A study to utilize educational facilities with instructional media in the industrial education (산업 교육에 있어서 교수 매체 활용을 위한 시설.설비에 관한 연구)

  • In industrial education which would meet both ends to offer adult-learner (employee) the opportunity to develop himself and to accomplish business aims, it is very important to use instructional media and to prepare the proper educational facilities and equipments. Therefore, this paper would investigate the following aspects. First, the characteristics and optimal training method of industrial education as an adult-training. Secondly, the meaning of instructional media. Thirdly the contents of proper educational facilities and equipments to apply instructional media. Based on the above mentioned investigation, this paper suggests that instructional media and educational facilities and equipments in industrial education should be utilized integratedly and systematically as component factors of total educational program. And then, the basic directions and ways to establish the most desirable educational facilities and equipments are presented in this paper.

A Study of the Effects of Motive, Expectation and Satisfaction upon the Participation Level or the Students of the Advanced Course for Bachelor of Dental Technology (치기공학과 전공심화과정 학습자의 참여 동기, 교육기관 기대 및 교육만족도가 학습참여에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study analyzed the difference in participation motive, expectation for educational institution and educational satisfaction depending on participation level of students of advanced course for bachelor of dental technology. Methods: 81 students of advanced course for bachelor of dental technology from four university were selected by convenience sampling method. To analyzed influence of participation level depending on participation motive, expectation for educational institution and educational satisfaction, regression analysis was carried out. Results: The participation level of the students was found to be influenced by the educational satisfaction, participation motive and expectation for educational institution. Conclusion: Based on the results, it is important to understand the participation motive of the students and to offer satisfaction environment and administrative support for enhancing the expectation for education for educational institution.

  • Educational facilities have an affect to make a decently learning environment. After constructed, it needs a maintenance plan to keep the performance or function which provide the repair time, repair scope and ratio. But the fundamental data are so insufficient that the field worker can't provide the maintenance plan and has no choice use the other data which concerned with apartment or office building. Above all, the service life is indispensible to make a repair plan because the repair time and scope would be provided within the service life. This study aimed at providing the method to make a service life of component in educational facilities and applying the method into the roof proof and floor finishing. Results are shown that first, it is important to set the $1^{st}$ repair time after constructed. when it proposes the three ways with the probability approach, choice probability model and cumulative cost function. Second, the service life of roof proof is provided with about 35 years. In addition, the service life of the floor finishing is about 40 years. These result would be utilized to conduct the repair plan under the service life.

Relationship between educational satisfaction and learning participation in dental hygiene students (일부 치위생과 학생의 교육만족도와 학습참여도와의 관련성)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between educational satisfaction and learning participation of dental hygiene students. Method: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 344 dental hygiene students in Gyeonggido, Chungcheongdo, and Gyeongsangdo from June 2 to 24, 2014, The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects(3 items), choice reason of dental hygiene(7 items), educational satisfaction(22 items), and learning participation(11 items). The educational satisfaction and learning participation were assessed by Likert 5 points scale. Data were analyzed by a statistical package SPSS WIN 18.0. Results: Educational satisfaction included educational environments, teaching, educational content and educational effect. Learning participation included class flow, class participation and class readiness. Gyeongsangdo students tended to have higher score than other areas. The educational effect and teaching effect had more influence on learning participation. Conclusion: To improve the better dental hygiene education, it is important to prepare the effective educational methods and find out the influencing factors for class immersion.

A Study on Knowledge, Educational Needs and Educational Experience for Indwelling Catheter Management in the Families of Home Care Clients (유치도뇨관 삽입 가정간호대상자 가족의 유치도뇨관 관리에 관한 지식, 교육요구 및 교육경험)

  • Purpose: This study was a predicative survey to provide home care clients with indwelling urinary catheters for furnishing basic educational material to their families by analyzing the family members' knowledge, educational needs and educational experience about indwelling catheter management. Method : The subjects consisted of 108 family members who cared for home care clients with indwelling catheters. Data were collected by home care nurses in nine hospitals in Pusan, who directly interviewed with them through questionnaires from Sep. 6th to 30th in 2004. The questionnaires for data collection were developed through pre-survey and reference review. The collected data was analyzed by using frequency, percentile, mean, variation, t-test, ANOVA on SPSS 10.1 package. Results : There were characters of home care clients with indwelling catheters: women(67.6%) were more than men; the average age of them was $69.60{\pm}14.99$ years old; neurogenic and cerebrovascular diseases(80.0%) were the most common disease group; 81.5% of them were totally dependent on others in terms of level of activity. Home care clients' families had these characters: women(76.9%) were more than men; the average age was $54.5{\pm}13.70$ years old; 46.3% of them were parents or sons or daughters in terms of relation with patient; tl1e average care period was $39.8{pm}34.20$ months. Level of knowledge about indwelling catheter management of the family members were 69.8% and its mean were $20.24{\pm}4.53$. Educational needs were 90.9% and its mean were $14.55{\pm}3.56$. Educational experience were 53.3% and its mean were $8.53{\pm}4.30$. 'Complications in using an indwelling catheter', 'Symptoms to call for a home care nurse' and 'Method to attach an indwelling catheter' were high ranked in both educational needs and educational experience. 'Anatomy of urinary tract', 'Functions of urinary tract' and 'Catheter placement' were low ranked in both educational needs and educational experience Level of knowledge about indwelling catheter management of the families showed a significant difference according to their age(F=5.35, p=0.01). Educational needs showed a significant difference according to care period(F=3.06, p=0.04). Conclusion: the family members' level of knowledge and educational experience about indwelling catheter management and their educational were not sufficient while their educational needs were high. In other words although the family members were acknowledged education needs, but the care for the patients with indwelling catheter weren't performed well because of their lack of related knowledge. Therefore systematic educational programs about indwelling catheter management for home care clients and their families should be made on the base of this study.

