전기차용 전력변환장치의 펄스 폭 변조 기법 분석 (Analysis of Pulse Width Modulation Schemes for Electric Vehicle Power Converters)

  • In order to overcome the problem of fossil fuel energy, electric vehicle (EV) has been used in recent years. The important issues of EV are driving distance and lifetime related to EV efficiency. A voltage source converter is one of the main components of EV which can be operated with various pulse width modulation (PWM) schemes such as continuous PWM schemes and discontinuous PWM schemes. These PWM schemes will cause the effects on the efficiency of converter system and the lifetime of EV. Therefore, this paper proposes an analysis of the PWM schemes for the power converter on the EV. The objective is to find out a best solution for the EV by comparing the total harmonic distortion (THD) and transient response between the various PWM schemes. The operation of traction motor on the EV with the PWM schemes will be verified by using Psim simulation program.

풍력발전의 출력 변동 저감을 위한 ESS 최소용량 산정기법 (Method of Minimizing ESS Capacity for Mitigating the Fluctuation of Wind Power Generation System)

  • In this paper, we have studied about minimizing the Energy Storage System (ESS) capacity for mitigating the fluctuation of Wind Turbine Generation System (WTGS) by using Electric Double Layer Capacitor (EDLC) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). In this case, they have some different characteristics: The EDLC has the ability of generating the output power at high frequency. Thus, it is able to reduce the fluctuation of WTGS in spite of high cost. The BESS, by using Li-Ion battery, takes the advantage of high energy density, however it is limited to use at low frequency response. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, simulations are carried out with the actual data of 2MW WTGS in case of worst fluctuation of WTGS is happened. By comparing simulation results, this method shows the excellent performance. Therefore, it is very useful for understanding and minimizing the ESS capacity for mitigating the fluctuation of WTGS.

전기차 주행 데이터에 의한 경로별 배터리 상태 추정 (EV Battery State Estimation using Real-time Driving Data from Various Routes)

  • As the number of electric vehicles (EVs) in Jejudo Island increases, the secondary use of EV batteries is becoming increasingly mandatory not only in reducing greenhouse gas emissions but also in promoting resource conservation. For the secondary use of EV batteries, their capacity and performance at the end of automotive service should be evaluated properly. In this study, the battery state information from the on-board diagnostics or OBD2 port was acquired in real time while driving three distinct routes in Jejudo Island, and then the battery operating characteristics were assessed with the driving routes. The route with higher altitude led to higher current output, i.e., higher C-rate, which would reportedly deteriorate state of health (SOH) faster. In addition, the SOH obtained from the battery management system (BMS) of a 2017 Kia Soul EV with a mileage of 55,000 km was 100.2%, which was unexpectedly high. This finding was confirmed by the SOH estimation based on the ratio of the current integral to the change in state of charge. The SOH larger than 100% can be attributed to the rated capacity that was lower than the nominal capacity in EV application. Therefore, considering the driving environment and understanding the SOH estimation process will be beneficial and necessary in evaluating the capacity and performance of retired batteries for post-vehicle applications.

  • 최근 국내 전력산업의 주변 환경, 즉 전기요금의 가격, 환경보호 및 에너지 문제 등으로 인해 전기사업을 보다 능동적으로 운영하기 위한 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 지금까지 대부분의 전력회사에서는 전력계통의 신뢰도에 중점을 두고 전력을 공급하였지만 모든 조건에 일률적으로 적용하는 것은 막대한 비용 상승을 동반하기 때문에 전력회사에서는 전력설비를 설치 또는 운영하는 것에 대해 보다 유연하게 대처하기 위하여 기기 투자비용에 대한 가치 및 이득을 검토하는 것이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 지중배전기기의 설치위치별로 국외 사례 및 국내 환경을 고려하여 그 효과를 분석하였으며, 본 연구결과는 향후 지중배전기기의 현장 적용 시 검토방안과 대책으로써 활용이 기대된다.

