  • This study is focused that the electronic commerce(EC) on the purchasing section may improve the efficiency and transparency of the hospitals management. After reviewing the purchasing activity of hospitals, I study the introduction, expected effects, and problems of EC. So, I am going to provide basic information for activating EC. The samples are managers of 170 hospitals, which are located on Seoul. As a result of collection this survey, I analyze 79 hospitals. For data analysis, I use $X^2$-test and ANOVA for purchasing management and the relevance of EC according to the level of care. The results of this study are 1. The problems on the management of purchasing section are: firstly, they don't have sufficient time to study market. Secondly, it is difficult to find competitive suppliers. And, lastly, they cannot gather a lot of information about the price of products. 2. There are many answers of the needs on the introduction of B2B. However, some hospitals think they don't need it. But, the most answers are that the EC will be settled within 4 years. So, we can realize that these hospitals are getting interested on the EC. On the other hand, I find that they prefer outside EC companies for the introduction of EC. 3. On the expected effects on EC, first is the effectiveness of the market survey. The next is to collect information of adequate price of products owing to clear transaction, find easier new suppliers and gather useful data. 4. On the external problems of the introduction of EC, there is low credibility related to the security and the weakness of suppliers' information system. Especially, on the Real Transaction Price Payment system, the bigger bed size, the higher understanding on these problems. On the internal problems of the introduction of EC, first is the burden of the introduction of EC and operating cost. Especially, on the burden of the disclosure of revenue source, the smaller bed size, the higher understanding on this problem So, this is a point which deserves my attention statistically. However, this shows relatively little understanding about incomplete the standard of product category and the weak information system of hospital. Through this study, I am going to suggest 3 points for the activation of the introduction of EC on hospitals. 1. The reform of the Real Transaction Price Payment System on medical supplies and materials for medical treatment 2. The establishment of the standard of product category 3. The promotion of information system based on network.

  • To improve the effectiveness and efficiency of public health personnel training, we evaluated not only how appropriate the students felt the objectives, contents, methods and multimedia used in the train ing courses, but also how much the students accomplished the objectives and applied skill and knowledge to their own works. We selected 5 courses for the study : Tuberculosis control, Radiological technique, Public health information, Immunization, Mental health management courses used by Kirkpatrick's evaluation model. Reaction evaluation was carried out in final day by questionnaire. The results showed that all of them were very satisfied with educational input and curricula, learn Ing environment. Secondly, we measured the degree of learning achievement on pre and post training by questionaire of specific behavioral objectives. The degree of learning achievement was statistically higher just after training than pre training (paired t-test, p<0.01). Thirdly, evaluation of behavioral change to job was conducted to find out how much students applied skill and knowledge to their own job in 3 months after training by questionnaire. The results of behavioral change evaluation showed that 43.5% of the students who were performing job related with the training courses in 3 months after training applied the learned skill and knowledge to their own job quite well and 37.8% of them applied relatively well, therefore total 81.4% of them applied to their own job. And effectiveness of training for the above mentioned students showed that 41.9 % of them had improved or enforced their jobs after training, 35.5% of them had had no remarkable changes, and 15.7% had newly applied the learned skill and knowledge to their jobs. For evaluating the degree of usefulness of material predistribution in two weeks before training, we compared experimental groups with control groups. The results showed that general reactions are helpful but the degree of learning achievement is no discrepancy.

  • For a successful construction project, systematic and objective decision-making is a prerequisite from the planning and designing stages. However, previous LCC analysis methods have focused only on simple cost savings and the accompanying economic efficacy while missing the environmental aspects of a structure. Although recently, a new approach of integrated $CO_2$ analysis has been introduced, which is more advanced than the existing simple LCC methods, it is difficult to collect all of the data necessary for each evaluation item since the product-specific cost is not presented under the LCC. In this research, cost evaluation items were selected by relatively high weights and items with heavy influence over a decision-making process in order to suggest an LCC-LCA integrated analysis model that is useful in comprehensively assessing the economic cost and environmental cost throughout the whole life cycle of a structure. The developed LCC-LCA integrated analysis model was applied to actual practices and compared with previous methods to test the model's effectiveness.

