Ultrasonic physiotherapy systems should comply with IEC 60601-2-5(particular requirements for safety of ultrasonic physiotherapy equipment) standard for safety of patients and clinical performances. One of the most important parameters in the standard is the effective radiating area ($A_{ER}$). It has to be measured in accordance with IEC 61689 (field specifications and methods of measurement in the frequency range 0.5MHz to 5MHz). Typical ultrasonic physiotherapy system works in the frequency range 1MHz ~ 3MHz to comply with the IEC 61689. However, ultrasonic physiotherapy system using frequencies over 5MHz is out of the IEC 61689's scope. That is, even if such ultrasonic physiotherapy systems are developed by demands of the market, there is no standard to apply. It is the motivation for this study. Whereas there are other parameters to be considered, this study focuses on the effective radiating area and shows effectiveness of applying IEC 61689 in measuring effective radiating area of ultrasonic physiotherapy systems using frequency range over 5MHz by comparing the results of computer simulation and experiment. Results of this study shows that applying the IEC 61689 standard to ultrasonic physiotherapy system using frequency range over 5MHz is possible.
Now many metropolitan electric railways are being constructed on the metropolitan area. But railways now in service have some inefficiency. These railways are operated like subways, for example, all slow trains and fixed train set. So this paper proposes the methods of improvement. For making rapid train, it is showed ' philosophy of rapid train ' that makes rapid train to be main service. And for effective operation, it is introduced flexible train set and 'separation-unification operation'. And for smart railway tracks, it is introduced making loop track and direct connection track between radiating and circular railways. By these methods, a master plan of improvement of metropolitan electric railways is made and vision of the railways becomes common to passengers.
Objective : The purpose of this report is to examine the effects of Scalp Acupuncture therapy in the H.I.V.D patients. Methods : We investigated 30 patients suffering from low back pain with sciatica which were admitted to Cheonan O. M. hospital from Aug. 1, 2001 to Jan. 31. 2002. 30 patients had a diagnosis of herniated lumbar intervertebral disc by Lumbar-C.T or Lumbar-M.R.I. we treated 30 patients by Scalp Acupuncture therapy. Results : 1. We operated Scalp Acupuncture on the foot-motion sensory area(족운동감각구), the sensory area(감각구) 2. In the result of treatment due to clinical symptoms, leg radiating pain was more effective than any other clinical symptoms. 3. The efficacy of Scalp Acupuncture therapy was 83.3%(when we set a standard things more than fair) and 63.3%(when we set a standard things more than good). Conclusions: The Scalp Acupuncture therapy is effective of H.I.V.D patients, but we thought that it needed to prove effects of Scalp Acupuncture therapy for efficient application by more clinical reports.
This paper proposed a microstrip antenna that can perform jamming of satellite signals from the GPS L5, GLONASS G3, BDS B2 frequency bands (1164 - 1217 MHz) that are employed mainly for military purposes among the GNSS frequencies using unmanned aircrafts over the enemy's sky in time of emergency. The single element in the proposed antenna can be easily mounted to unmanned aircrafts. This study analyzed the characteristics of miniaturization and beam of radiating elements by applying the image theories and perturbation effect to satisfy the uniform level at ${\pm}45^{\circ}$ of beam steering goal due to the phase delay after antenna array. The designed microstrip antenna had a miniaturized radiating element area (x-y plane), which was reduced by 76.3% compared to that of basic microstrip antenna, and its beam width was $190^{\circ}$ in the E-plane and $140^{\circ}$ in the H plane. In addition, the simulation was conducted to determine the characteristics due to the phase delay by arranging the designed single microstrip antenna by $1{\times}4$ array and the results showed that beam steering of ${\pm}45^{\circ}$ is possible in the H-plane on the basis of $0^{\circ}$. Thus, the proposed antenna was verified to be effective in satellite signal jamming in the air as it was attached to the lower end of unmanned aircrafts.

This paper proposes a miniaturized high-isolation diversity antenna for wearable wireless body area network (WBAN) applications. An inverted-F type radiating element is used to reduce the overall dimension of the proposed antenna to $30mm{\times}30mm{\times}2.5mm$. The antenna performance on the human body phantom is analyzed through simulation and the performance of the fabricated antenna is verified by comparing the measured data with that of the simulation when the antenna is placed on a semi-solid flat phantom with equivalent electrical properties of a human body. The fabricated antenna has a 10 dB return loss bandwidth over the Industrial Scientific Medical (ISM) band from 2.35 GHz to 2.71 GHz and isolation is higher than 28 dB at 2.45 GHz. The measured peak gain of antenna elements # 1 and # 2 is -0.43 dBi and -0.54 dBi, respectively. Performance parameters are analyzed, including envelope correlation coefficient (ECC), mean effective gain (MEG), and the MEG ratio. In addition, the specific absorption ratio (SAR) distributions of the proposed antenna are measured for consideration in use.