  • This paper presents the method for the fluctuation smoothing control by using relaxation time variable control of battery. When the output power of wind farm is changed suddenly, it is necessary to control the output power of wind farm. The smoothing relaxation time is changed within limits of battery output power. Using the hybrid energy storage system (HESS) combined with battery energy storage system and electric double layer capacitor, it is possible to control the output power of wind farm. The capacity of battery is determined by considering the case of the disconnecting wind farm from the grid. To verify the proposed method, simulations are carried out by using PSCAD/EMTDC with actual data of wind farm in the Jeju Island.

Immunochemical Studies for the Characterization of Purified $(Na^+,\;K^+)-ATPase$ and Its Subunits with a Special Reference of Their Effect on Monovalent Cation Transport in Reconstituted $(Na^+,\;K^+)-ATPase$ Vesicles

  • A highly purified $(Na^+,\;K^+)-ATPase$ from the rectal gland of Squalus acanthias and from the electric organ of Electrophorus electricus has been used to raise antibodies in rabbits. The 97,000 dalton catalytic subunit and glycoprotein derived from the rectal gland of spiny shark were also used as antigens. The two $(Na^+,\;K^+)-ATPase$ holoenzymes and the two shark subunits were antigenic. In Ouchterlony double diffusion experiments, these antibodies formed precipitation bands with their antigens. Antibodies prepared against the two subunits of shark holoenzyme also formed precipitation bands with their antigens and shark holoenzyme, but not with eel holoenzyme. These observations are in good agreement with inhibitory effect of these antibodies on the catalytic activity of $(Na^+,\;K^+)-ATPase$ both from the shark and the eel, since there is very little cross-reaction between the shark anticatalytic subunit antibodies and the eel holoenzyme. The maximum antibodies titer of the anticatalytic subunit antibodies is found to be 6 weeks after the initial single exposure to this antigen. Multiple injections of the antigen increased the antibody titer. However, the time required to produce the maximum antibody titer was approximately the same. These antibodies also inhibit catalytic activity of $(Na^+,\;K^+)-ATPase$ vesicles reconstituted by a slow dialysis of cholate after solubilization of the enzyme in a presonicated mixture of cholate and phospholipid. In these reconstituted $(Na^+,\;K^+)-ATPase$ vesicles, effects of these antibodies on the fluxes of $Na^+$, $Rb^+$, and $K^+$ were investigated. Control or preimmune serum had no effect on the influx of $^{22}Na^+$ or the efflux of $^{86}Rb^+$. Immunized sera against the shark $(Na^+,\;K^+)-ATPase$ holoenzyme, its glycoprotein or catalytic subunit did inhibit the influx of $^{22}Na^+$ and the efflux of $^{86}Rb^+$. It was also demonstrated that these antibodies inhibit the coupled counter-transport of $Na^+$ and $K^+$ as studied by means of dual labeling experiments. However, this inhibitory effect of the antibodies on transport of ions in the $(Na^+,\;K^+)-ATPase$ vesicles is manifested only on the portion of energy and temperature dependent alkali metal fluxes, not on the portion of ATP and ouabain insensitive ion movement. Simultaneous determination of effects of the antibodies on ion fluxes and vesicular catalytic activity indicates that an inhibition of active ion transport in reconstituted $(Na^+,\;K^+)-ATPase$ vesicles appears to be due to the inhibitory action of the antibodies on the enzymatic activity of $(Na^+,\;K^+)-ATPase$ molecules incorporated in the vesicles. These findings that the inhibitory effects of the antibodies specific to $(Na^+,\;K^+)-ATPase$ or to its subunits on ATP and temperature sensitive monovalent cation transport in parallel with the inhibitory effect of vesicular catalytic activity by these antibodies provide direct evidence that $(Na^+,\;K^+)-ATPase$ is the molecular machinery of active cation transport in this reconstituted $(Na^+,\;K^+)-ATPase$ vesicular system.

