비선형 유한요소법에 의한 탄성받침의 이차원 해석 (2 Dimensional Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis for Layered Elastomeric Bearings)

  • A geometric and material nonlinear finite element analysis is developed for the layered elastomeric bearings. In this study, a mixed variational approach with separate variables is used to describe the displacement and volume change of rubber. To represent finely deformed behavior, Kirchoff stress tensors are used and converted Eulerian stress tensors to describe real physical meanings. Newton's method is utilized to solve the governing nonlinear finite element equations. Numerical test are performed in the case of compression and shear to verify the theory and to illustrate the application of this analysis. And the results of this study were compared to the results of Moore's discrete finite element analysis.

고속전철교량의 동적 거동에 미치는 감쇠와 교좌장치의 영향 (The Effects of Bearings and Damping on the Dynamic Behavior of bridge for KHSR)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the dynamic behaviors of KHSR(Korea High-Speed Railway) bridge supported by elastomeric bearings subjected to high-speed vehicles. The effects of damping on the dynamic behaviors are also studied. The train composed of two power cars, two motor cars and eighteen passenger cars are simulated using constant moving forces for simplicity and effectiveness in the analysis. Direct integration method are used to solve the dynamic equation of motion. The bridge analyzed is real bridge with 2@40m span and concrete continuos box girder. The bridge is model led using frame element in three dimensional space. From the results of this study, the effects of elastomeric bearing on the dynamic responses of bridge(especially vertical accelerations) may cause undesirable behaviors. Damping are very important in the dynamic behaviors of the bridge subjected to high-speed railways. And so, dynamic analysis of steel bridge for high-speed railway supported by elastomeric bearings should be performed carefully.

근사모델을 이용한 의 구조최적설계 (Structural Optimization of an LMU Using Approximate Model)

  • This study suggests an optimal design process of an LMU, which is installed on the top side of offshore structures. The LMU is consist of EB(elastomeric bearing) and steel plate, and supports the vertical loads of offshore structures and assists its stable installation. The structural design requirement of the LMU is related to its stiffness. This study utilizes the finite element analysis to predict the stiffness. The stiffness of the EB depends on the size of the bearing. Thus, the design variables in this study are defined as the thickness, the width and the number of plates. Since the LMU has different loads for different locations, its stiffness should be designed differently. The multiobjective function is introduced to attain the target stiffness. In this process, the metamodel using the kriging interpolation method is adopted to replace the true stiffness.

Structural performance of fiber reinforced cementitious plinths in precast girder bridges

  • Steel laminated elastomeric bearings are commonly used in bridge structures to control displacements and rotations and transfer forces from the superstructure to the substructure. Proper knowledge of design, fabrication and erection procedures is important to ensure stability and adequate structural performance during the lifetime of the bridge. Difference in elevations sometimes leads to large size gaps between the bearing and the girder which makes the grout thickness that is commonly used for leveling deviate beyond standards. This paper investigates the structural response of High Strength Fiber Reinforced Cementitious (HSFRC) thin plinths that are used to close gaps between bearing pads and precast girders. An experimental program was developed for this purpose where HSFRC plinths of different size were cast and tested under vertical loads that simulate bridge loading in service. The structural performance of the plinths was closely monitored during testing, mainly crack propagation, vertical reaction and displacement. Analytically, the HSFRC plinth was analyzed using the beam on elastic foundation theory as the supporting elastomeric bearing pads are highly compressible. Closed form solutions were derived for induced displacement and forces and comparisons were made between analytical and experimental results. Finally, recommendations were made to facilitate the practical use of HSFRC plinths in bridge construction based on its enhanced load carrying capacity in shear and flexure.

유한요소 해석과 모형실험을 통한 교량받침의 거동특성 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Bridge Bearings Behavior by Finite Element Analysis and Model Test)

