hamkyungbuk-Do, North Korea (북한 함경북도 신포 지역 포유류 및 양서파충류 조사 연구)

  • Fauna of Shinpo nuclear powerplant site were surveyed during Feb 27-Mar 4, 2003 as a part of ecological environmental survey. This area is well dominated by coniferous trees (Pinus densiflora) ranging 15-50 years. In the shoreline black pine (Pinus thungergii) is the dominant species and was planted for wind protection. Around Shinpo areas inside 50 km in radius was found 33 mammal species (3 orders, 15 families), and amphibian-reptiles 6 species (2 orders, 3 families) were recorded. Natural monument in the areas were estimated 6 species of mammals and one species of reptiles. Although the habitat of Shinpo area is deteriorated due to deforestation, illegal hunting, etc. the fauna seems to be rich in species. Despite the sudden halt of KEDO project the conservation efforts and continuous monitoring are required considering a continuation of the project.

Construction and Operation of Small Solar Plant Using Smart-Off-Grid: Case of Tanzania-Korea Innovative Technology and Energy Center (스마트-독립전력망을 사용한 소규모 태양광 발전소의 건설과 운영: 한국-탄자니아 적정기술 거점센터의 사례)

  • Supplying stable electric power is one of the important objectives of the Official Development Assistance (ODA) because it is strongly related with improving living standards and income levels in the region. However, rural areas in many developing countries are not properly connected to national power grids, and even areas connected to national power grids are frequently blacked out due to limitations in power capacity. These lack of electric power is a major obstacle to improving income levels and improving living standards in those areas. The Korea-Tanzania Innovative and Energy Center (iTEC), which was established by Seoul National University in cooperation with the Nelson-Mandela Africa Institute of Science and Technology and Technology (NM-AIST) try to build a small solar power plant using a smart-off grid in rural area of Tanzania, where there is no electricity. 10 kW and 7 kW solar power plants are built in Mkalama Village in Kilimanajaro Region and Ngurdoto Village in Arusha Region to provide power to about 50 households each. In addition, smart monitoring systems were installed to collect data about status of power system and power consumption of each house. iTEC seeks for sustainable improvement the income level and quality of life of rural residents in developing countries through the construction of small solar power plants using smart-off grid, and the implementation of various connected projects.
