  • World is moving towards digitization at a rapid pace, so the enterprises have developed information systems for management of their business. Empowering educational institutes with information systems are become very important and vital. Doing everything manually is very difficult for students, teachers and staff. Information system can enhance their efficiency and save a lot of time; this research proposed system will solve this issue by providing services like class room reservation, e-library facility, online submission etc. in a secured environment. Up till now limited attention has been paid to utilize robots and drones for automation inside educational institutes. Our proposed system incorporates robots and drones to fill this gap in automation being used in institutes. Through this research, the aim is to improve the efficiency of learning and services in educational institutions or universities.

  • Convergence between telecom and broadcasting is today a worldwide phenomenon. Diverse services like VoD, mobile broadcasting, IPTV and interactive services have already made their market debut or are currently being commercialized. Regulatory systems are also being revised to appropriately regulate this new breed of services. We propose the new model of educational broadcasting system using the internet network, it is not different conventional coaxial cable methods. Especially, we design the multicast method of the network using the limited channel and resource, propose the method of intercommunication in the school between the broadcasting system and database system.

  • This study was initiated to investigate (1) whether consumers preferred a specific garment size labeling system and (2) whether consumer's demographic characteristics, clothing behavior, and body size affect their preference of size labeling systems. The survey of consumer's preferences for five size labeling systems included 443 women with 20 to 64 years of age. The result of the survey showed that the subjects' preferences of five size labeling sysems were different significantly. Subjects strongly preferred the old system rather than the revised systems. The subjects least preferred the system with pictogram(system D) and the system with description of the measuring methods of te control dimensions (system E). The subjects/ preference for various garment size labeling systems was different depending on their resident area, educational level, and body size. The garment size labeling system with more information on body measurements (system C) was preferred by the subjects living in the metro city area or subjects having difficulties on purchasing ready-to-wear garments giving reasonable fit. The simplest size labeling system (system A) was strongly preferred by the subjects of low educational level, or the subjects living in the small city.

  • This paper presents implementation of the adaptive neuro-fuzzy control method. Control performance of the adaptive neuro-fuzzy control method for a popular inverted pendulum system is evaluated. The inverted pendulum system is designed and built as an education kit for educational purpose for engineering students. The educational kit is specially used for intelligent control education. Control purpose is to satisfy balancing angle and desired trajectory tracking performance. The adaptive neuro-fuzzy controller has the Takagi-Sugeno(T-S) fuzzy structure. Back-propagation algorithm is used for updating weights in the fuzzy control. Control performances of the inverted pendulum system by PID control method and the adaptive neuro-fuzzy control method are compared. Control hardware of a DSP 2812 board is used to achieve the real-time control performance. Experimental studies are conducted to show successful control performances of the inverted pendulum system by the adaptive neuro-fuzzy control method.

  • This study used the performance technology model of Robinson and Robinson to diagnose and solve the problems of the "N" organization. The performance relationship map of the "N" organization was constructed based on the results of the benchmarking, surveys, interviews, and participatory observations. According to the results of analysis, the research team suggested several interventions in three areas: textbooks, educational methods, and educational environments. The study concluded that performance technology is a very effective way to see performance problems from a holistic viewpoint and solve the problems scientifically based on this case study.

  • The main purposes of this study was to develop evaluation model, which provides program educational objectives(PEO) evaluation research with guidances on how to evaluate the program educational objectives and procedures in order to enhance the quality of engineering education. Educational objective evaluation is reciprocal processes that depend on and affect one another. Thus, the evaluation component deals with how to identify members' strengths, weakness, and needs, how to assess and improve the effectiveness of curriculum programs, and how to provide data that assist in decision making. After literature reviews about the case studies on the program educational objectives evaluation, this study, to understand the meaning of education evaluation and the engineering accreditation, and then, examined the evaluation model for program educational objectives. This study suggested evaluation components of program educational objectives. In particular, the distinctions between diagnostic, formative, and summative evaluation are discussed. The result of this study is significant in terms of guiding the future evaluation model development for program educational objectives.

  • To improve the educational system of Korea Maritime Police Agency(KMPA), the authors investigate and evaluate the present course and curricula in details comparing with the systems of US Coast Guard and Japanese Coast Guard As a result, it is suggested that KMPA try to recruit good-quality officers through the diverse route, develop the future-oriented educational, system, adjust the course and curricula to meet KMPA's role and mission for 21st century. Besides, it requires that KMPA establishes its own institute to carry out the recruit training and re-freshening courses for both the officers and enlisted person.

  • Since the late 20th century, digital technology has changed our environment in many ways. The representative advanced homes today embed digital facilities such as a sensor infrastructure, a networking system, and ubiquitous display. In this point of view, this study was intended to define the apartment residents' diverse needs for digital home design. The subjects are 400 wives who live in Busan. The findings are as follows; (1) The factors of the housing activities are extracted as 'guest hosting,' 'family entertaining,' 'digital network,' 'daily domestic affair,' 'non-daily domestic affair,' 'media using,' and 'bathing & exercising' activities. (2) The 'digital network activities' occurred more frequently in the households with non-employed wife and preschool children, and with employed wife and preschool and elementary school children. (3) The factors of the digital home system were extracted as 'safety & maintenance,' 'health & convenience,' 'educational & housekeeping,' and 'cultural & entertaining' systems. (4) The needs of non-employed wives for the safety & maintenance and the educational & housekeeping systems are varied by family life cycle and wife age. While, the needs of employed wives for the educational & housekeeping and the culture & entertaining systems are varied by dwelling-size and wife age.

  • This study conducted two surveys to establish an educational system to prevent work-related musculoskeletal disorders. The first survey investigates the factors influencing the recognition of job specifications for risk factor analysts of work-related musculoskeletal disorders. The respondents of the first survey were selected from 173 different small-sized manufacturing enterprises having less than 300 workers and had experienced the inspection of risk factors. The results of the first survey shows that better recognition of job specifications are followed by the increase of education time, but regardless of the positions and periods of job experience. Among the respondents with a high level recognition, the second survey was conducted. According to the results, it is presented that 2, 8, 16 hours are the most suitable for educating workers, superintendents, and risk factors analysts. Based on the results of the second survey, educational contents have also been suggested. This research will provide the basic information when forming education systems to prevent musculoskeletal disorders.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore innovative adaptation of IT systems worldwide to support process-focus assessment. To this end, the study presents four cases from Australia, Singapore, the U.S.A., and Korea to inform educational policy and technology researchers and practitioners. Based on comparing the four chosen cases as benchmarks, the study concluded that IT systems and technologies can expedite and improve school interventions to enhance student learning in terms of time and quality. Also, educational big data and learning analytics can be used to systematically monitor and communicate individual student's progress among school stakeholders (i.e., teachers, students, parents, and administrators). Lastly, the study made some suggestions to support process-focused assessment in schools as following : 1) A more evidence-based, systems approach is needed to integrate the curriculum, instruction, and assessment to bridge the gap between educational policy and school practice; 2) It is critical to create ICT-friendly school environments so that meaningful data could be collected, analyzed, and stored from individual students and school units; 3) Teacher professional development is another area that needs special considerations and support to successfully implement process-focused assessment in schools.