Anatomy: Facet joint syndrome most often affects the lower back and neck and refers to pain that occurs in the facet joints, which are the connections between the vertebrae in the spine that enable the spine to bend and twist. Many physicians have believed that the usual lesion of facet syndrome was an anatomical impairments of facet joint itself.. Facet joint injection using local anesthetics is a reliable method for the diagnosis and treatment for facet syndrome. Etiology: One of many possible causes is imbalances that can occur in stress levels, hormone levels, and nutritional levels. These imbalances can adversely affect posture, which can lead to neck and back pain. The common disorder called facet syndrome exhibits lower back pain, with or without, radiating pain to buttock and thigh due to facet joint arthropathy. Pain in the facet joint is supposedly the secondary effect of narrowing of joint space by sustained muscle contracture around joints. Syndrome: Facet joint syndrome tends to produce pain or tenderness in the lower back that increases with twisting or arching the body, as well as pain that moves to the buttocks or the back of the thighs. Other symptoms include stiffness or difficulty standing up straight or getting out of a chair. Pain can be felt in other areas such as the shoulders or mid-back area. Treatment: Non-drug treatments include hot packs, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and therapeutic exercises. Stimulating blood flow using massage or a hot tub may also help. Alternative treatments include yoga and relaxation therapy. If your pain persists after trying these treatments, a surgical procedure called radiofrequency rhizotomy, which destroys the sensory nerves of the joint, may bring relief. Facet joint injection has been helpful in diagnosis and therapy for this facet syndrome. Radiofrequency thermocoagulation of medial branches is known to be an effective method of relieving pain caused by facet joint problems. We conclude that spasmolytic treatment of muscles connecting the two vertebral articular space would be better for treatment and diagnosis of facet syndrome rather than facet block with local anesthetic and steroid only.

Background: This study was designed to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of traditional Korean medicine treatment for lumbar spinal stenosis as assessed by radiological criteria. Methods: This was an observational study of 122 patients who were diagnosed with lumbar spinal stenosis and admitted to Jaseng Hospital between January 2016 and June 2017. They were analyzed according to sex, age, cause of disease, disease stage, length of admission, type of stenosis, morphological grade, and dural sac cross-sectional area. All patients were treated with traditional Korean medicine. Patients were assessed with the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) and EQ-5D before and after treatment. Results: Regarding the distribution of the factors analyzed, these were of note: more females than males (1:3.52); and highest proportions were age more than 70 years (37.70%), cause of lumbar spinal stenosis unknown (67.21%), and subacute stage (42.62%). Comparing before and after treatment, the NRS score for low back and pelvic pain decreased from $6.14{\pm}1.71$ to $4.28{\pm}1.91$ (p < 0.001), and the NRS score for radiating pain and numbness decreased from $6.27{\pm}1.61$ to $2.02{\pm}1.54$ (p < 0.001). ODI decreased from $46.86{\pm}19.40$ to $33.63{\pm}18.66$ (p < 0.001), and gait-related ODI decreased from $3.34{\pm}1.23$ to $2.80{\pm}1.11$ (p < 0.001). There were no statistically significant differences in improvement of the NRS, ODI, gait-related ODI, and EQ-5D for morphological grade and dural sac cross-sectional area. Conclusion: Traditional Korean medicine is effective treatment for patients with lumbar spinal stenosis. Even in patients with severe radiological findings, it is possible to reduce pain and improve quality of life.
Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate the clinical effectiveness of Korean medical combination treatment for cervical disc herniation. Many out patients of the rehabilitation center complaint a pain caused by suffering of MPS, and it brings many different kind of social and ecinomical problems such as medical expenses and the reduction in work efficiency. Therefore, we conducted a research to present a fast and effective treatment to the MPS patients. this research was conducted from November, 1996 to January 1998 with eighteen outpatients who agreed to be the subjects to our reserach. We applied the electric acupuncture on 28 different trigger point on the patients with mostly muscular-skeletal pain and some tender and radiating pain. After the treatment, VRS, VAS, PRI were used to measure the degree of the pain on the patients third and seventh visits, and following results were found. 1. To apply EAP treatment, we acupunctured 6em-Iong needles on Tps region, then the electrodes of pulse generater pg-306 E.S.T were connected on the top of the needles. the electric acupuncture therapy was conducted for 20 minutes with the intensity of 4hz - 60hz(auto wave). The treated electric intensity was the level at which the patients did not feel discomfort. 2. Thirteen out of the 18 participated patients were in their 30s and 40s(72.2%), showing highest frequency. There were more female than male with the ratio of 1 to 1:2. 3. six out of the participated patients (33.3%) had the pain for less then a week, and the average duration of the pain of the participated patients wear 0.8 years. 4. The pain occured mostly in the upper trapezius by 6 part (21.4%), then in the gluteus medius region by 4 part (14.3%). Many of the patients with the pain in the upper back area accompanied varios kind of the referred pains such as radiculopathy, HIVD and Frozen shoulder. 5. MPS occured more frequently on the right side than left side then left side and it seemed to be due to the frequent use of the right hand. 6. There was almost no difference in the measurement of the intensity of the pain right before and after the EAP treatment. Howerver, there was significant decrease in the numerical values of the VAS, and a little bit of decrease in the numerical values of the PRI after the EAP treatment. 7. Based on the results of this present research, it can be concluded that EAP can be used for the treating the myofascial pain syndrome with promptness and safety in most cases.