Development of Jacket Pattern Drafting Methods for Women with Turtle Neck Syndrome Body Shapes through Virtual Fit Assessment (가상착의를 활용한 거북목 증후군 체형의 여성을 위한 재킷패턴 제도법 개발)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop jacket patterns that could fit well for women in their 20s with turtle neck syndrome body shape and to present a pattern drafting method. As a research method, an educational pattern was chosen through a preliminary experiment. Fit problems of the educational pattern were derived by wearing it on a virtual model with a turtle neck syndrome body type for each neck angle. Based on the three types of experimental patterns developed by supplementing these problems, a development pattern drafting method was developed for each neck angle. Three development patterns were compared and evaluated with the educational pattern using 3D virtual fitting. Fit problems of the educational pattern included: 1) insufficient ease amounts for hip, hem, bicep, elbow, and sleeve hem circumference; 2) horizontal items could not be leveled due to insufficient back length; 3) the shoulder line went backwards; and 4) the front center line did not form a vertical line. To solve these problems, an experimental pattern was developed by increasing the insufficient ease amount, increasing the insufficient back length, and correcting the position of the shoulder line. Measurements that differed in the pattern drafting method of the three types of development patterns by neck angle were positions of back center line and back neck point, front length, and front neck width. Through appearance evaluation of the development pattern and educational pattern by neck angle, the development pattern was highly evaluated, indicating that problems of the educational pattern were improved.

Educational Reform of the Moon Jae-In Government: Issues and Tasks (문재인 정부 교육개혁의 쟁점과 과제 : 교육개혁의 방향과 내용, 추진방식을 중심으로)

  • This study was conducted to review the educational reform of the Moon Jae-In government, to analyze the its issues, and to suggest the tasks for the successful reform at the time since the government of Moon Jae-In was launched just over a year old. To attain the aim, we first examine the characteristics of the Moon Jae-In government, who emerged as a candlelight revolution, and what it means in terms of educational politics perspective. Under this background, this study examined the direction, contents, and implementation method of education reform policy of the Moon Jae-In government. And the study discussed what are the major issues raised in the direction and contents, implementation method of education reform, and what are the future challenges for resolving such issues. In conclusion, based on the discussions of the issues and tasks of the education policy, in order to implement the new educational system in the future, the Moon Jae-In government should take into consideration the discourses related to vision and direction, educational policy to embody them. The results of this study are expected to give an opportunity to examine the direction, content and implementation of policy in the early stage of the government.

Non-destructive assessment of the three-point-bending strength of mortar beams using radial basis function neural networks

  • This paper presents a new method for assessing the three-point-bending (3PB) strength of mortar beams in a non-destructive manner, based on neural network (NN) models. The models are based on the radial basis function (RBF) architecture and the fuzzy means algorithm is employed for training, in order to boost the prediction accuracy. Data for training the models were collected based on a series of experiments, where the cement mortar beams were subjected to various bending mechanical loads and the resulting pressure stimulated currents (PSCs) were recorded. The input variables to the NN models were then calculated by describing the PSC relaxation process through a generalization of Boltzmannn-Gibbs statistical physics, known as non-extensive statistical physics (NESP). The NN predictions were evaluated using k-fold cross-validation and new data that were kept independent from training; it can be seen that the proposed method can successfully form the basis of a non-destructive tool for assessing the bending strength. A comparison with a different NN architecture confirms the superiority of the proposed approach.

  • This paper is concerned with the effective and efficient teaching-learning method with experimental equipments in automobile engineering. For deriving this educational methodology, teaching-learning methods being valuable in engineering education, and troubles and demands for experimental equipments in teaching and learning area are surveyed and reviewed. In results, we suggest the concept of total educational system considering and systemizing an experimental equipment as well as various educational materials such as courseware, teaching and experimental guide, virtual simulator, and operating manual, and so develop the total educational system of electrical engineering for automobile and suggest the application of this system on instruction process.

Coping with Educational Disadvantages of Foster Children : Educational Expectations and Involvement Foster Parents (위탁아동의 학업성취향상 요인에 관한 연구 : 위탁부모의 교육에 대한 관심과 참여 중심으로)

  • This study used secondary data of the Illinois Subsidized Guardianship Waiver Demonstration, Chicago Public Schools and administrative data of the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services. Multiple regression analysis was the main statistical method. Results revealed a positive effect of foster parents' expectations on educational achievement of foster children without disabilities. Among types of educational involvement, 'direct educational activities' showed a positive effect on math and 'supervision reported by children' showed a positive effect on reading achievement. Among indices of the quality of relationship: the presence of kinship ties, permanence achievement, and level of affection between foster parents and children, only level of affection had a significant positive association with both math and reading achievement.