  • In this study, soft carbon was prepared by carbonization of carbon precursor (pitch) obtained from PFO (pyrolysis fuel oil) heat treatment. Three carbon precursors prepared by the thermal reaction were 3903 (at $390^{\circ}C$ for 3 h), 4001 (at $400^{\circ}C$ for 1 h) and 4002 (at $400^{\circ}C$ for 2 h). After the prepared soft carbon was ground to a particle size of $25{\sim}35^{\circ}C$, the soft carbon was synthesised by the chemical treatment with boric acid ($H_3BO_3$). The prepared soft carbon were analysed by XRD, FE-SEM and XPS. Also, the electrochemical performances of soft carbon were investigated by constant current charge/discharge test, cyclic voltammetry and impedance tests in the electrolyte of $LiPF_6$ dissolved inorganic solvents (EC:DMC=1:1 vol%+VC 3 wt%). The coin cell using soft carbon of $25{\sim}35^{\circ}C$ with 3903 soft carbon ($H_3BO_3$/Pitch=3:100 in weight) has better initial capacity and efficiency (330 mAh/g, 82%) than those of other coin cells. Also, it was found that the retention rate capability of 2C/0.1C was 90% after 30 cycles.

  • This paper deals with basic theories and some numerical results on structural optimization for geodesic dome. First of all, the space efficiency of geodesic dome is investigated by using the ratio of icosahedron's surface area to the internal volume enclosed by it. The procedure how to create the geodesic dome is also provided in systematic way and implemented and utilized into the design optimization code ISADO-OPT. The mathematical programming technique is introduced to find out the optimum pattern of member size of geodesic dome against a point load. In this study, total weight of structure is considered as the objective function to be minimized and the displacement occurred at loading point and member stresses of geodesic dome are used as the constraint functions. The finite difference method is used to calculate the design sensitivity of objective function with respect to design variables. The SLP, SQP and MFDM available in the optimizer DoT is used to search optimum member size patterns of geodesic dome. It is found to be that the optimum member size pattern can be efficiently obtained by using the proposed design optimization technique and numerical results can be used as benchmark test as a basic reference solution for design optimization of dome structures.

  • To assess the estrogenicities of Korean arrowroot (Pueraria thunbergiana) the contents of nine phytochemicals which are known to present were analyzed by HPLC. Also the estrogenecities of these phytochemicals were assayed using estrogen receptor dependent transcriptional expression assay. Daidzein and puerarin are major compounds in arrowroot, which were contained in the order of: root>stem>leaf>flower>seed. Among the assayed phytochemicals daidzein, genistein, biochanin A, formononetin, puerarin and genistin were highly estrogenic. The total estrogenicities in different parts of arrowroot and those by regions in Korea were also assessed. Roots had the highest estrogenic effects. The estrogenicities also were shown in stem and leaf. The differences in the estrogenicities of arrowroots by regions in Korea were shown. These results demonstrated that the estrogenic phytochemicals content was the highest in Korean arrowroot and also present in stem and leaf.

  • The slagging which generated from ash deposition on furnace wall and tube in boiler reduces the heat transfer efficiency and damages to safety of boiler. The slag flow behavior in boiler is affected by melting temperature which is related to ash compositions. In this study, the behavior of slag is researched by using ash fusibility test, called TMA (Thermo-Mechanical Analysis). The technique measures the percentage shrinkage as the function of temperature, T25%, T50%, T75%, T90%. These temperatures indicate different stages of melting. Then, the effect of ash chemical compositions measured from XRF (X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer) to ash fusion temperatures is discussed. Among the chemical compositions, refractory and fluxing influence on ash fusibility is described. High levels of refractory component and limited amount of fluxing components ($Fe_2O_3$, $K_2O$, CaO) increase overall melting temperatures. High $SiO_2/Al_2O_3$ ratio decrease high melting temperatures (T75%, T90%). Meanwhile, the presence of reasonable levels of fluxing components reduces overall melting temperature. A presence of fluxing component such as $K_2O$ and CaO is found to decrease the T25% values significantly. From this research, it is possible to make a reasonable explanation and prediction of ash fusion characteristic from analysis of TMA results and ash chemical compositions.

  • The purpose of this study is to quantitatively demonstrate that rational and emotional factors in urban tourist facilities affect visitor satisfaction, positive word of mouth and subsequent revisits. Therefore, the researcher used structural modeling methodology to test the paths and relationships between the rational and emotional perception, satisfaction, word of mouth, and exogenous variables (aesthetics, economic utility, accessibility, emotional attachment, etc.) of urban tourism facilities perceived by users. As a result of the study, users of urban tourism facilities are affected by customer satisfaction such as ease, usability, and pleasure based on intangible assets such as kindness, aesthetics, symbolism, attachment, and rational factors, which are emotional impressions of urban tourism facilities, and utility, and customer satisfaction. These were found to have a positive and lasting effect on users' perceptions of the facility. Therefore, if the rational and emotional values of urban tourism facilities are considered and integrated in marketing, efficiency can be maximized in terms of satisfaction, word of mouth, and future revisits. The researcher considered that this study could contribute to the revitalization of the tourism industry and the city as a whole through the improvement and utilization of various tourism facilities possessed by the city.
