Herbicidal activity and molecular design of benzotriazole derivatives (Benzotriazole계 유도체의 제초활성과 분자 설계)

  • The relationships between the quantitative structure of benzotriazoles and their post-emergence growth inhibiting activity$(pI_{50})$ against Oryzae sativa L. and Echinochloa crus-galli were investigated using a generalized quantitative structure activity relationships (QSAR). According to the QSAR analysis, the free radical parameter $(E_R)$ is a very important factor and the growth inhibiting activity values showed parabolic relation to $E_R$ parameter of para-substituents(X). The activity of (3) was superior to those of (4) and (3b) is selected as the most highly effective compound. The optimal values of $E_R$ parameter of the growth inhibiting activity aganist E.crus-galli are $E_R(3)=0.52\;and\;E_R(4)=0.15$, respectively. From the result of molecular design, the substituents(X) of electron withdrawing properties and $E_R$ parameter of optimal value(0.52) were most desirable for high activity of the benzotriazoles. And in view of this, benzotriazoles may also be effective in blocking the photosynthetic electron transfer.

The Mass Production Weapon System Environmental Stress-Screening Test Design Method based on Cost-effective-Optimization (비용 효과도 최적화 기반 양산 무기체계 환경 부하 선별 시험 설계 방법)

  • Purpose: There is a difficulty in Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) test design for weapon system's electrical/electronic components/products in small and medium-sized enterprises. To overcome this difficulty, I propose an easy ESS test design approach algorithm that is optimized with only one environment tolerance design information parameter (${\Delta}T$). Methods: To propose the mass production weapon system ESS test design for cost-effective optimization, I define an optimum cost-effective mathematical model ESS test algorithm model based on modified MIL-HDBK-344, MIL-HDBK-2164 and DTIC Technical Report 2477. Results: I clearly confirmed and obtained the quantitative data of ESS effectiveness and cost optimization along our ESS test design algorithm through the practical case. I will expect that proposed ESS test method is used for ESS process improvement activity and cost cutting of mass production weapon system manufacturing cost in small and medium-sized enterprises. Conclusion: In order to compare the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, I compared the effectiveness of the existing ESS test and the proposed algorithm ESS test based on the existing weapon system circuit card assembly for signal processing. As a result of the comparison, it was confirmed that the test time was reduced from 573.0 minutes to 517.2minutes (9.74% less than existing test time).

  • In ac PDP(plasma Display Panel), the discharge characteristics is very important to display clear images. In this paper, we have studied the measurement of voltage transfer curves which show the discharge characteristics in AC PDP. The change of the effective wall capacitance during a discharge is also studied. These depend on lateral spreading of charge distribution and the strength of the discharge. As a parameter of the frequency, we observed the effects of the frequency in voltage transfer curves and in effective wall capacitance changes. As frequency increases, minimum sustain voltage and firing voltage decrease. In upper region of gap voltage the chance of the effective wall capacitance is independent of frequency.

  • The thermal conductivity of soils is an important property in energy-related geotechnical structures, such as underground heat pumps and underground electric power cable tunnels. This study explores the effects of geotechnical engineering properties on the thermal conductivity of soils. The thermal conductivities of quartz sands and Korean weathered silty sands were documented via a series of laboratory experiments, and its variations with effective stress, porosity, and water saturation were examined. While thermal conductivity was found to increase with an increase in the effective stress and water saturation and with a decrease in porosity, replacing air by water in pores the most predominantly enhanced the thermal conductivity by almost one order of magnitude. In addition, we have suggested an improved model for thermal conductivity prediction, based on water saturation, dry thermal conductivity, saturated thermal conductivity, and a fitting parameter that represents the curvature of the thermal conductivity-water saturation relation.

  • Rock mass classifications have played an indispensable role in underground construction for several decades. An important issue in rock mass classifications is the selection of the parameters of greatest significance. There appears to be no single parameter that can fully describe a jointed rock mass for underground construction design. In this paper. We find some problems shen applied rock mass classification for underground construction in domestic, analyze the most significant parameters and parameters correlation influencing the behavior of a rock mass, and suggest the Simplied Rock Mass Rating system based on RMR method for effective underground supports.

  • A new method is introduced for the interpolation in NURBS Surface. This method uses the basis functions to assign the parameter values to the arbitrary set of geometric data and uses the iteration method to compute the control net. The advantages of this method are the feasible transformation of the data set to the matrix form and the effective surface generation as a result, especially to the design engineer.

  • In this paper, an adaptive event detection algorithm is proposed, for which we use the statistics of subblock image and adaptive threshold levels. The adaptive threshold level for a parameter binarization is taken by averaging the corresponding paramerter obtained from several input images. As simulation results, it is shown that the proposed algorithm is much more adaptive to the input images and effective in event detection rate than the conventional difference based algorithms.

  • This paper presents a method to determine the rolloff factors of both the digital terrestrial TV modulator and the bandpass filter (BPF) at the digital TV receiver input, using an analytical power spectral density model satisfying given co-channel and adjacent channel protection ratios for the digital terrestrial broadcasting services. Since the proposed method is very simple and effective to use, also can be used regardless of type of systems or modulation techniques, this method is expected to be applied to select some other digital terrestrial broadcasting system specifications.

  • Reliability differentiated pricing (RDP) is known to improve the efficiency and benefits of consumers and producers. Outage costs representing the economic and non-economic consequences of service curtailments to customers can be used as an effective parameter of RDP in electricity markets. This paper examines the theoretical aspects of an RDP scheme, and derives the optimal decisions of consumers and electric utilities for long-term transactions. The proposed RDP is demonstrated through a case study on a wheeling service.

  • Progressively censored variables sampling plans are proposed for the lot acceptance of parts whose life follows Weibull distribution with known shape parameter. Progressive type-II censoring gives us not only time to failure but also degradation information. So, one can construct more flexible and more cost effective sampling plans. Design parameters of our sampling plan are determined by using the usual two-point approach.