  • 철도차량에 의한 진동은 지반을 통해 주변 지역에 영향을 주고 피로균열등 구조적 손상을 주고 있다. 본 논문은 새롭게 개발된 탄성 스페리컬 받침을 기존 강재스페리컬 받침과의 비교를 통한 진동저감성능에 대해 평가하였다. 탄성스페리컬 받침은 반구형 곡률과 크기를 변경함으로써 현장 여건에 맞는 강성을 구현할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 탄성 스페리컬 받침은 반구형 고무 및 보강판의 적층 받침으로써 성능특성을 확인하기 위해 설계와 해석결과를 비교하고 특성시험을 실시하였다. 또한 진동저감성능 확인을 위해 열차의 실대차 축소모형 시험을 실시하였다. 해석적 검증비교를 통한 특성시험에서는 설계하중 500kN 시험체의 압축 및 회전 시험결과 압축보다 회전에 의한 강성 증가가 적은 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 압축 및 회전 시험 후 시험체에 외관변형 및 영구적인 손상, 찢어짐 등은 발견되지 않았다. 축소 스케일 진동 측정 시험에서는 실대차 모형을 1/50축소하여 교량의 진동을 측정하였다. 그 결과 강재 스페리컬 받침에 비해 탄성 스페리컬 받침의 진동 저감능력이 탁월한 것으로 판단되며, 거리별 진동감쇠 성능도 높은 것으로 확인되어 탄성스페리컬 받침의 철도교 적용 시 진동저감효과가 우수할 것으로 판단된다. 향 후 실제 철도교량에서의 현장실험을 통해 성능을 검증할 계획이다.

  • This paper presents an analytical evaluation of the effect of motion on seismic responses of base isolated low-level building and experimental studies to evaluate isolation performances of a rubber bearing. Dynamic responses induced by earthquake were evaluated by response analyses, taking the rubber bearing of the base isolation devices into account. In the experiment, vibration tests were carried out using a model for rubber bearings as isolation devices against earthquake in order to investigate the isolation performances of the rubber bearings. Several kinds of rubber bearing for base isolated low-level building against earthquake are examined. As a result, it is shown that the effect of the motion on the response of the building and the base response is well controlled from a seismic design standpoint.

섬유보강 면진베어링의 실험적 특성 해석 (An Experimental Study on Fiber Reinforced Elastomeric Bearing)

  • 면진베어링으로 기존에 사용되고 있는 철판보강 면진베어링에서 철판을 섬유로 대체하여 섬유보강 면진베어링을 설계 및 제작하였다. 섬유면진보강베어링의 특성을 파악하기 위해서 철판보강 면진베어링과 섬유보강 면진베어링에 대해 수평실험과 압축실험을 수행하였다. 시험결과 섬유보강 면진베어링의 유효 감쇠는 천연고무 면진베어링에 비해서 높았다. 이 결과는 지진하중하에서 섬유보강 면진베어링은 에너지 분산능력이 뛰어나다는 것을 의미한다. 이 연구결과로 인해 섬유보강 면진베어링이 저가건물에 널리 사용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Compression of hollow-circular fiber-reinforced rubber bearings

  • Earlier studies on hollow-circular rubber bearings, all of which are conducted for steel-reinforced bearings, indicate that the hole presence not only decreases the compression modulus of the bearing but also increases the maximum shear strain developing in the bearing due to compression, both of which are basic design parameters also for fiber-reinforced rubber bearings. This paper presents analytical solutions to the compression problem of hollow-circular fiber-reinforced rubber bearings. The problem is handled using the most-recent formulation of the "pressure method". The analytical solutions are, then, used to investigate the effects of reinforcement flexibility and hole presence on bearing's compression modulus and maximum shear strain in the bearing in view of four key parameters: (i) reinforcement extensibility, (ii) hole size, (iii) bearing's shape factor and (iv) rubber compressibility. It is shown that the compression stiffness of a hollow-circular fiber-reinforced bearing may decrease considerably as reinforcement flexibility and/or hole size increases particularly if the shape factor of the bearing is high and rubber compressibility is not negligible. Numerical studies also show that the existence of even a very small hole can increase the maximum shear strain in the bearing significantly, which has to be considered in the design of such annular bearings.

가속열 노화로 열화된 탄성받침 고무재료의 전단 특성(1): 천연고무 (Shear Characteristics of Elastomeric Bearing Rubber Deteriorated by Accelerated Heat Aging(1): Natural Rubber)

  • 유연한 고무재료를 사용하는 탄성받침은 최근 교량의 내진보강용으로 많이 적용되고 있다. 그러나 다양한 요인에 의하여 고무재료의 노화가 진행되고 이로 인해 탄성받침의 전단강성에 변화가 생기고 이는 교량의 내진성능에 영향을 미친다. 천연고무를 대상으로 노화촉진시간과 노출시간을 변수로 하여 노화촉진시험을 수행하여 전단특성의 변화를 분석하였다. 노화가 진행될수록(노화촉진온도 및 노출시간이 증가할수록) 최대전단응력과 전단변형율은 감소한다. 또한 동일한 전단변형률에서 전단강성이 크게 증가한다. 이는 고무재료가 경화됨을 의미하며 탄성받침의 내진성능이 저하되는 것을 암시한다.