생약추출물들의 acetylcholinesterase (AChE) 저해활성 검색 (Inhibitory Effects of Some Herbal Extracts on the Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) In Vitro)

  • The methanol extracts of 340 kinds of Korean medicinal herbs were examined in vitro for the inhibitory effect on the acetylcholinesterase (AChE, E.C. 3.1.1.7) from electric eel using acetylthiocholine as a substrate. Among tested, the extracts of Coptidis Rhizoma, Phellodendri Cortex, Evodiae Fructus, Myrrha, Arecae Semen and Piperis nigri Fructus were found to exhibit a significant inhibition upon the acetylcholinesterase in a dose dependent manner, respectively.

국내 리튬이온전지 재활용 산업현황 (Lithium Ion Battery Recycling Industry in South Korea)

  • 이 글은 현재 국내 리튬이온전지 상용 재활용 공정을 정리하고, 리튬이온전지 재활용 공정의 새로운 방향을 제시한다. 대표적인 리튬이온전지 재활용 업체인 (주)성일하이텍은 10년 이상 리튬이온전지 재활용 공정을 성공적으로 운영해 왔으며 최근 많은 재활용 업체 및 배터리 제조업체들이 새로운 재활용 공정을 제안하고 개발하고 있다. 새로운 재활용 공정에서는 리튬 가격의 급격한 상승으로 니켈과 코발트보다 먼저 리튬이 회수되고, 금속 황산염 용액을 최종 제품으로 배터리 제조업체에 공급하는 특징이 있다. 향후 대량으로 발생할 폐전지 처리를 위해 기존 공정이 개선될 필요가 있으며, 폐기된 자동차와 함께 유입되는 성분들과 리튬이온전지의 새로운 첨가제는 향후 리튬이온전지 재활용 공정에서 주요 공정효율 저감 요인이 될 수 있다.

추자도 마이크로그리드 구축에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Establishment of the Microgrid in Chujado Island)

  • 현재 국내 소규모 섬들은 주로 디젤발전기를 이용하여 전력을 공급하고 있다. 그러나 디젤발전기는 부하변동에 대한 속응성이 느리기 때문에 계통을 불안정하게 할 수 있고, 화석연료 사용에 의한 탄소가스 배출로 환경문제를 야기한다. 이러한 문제를 극복하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 주전원을 디젤발전기를 통하여 전력을 공급받고 있는 추자도에 태양광발전, 풍력발전, 에너지저장장치를 도입하여 최적의 마이크로그리드를 구축하는 방안을 제안한다. 이때 각 분산형 전원의 경제적 최적용량은 HOMER(Hybrid Optimization Model for Multiple Energy Resources) 프로그램을 이용하여 산정하였고, 이를 계통의 안정성을 분석할 수 있는 PSCAD/EMTDC(Power Systems Computer Aided Design/ Electromagnetic Transients including DC) 프로그램을 활용하여 제안한 마이크로그리드의 타당성을 입증한다.

Acetylcholinesterase(AChE)-Catalyzed Hydrolysis of Long-Chain Thiocholine Esters: Shift to a New Chemical Mechanism

  • The kinetic and chemical mechanisms of AChE-catalyzed hydrolysis of short-chain thiocholine esters are relatively well documented. Up to propanoylthiocholine (PrTCh) the chemical mechanism is general acid-base catalysis by the active site catalytic triad. The chemical mechanism for the enzyme-catalyzed butyrylthiocholine(BuTCh) hydrolysis shifts to a parallel mechanism in which general base catalysis by E199 of direct water attack to the carbonyl carbon of the substrate. [Selwood, T., et al. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 1993, 115, 10477- 10482] The long chain thiocholine esters such as hexanoylthiocholine (HexTCh), heptanoylthiocholine (HepTCh), and octanoylthiocholine (OcTCh) are hydrolyzed by electric eel acetylcholinesterase (AChE). The kinetic parameters are determined to show that these compounds have a lower Michaelis constant than BuTCh and the pH-rate profile showed that the mechanism is similar to that of BuTCh hydrolysis. The solvent isotope effect and proton inventory of AChE-catalyzed hydrolysis of HexTCh showed that one proton transfer is involved in the transition state of the acylation stage. The relationship between the dipole moment and the Michaelis constant of the long chain thiocholine esters showed that the dipole moment is the most important factor for the binding of a substrate to the enzyme active site.
