  • The capacity and long life of gel electrolyte batteries is connected with gas recombination producting $PbO_2$ and Pb electrode. We prepared with sulfuric acid gel electrolyte to know gel characteristics per density to assemble valve regulated lead-acid (VRLA) batteries. We studied on actions of sulphuric acid gel electrolyte by measuring electrolyte dispersion using Brewster-angle microscope (BAM), charge-discharge cycle, and electrode structure using scanning election microscope (SEM). Sulphuric acid density 1.210 showed excellent gel dispersion in sol condition, electrode condition after fifty cycles in this study.

  • E-voting is expected to offer prominent advantages over traditional voting methods. Advantages include faster tallying, greater accuracy, prevention of void ballots, and lower cost. However, many experts express concerns about the potential for large-scale fraud. Recently, many paper based end-to-end (E2E) voter verifiable systems providing individual verifiability and universal verifiability have been proposed. These systems, unlike previous voting systems, are used in polling booths and without access to trusted computing devices at the time of voting. In this paper, we propose a practical and secure E2E voter verifiable system using a paper receipt based on cryptographic technologies.

  • In this paper, we proposed the clustering algorithm using fuzzy inference system for improving adaptability the cluster head selection of TEEN. The stochastic selection method cannot guarantee available of cluster head. Furthermore, because the formation of clusters is not optimized, the network lifetime is impeded. To improve this problem, we propose the algorithm that gathers attributes of sensor node to evaluate probability to be cluster head.

  • The premise of the intentional model of split-ticket voting is that some voters split their tickets simply because they prefer divided government and believe in constant "checks and balances." This article examines whether this premise stands firm in an emerging democracy like Taiwan. That is, by using survey data in Taiwan, we explore whether one's attitude toward divided or unified government is "real." We hypothesize that a citizen's attitude toward "checks and balances" is subject to change, and conditional on whether her preferred party is in power. Specifically, we speculate that a citizen would tend to hold the balancing perspective or favor divided government, if her preferred party is in opposition. However, if her preferred party becomes the ruling party, she would be more likely to oppose (hold) the balancing (non-balancing) perspective or favor unified government. We then utilize panel survey data embedded in Taiwan's Election and Democratization Studies (TEDS) to verify our hypothesis.

  • User-generated content (UGC) satirizing the presidential candidates was widespread during the 2016 election in Taiwan. Using an experimental design, this study explored the predictors of viewer agreement to satirical UGC, and its influence on viewer attitudes towards candidates after watching the satirical videos from YouTube. Results showed that participants' agreement with the satirical UGC was predicted by their political cynicism and political information efficacy, but not by candidate favorability. Watching the UGC satirizing the presidential candidates effected the favorability toward the male candidates but not the female candidate. In addition, the evidence suggested that the frequency of exposure to satirical UGC is related to political information efficacy, but not with political cynicism or candidate favorability.

  • Free and glycosidically bound volatiles from three green tobacco leaves(NC 82, KF 109 and Br-21) were separated by nonionic resin Amberlite XAD-2 adsorption column chromatography and election by selective solvents. Aglycones from the glycosidically bound fractions were released by enzymatic hydrolysis with almond B-glucosidase. A total of 20 components identified from free and glycosidically bound fractions, the major components were benzaldehyde, benzyl alcohol, 2-phenylethyl alcohol, 3-oxo- -ionol, 3-hydroxy-B-ionone, 3-oxo-7, 8-dihydro-n-ionol and scopoletin. Six Cl.B norisoprenoids identified in this study, which have been described to possess a characteristic tobacco aroma-enhancing effect, were not presented in free forms but rather bound glycosidic forms.

  • Mutual Exclusion is one of the most studied topics in distributed systems where processes communicate by asynchronous message passing. It is often necessary for multiple processes at different sites to access a shared resource or data called a critical section (CS) in distributed systems. A number of algorithms have been proposed to solve the mutual exclusion problem in distributed systems. In this paper, we propose the new algorithm which is modified from Garg's algorithm[1] thus works properly in a fault-tolerant system. In our algorithm, after electing the token generator, the elected process generates a new token based on the information of the myreqlist which is kept by every process and the reqdone which is received during election. Consequently, proposed algorithm tolerates any number of process failures and also does even when only one process is alive.

  • Influence of electrochemical etching conditions on capacitance gain of aluminium electrolytic on capacitor foil has been investigated by etching cubic textured high purity aluminum foil in dilute hydrochloric acid. Uniformly distributed etch pit tunnels on aluminum surface have been obtained by pretreatment aluminium foil in 10% NaOH solution for 5 minutes followed by electrochemical etching. Electrostatic capacitance of etched aluminium foil anodized to high voltage increased with the increase of current density, total charge, temperature and concentration of electrolyte up to maximum CV-value and then deceased. Election optical observation of the etched foil revealed that the density of etch of etch pits increased with the increase of current density and concentration of electrolyte. this increase of etch pit density enlarged of the increase of capacitance. However, abnormal high current density and high electrolyte concentration induced the local dissolution of the foil surface which resulted the decrease of foil capacitance.
