In addition, this study investigates the moderating effect of participants' self-efficacy and job engagement in the influence of participative motivation on program satisfaction. Questionnaire data from 212 employed learners who participated in one or more educational fashion training programs were analyzed. For the data analysis, SPSS 24.0 statistical package was used. The study results were as follows. First, the participative motives of the educational fashion training program were grouped into the following three factors: goal-oriented, learning-oriented, and organizational support. Second, learning-oriented participative motivation positively affected their program satisfaction. Third, higher program satisfaction led better program performance. Fourth, there was a significant difference in the magnitude of the effect of learning-oriented participative motivation on satisfaction according to self-efficacy. Fifth, there was a significant difference in the magnitude of the effect of goal-oriented participative motivation on satisfaction according to vigor. Even if the participative motivation in an educational fashion training program predicts the program satisfaction, the strength is changed by interacting with the self-efficacy and vigor. The results of the study provide various implications for educators or policy makers who are interested in educational fashion training program development.

  • In today's world, the design industry is becoming more complex, with the development of networks such as the internet and revolutionary changes in information and telecommunications. As the demand for designers to cope with various situations occurring in these industrial sites or solve problems in practice promptly is required, a capstone design program was developed in collaboration with the industry. Capstone design classes have positive effects on creative problem solving ability, academic achievement and learning satisfaction by allowing students to think and experience the practical problems of the industrial field. It is also effective in improving communication, creative thinking and critical thinking. The purpose of this study is to search for talent training methods needed in the fashion industry and to develop effective programs through capstone design class studies conducted in the fourth grade of fashion design majors from 2017 to 2019 (6 semesters). Through these studies, the aim is to search for talent training methods needed in the fashion industry and to develop effective programs. If the capstone design learning method is used as a method of solving problems through close communication between the company and the educational field as an industry-academia cooperation system, it is expected to be positioned as a field-type human resource education method that is required in the industrial field.

  • The purpose of this study is 1) to compare the employment status and wage level of "Clothing and Fashion" major (CF major) graduates with those from other majors and 2) to examine factors affecting the employment status and wage level of CF major university graduates. The data were pooled from the 2009-2012 Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey Data, conducted by Korea Employment Information Service. First, when graduates of CF major were compared with other majors in the same academic area-natural science and arts-, the rate of employment was higher for CF majors than that of other majors; on the other hand, there is no difference in the wage levels between those with graduates in CF majors and those with other majors. Second, we examined factors affecting CF major graduates' employment and wage level based on graduates' individual factors, university factor, and job preparation factors. Employment status of graduates in CF major was predicted by respondent's gender and university type, and work experience. The wage level of CF major graduates was significantly predicted by individual factors (e.g., gender and age, university factors (e.g., university type, university program, location), and job preparation factors (e.g., certificates, overseas experience of foreign language training, English test scores). The results of this study would provide a guide to direct university educational program in order to assess the current capabilities in the field of clothing and fashion.

  • This study investigated how learning motivation affects satisfaction with training and employment services and its performance for participants in government-supported job skill development program of the clothing industry so as to provide fundamental data for developing a training program that fosters professionals and relieves the labor shortage in the clothing industry. 180 copies of questionnaires were statistically analyzed by SPSSWIN 21.0. Most trainees were low-income citizens in their 40s and 50s. They were divided into highly educated or low-educated. The results of the research are as follows: when the trainees were motivated by the goals of getting a certificate or a job, employment service satisfaction levels were influenced meaningfully. Secondly, educational satisfaction levels and occupational ability development also scored highly. Therefore, it is important to strengthen instructors' competency. Instructors must be required to have onsite experience so that they can provide authentic education that can be applied to the work field. The government should establish a compulsory training session for the trainers along with an incentive program so that they can catch up with up-to-date technology and trend. Third, the research shows that supporting business startup and job placement is important. Follow-up management systems should be provided in cooperation with relevant institutions of employment and business startups.
