For verification of the program effects in this study, MANOVA and ANOVA were carried out for pre- and post-score tests between the groups, and repeated-MANOVA and paired t-test were peformed to look into the changes within a group by using SPSS/WIN(version 12.0) in terms of statistical analyses. The findings in this study are as follows: First, as a result of post test for the experimental and control groups, and difference verification of post and pre-tests within the experimental group, both career maturity and sub-factors of career maturity demonstrated significant differences. Second, as a result of difference verification of the pre- and post-tests within the experimental group, achievement motivation significantly improved, but there was no statistically significant difference in achievement motivation in the post-test of experimental and control groups. However, of the sub-factors of the achievement motivation, self-confidence and Interest in the long-term future significantly improved. • Background: Community pharmacists play an important role in tobacco control and adequate training on smoking cessation is essential. Materials and Methods: A quasi-experimental pre-test/post-test design was used. A one-day workshop on smoking cessation organized by Indonesian Pharmacists Association as part of PCE program was offered to 133 community pharmacists. The workshop consisted of a 3-hour lecture and a 3-hour role-play session. Pre-training and post-training surveys assessed the impact of training on parameters including knowledge, perceived role and self-efficacy with respect to smoking cessation counseling practices. Intention and ability to perform counseling using the 5A framework was assessed after training only. Results: After PCE, knowledge score significantly increased from $24.9{\pm}2.58$ to $35.7{\pm}3.54$ (p<0.001). Perceived role and self-efficacy in smoking cessation counseling also significantly increased from $25.8{\pm}2.73$ to $28.7{\pm}2.24$, and $27.6{\pm}4.44$ to $32.6{\pm}3.63$, respectively (p<0.001). After the workshop, most participants were willing to ask, advise, and assess patients who ready to quit, but were still less likely to assist in quitting plans and arranging follow up counseling. More than 75% pharmacists were able to perform cessation counseling and 65% of them can completely perform a 5A brief intervention. Conclusions: PCE can enhance pharmacists' knowledge, perceived role, self-efficacy in cessation counseling practices, and create willingness and ability to perform cessation counseling. Future training is recommended to improve skills in assisting quitting plans and arranging follow up.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of counselors who conducted video counseling using digital mask. To this end, the contents of the focus group interview with four counselors who experienced mask video counseling for a total of 10 Korean college student clients were analyzed using thematic analysis method. Participant counselors reported that they had been concerned about mask video counseling before the start but gradually be adjusted to the method. Since they have observed the rapid self-disclosure of the clients and smooth counseling process, they positively predicted the possibility of digital masks as a therapeutic media. They also mentioned the need for additional education and training for the counselors who are using the new on-line counseling media. Therefore, various supports for proactive responses of counselors to online counseling media need to be explored.

  • With the increased use of computers in medical fields, we can consider introducing computer mediated communication into the area of patient care such as medical or health counseling and education. But little was known about what problems can be counseled, what is the main direction of counseling, and what difficulties are met during the computer mediated counseling. So I conducted this study. This is a fundamental study concerning the health counseling by the inter-net. In this study, medical counseling using a method of questioning -answering through a computer mediated communication system was carried out from June 1998 to May 1999. I analyzed the contents of questions and answers by the ICPC classification. The ICPC classification emerged as a standard for information categorization in Primary Health Care within a few years. One of the most prominent features of this classification is the inclusion of the complaints of the patients (symptoms & complaints) and the social problems (Chapter Z). Thus, and for the first time, the demand of patients may be assessed such as it is expressed in the reality. The ICPC list is now an international standard whose validity is not questioned any more. It is translated in more than twenty different languages. The data collected were analyzed by descriptive statistical method, c2 test by cross tabulations. Followings are the results of this study. 1. The 3,054 users composed of 64% of males and 36% of females. The highest number of users was showed in the age group of $25{\sim}29$ (39.4%). 2. During the one-year period, the average number of counseling per user was 2.5 cases and per day was 21.1 cases. 3. In classifying symptoms and complaints by 17 chapter, digestive(17.6%), general and unspecified (12.7%), skin(12.7%) and musculoskeletal system (9.6%) were most common questions. 4. The distribution of diagnosis by 17 chapter, general and unspecified (21.4%), digestive (15.3%), skin (11.9%) and mus- culoskeletal system (8.9%) were most common answers. 5. Many users wanted to know symptoms and complaints(3,609 cases), treatment principles (2,928 cases), prognosis and preventive methods for health problems which were previously diagnosed (284 cases).
