에어로졸 시험장비를 이용한 방호 의복 소재의 여과 효율에 대한 연구 (The Experimental Study of SPM(Selectively Permeable Membrane Materials) by using Aerosol Test Instrument)

  • In Korea, permeable protection clothes for chemical agent is being developed and distributed. But permeable protection clothes are vulnerable for biological agent of particle type. Therefore selective permeable membranes are being developed to protect chemical agent and biological agent simultaneously. In this study, aerosol collection efficiency test was performed to validate the protection performance of permeable clothes and selective permeable membranes. Aerosol collection efficiency test was performed by using the aerosol test equipment that could test aerosol particle diameter from $0.005{\mu}m$ to $3.0{\mu}m$. This study shows the test method and performance test results for collection efficiency by using the aerosol test equipment.

  • This work presents experimental results of filter media test by using particles from $0.02\;to\;0.6{\mu}m$ in diameter and by applying different charging states. In order to investigate the electret filter performance, the collection efficiency and the pressure drop of filter were measured. The face velocities of test filters varied from 2.4 to 20.4 cm/s. Another experiment setup for the cartridge cabin air filter was used to get an collection efficiency in submicron region. After charging level of electret filter severely decreased, the change of collection efficiency was verified. Experimental results show that the reliability of electret filters can be poor in some conditions.

공기압에 따른 타이어의 안전성 및 경제성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study of Tire Safety & Economical Efficiency with Respect to Inflation Pressure)

  • Many vehicles have significantly under-inflated tires, primarily because drivers infrequently check their vehicles' tire pressure. When a tire is used while significantly under-inflated, its sidewalls flex more and the tire temperature increases, increasing stress and the risk of failure. In this study we evaluated tire safety and economical efficiency at various inflation pressure. For tire safety we performed FMVSS indoor durability test, measurement of rolling tire temperature, braking performance at dry/wet road condition, and rolling resistance test for economical efficiency. Results show that low pressure decreases tire durability of both speed-increase condition and load-increase condition. Heat temperature of rolling tire increases as pressure decreases and significantly under-inflated tires cause increase of vehicle's stopping distance at wet road condition. Also Under-inflation increases the rolling resistance of a tire and, correspondingly, decreases vehicle's fuel economy.

  • This paper presents a nonparametric method to test if the mean difference of DEA efficiency estimates between two groups statistically exists. A proposed method employs a bootstrapping approach to generation BCC efficiency estimates through Monte Carlo simulation resampling process. For the purpose of demonstration, we empirically apply the proposed method to the korean bank industry and compare its result with the result by the traditional deterministic DEA method. The nonparametric statistical hypothesis testing procedure in this study, which considers not only stochastic variability of the DEA data, but also random radial deviations off the efficient frontier, serves as a useful tool for dbjectively evaluating whether the mean difference of DEA efficiency estimates between groups is statistically significant.

  • In the development of Antiskid Brake System(ABS) for a fixed-wing aircraft, the braking efficiency is the most essential parameters to evaluate the ABS, especially in slippery road conditions. The braking distance and landing distance of the aircraft depends on it. Since the ABS has been designed and implemented as a subsystem of the aircrafts, the braking performance was evaluated under dynamometer test, where the dynamometer emulates the aircraft mass. Under simulated wet road conditions, the dynamometer starts to be braked. This paper suggests practical braking efficiency calculation methods and the results and finally compares each method.

Incipient Cavitation in a Bulb Turbine: Model Test and CFD Calculation

  • For a certain operating point of a horizontal shaft bulb turbine (i.e. volume flow, net head, blade angle, guide vane angle) the efficiency for different pressure levels (i.e. different Thoma-coefficient ${\sigma}$) is calculated using a commercial Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD-)-code including two-phase flow and a cavitation model. The results are compared with experimental results achieved at a closed loop test rig for model turbines. The comparison of the experimentally and numerically obtained efficiency and the visual impression of the cavitation show a good agreement. Especially the drop in efficiency is calculated with satisfying accuracy. This drop in efficiency in combination with the visual impression is of high practical importance since it contributes to determine the admissible cavitation in a bulb-turbine. It is seen that the incipient cavitation in Kaplan type turbines has no major importance in determing this admissible amount of cavitation.

포토레지스트 surface-Relief 위상형 홀로그라피 분광회절격자의 제작 및 성능평가 (Fabrication of the Photoresist Surface-Relief Phase Holographic Grating and Its Performance Test)

  • Holographic diffraction gratings which are the core element of the optical instruments such as a spectrophotometer have been fabricated using the photoresist as a recording material. A 488nm line from an argon laser is used in making the gratings. Transmission type surface-relief phase grating and reflection type which is fabsricated by coating the aluminum on the transmission type with thickness 2000\ulcornerare fabricated, the spatical frequency of which are 1200 lines/mm. Diffraction efficiency, scattered light and wave-front aberratin are measured to test the performance of the developed gratings. A marimum diffraction efficiency is given when light is incident at the Bragg angle. Theoretical efficiency is about 80%, but measured efficiency of the transmission type and reflection type is 50% and 45%, respectively.

  • This study aims at the optimal design of rotors and the development of screw type Supercharger of CNG-fueled engine for commercial vehicle. Based on the new rotor profile, an advanced oil free type Supercharger has been developed, which can achieve higher adiabatic efficiency and lower manufacturing cost. The performance test of screw type Supercharger has achieved high volumetric efficiency and the durability on the bench of performance test has also been established in the compact body.

  • The simulation analyses of a dish solar power system with stirling engine in this study are applied to system performance prediction if four different test sites; Seoul, Pusan and Cheju in Korea, and Naha in Japan. The effects of difference of concentrator type such as monolithic and stretched-membrane construction on system efficiency are also evaluated. The total amount of generated power for a year depends on the site. However the total maximum system efficiency in every site is approximately 16% and there isnt striking difference. It is also found that the maximum collector efficiency of stretched-membrane concentrator is about 3∼15% lower than that of the monolithic type.

  • The purpose of this study is analysing the characteristics of vehicle fuel economy and greenhouse gase emissions according to driving pattern of drivers. Current fuel economy has not established on official test methods. The difference between actual fuel efficiency and specification fuel efficiency bring up consumer complaints and misunderstandings about fuel economy. Against this background, The country is progressing the study on influence of the fuel efficiency according to variety test conditions. This study analyze the driving pattern of the different drivers and influence of the fuel efficiency according to driving pattern of different drivers.
