  • In this paper we studied English listening and speaking test part of foreign language using web and VoiceXML-based education testing system, which is irrespective of time and space. The testing system interface based on VoiceXML consists of user registration module, testing module, and testing result module. User registration module registers user's name and ID, password in user database, and when a tester calls for testing, the User listens to the telephone sound supported by vxml scenario. After that, if a tester logs in, the tester is verified, In the VoiceXML-based education testing system, the manager can reduce time and effort for gaining testing result. The tester listens to the voice by scenario supported by VoiceXML markup language using wire/wireless telephone at any time or anywhere and can improve the effect of foreign language studying by valuating in voice directly. verified. • Providing variable load for testing a motor in high speed conditions is usually a difficult task. The eddy current brake can be used in application of load testing of motors. This paper deals with construction of a novel claw pole eddy current brake which is employed as a load for a DC counter rotating motor (CRM). These kinds of motors have two inner and outer shafts that rotate in opposite directions simultaneously, which are particularly suitable for under water propulsion systems. The prototype 45KW eddy current brake consists of two parts. One of them is installed on the inner shaft of the 60KW DC CRM and the other one is installed on its outer shaft. The simulation and experimental results with prototype brakes are also analyzed by using MATLAB/Simulink and the operational characteristic of the brake is demonstrated as a function of the motor speed and current of the magnetic poles.

  • In this study, a usability evaluation tool was developed for "ICANDUINO", a VR-based mobile application for maker education, and usability evaluation was conducted with a heuristic survey method for experts. The usability evaluation tool was derived through literature review and validated by two experts. It consisted of seven domains (effectiveness, efficiency, satisfaction, learnability, memorability, error, and cognitive load) and twenty-five sub-items. As a result of the usability evaluation conducted for six experts, it received the highest score in the domain of efficiency and the lowest score in the domain of error. The improvements of ICANDUINO were derived by analyzing the qualitative opinions of experts in each of the four stages (training, coding, tinkering, and testing) of making. the results of this study can be used as a guideline when evaluating the usability of a mobile app for education.

  • Due to developments in information technology and ensuing changes in the concept of time and space, the significance of national boundaries has been weakened, bringing to attention the heightened competition among nations. In order to respond to these transformations, the Korean government is increasing its efforts to raise the authenticity of the National Technology Qualification System(NTQS) by closely linking NTQS testing method and procedure to practical knowledge and skills in the industry field. This initiative is based on the recognition that the human resources development is a crucial factor in determining a nation's competitiveness. This study aimed, first of all, to diagnose the problems directly and indirectly affecting the testing method in the current NTQS. And then, differentiated solutions according to grade and improvements in the testing infrastructure were suggested. The ultimate purpose was to provide a blueprint for enhancing national competitiveness through increased authenticity and efficiency of the NTQS. Research methods applied during this study include: the collection and review of qualification-related literature; a series of conferences with leading experts; interviews with vocational educators and researchers from qualification-related institutes; a survey of national qualification holders from a variety of professions and industries; and participatory observation at qualification exam centers. This research suggested policy recommendations as follows; First, measures to improve for testing method of professional engineer Second, measures to improve for testing method of Master craftsman Third, measures to improve for testing method of Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Craftsman Fourth, plans for the establishment of operation system for a computerized testing Fifth, institutional perspective on establishing qualification infrastructure Sixth, operational perspective on establishing qualification infrastructure

  • In this paper, we conducted an analysis of existing materials of material mechanics, surveying educational demands, and selecting art fields for mechanical engineering in collaboration with experts in the fields of aesthetics and renaissance in order to develop educational materials conversed with humanities and arts. In addition, as a core education tool for convergence education, it was developed with an education kits that can be disassembled, assembled and carried by students. As a results of research, education materials were introduced various arts, linked to the engineering thinking. And measurement experiments of material characteristics were carried in a general classroom using developed education kits. From a paper results, the artistic sensitivity of the students will be enhanced and the students' creative problem solving ability will be improved as the ultimate goal of convergence education.

  • This paper proposed new approach for the information gifted discrimination test usign EPL. We tried to distinguish high level thinking in the information gifted through test of this study. We designed discrimination test by the features of EPL and developed testing item tool like single-sprit and multi-sprite. These items are divided into adding block, changing the block order, modifying value io block, and changing a block. We designed this testing tool that the elementary students can solve items without an experience on learning programming language. We expect the testing tool io proposed this study will help to discriminate the information gifted effectively.

  • This study was conducted as a part of the project to evaluate the quality of mathematics instruction in the national curriculum system. The purpose of this study is to measure the consistency between teaching goals of mathematics curriculum, contents presentation of textbooks, and testing including adequacy of each element in mathematics instruction for 8th grade. To do this, we used MIQP (instructional quality profile for Mathematics) developed basing on the instructional quality profile (IQP) in the previous research of the project. First, the quality of textbooks' content presentation for 8th grade was found that the desirable levels in number and operation area and geometric area was relatively less compared to other areas, but it was generally good. Second, it was found that the quality of mathematics testing for 8th grade was good in terms of consistency with the curriculum's teaching goals, consistency with the content presentation of textbooks, and adequacy of testing. However, regional differences in the quality of testing showed that there were some deficiencies in regions outside the metropolitan.

  • Aiming at infrared thermal images with different buried depth defects, we study a variety of image segmentation algorithms based on the threshold to develop global search ability and the ability to find the defect area accurately. Firstly, the iterative thresholding method, the maximum entropy method, the minimum error method, the Ostu method and the minimum skewness method are applied to image segmentation of the same infrared thermal image. The study shows that the maximum entropy method and the minimum error method have strong global search capability and can simultaneously extract defects at different depths. However none of these five methods can accurately calculate the defect area at different depths. In order to solve this problem, we put forward a strategy of "divide and conquer". The infrared thermal image is divided into several local thermal maps, with each map containing only one defect, and the defect area is calculated after local image processing of the different buried defects one by one. The results show that, under the "divide and conquer" strategy, the iterative threshold method and the Ostu method have the advantage of high precision and can accurately extract the area of different defects at different depths, with an error of less than 5%.
