중학생을 대상으로 하는 노인교육 수업안의 개발 (Development of a Lesson Proposal about the Aging for Middle School Students)

  • The Purpose of this study was to develop a lesson proposal about the aging for 7th glade middle school students in the class of home economics. According to this Purpose a lesson Proposal about the aging which contains 1) the nature of generation gap and generational conflicts and problem solving strategies. 2) knowledges about physical. emotional. and social changes of older adults and the process of aging. 3) informations of various order adult-related Professions was devised This proposal will be helpful for younger people to understand older adult much more and to Prepare the adolescents' future life as an older people. It is expected to have effects on decrease the generation gap and conflicts between older and younger people based upon mutual understanding. And it is anticipated that this Proposal will be valuable for many adolescents to have provision about future senior citizen's society and various older adults-related professions .

간호대학생의 노인에 대한 사회적 거리감 영향요인 (Factors Affecting the Social Distance toward Older Adults of Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the factors related to the social distance toward older adults in nursing college students. Methods: The participants comprised 137 students in a nursing college. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires in March 2019. The measurement instruments included social distance scales, the Fact on Aging Quiz (FAQ I), a 20-item semantic differential scale (to assess attitudes), and the perceived elderly stigma scale. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-tests, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson's correlation coefficient, and a multiple regression analysis. Results: The total score for social distance toward older adults was 3.98±0.54 out of a maximum of 5. Social distance had a statistically significant relationship with knowledge (r=.20, p=.022), attitudes toward older adults (r=-.31, p<.001), and elderly stigma (r=-.27 p=.008). The factors affecting social distance were education in geriatrics (β=.33, p=.004), grade (β=-.29, p=.014), attitudes (β=-.21, p=.018), academic major satisfaction (β=.19, p=.028), and knowledge (β=.15, p=.048); the explanatory power of the model was 34%. Conclusion: There is a need for departmental efforts that nursing students acquire correct knowledge about the life and health of the elderly with the aging process and develop positive attitudes toward older adults through various experiences in gerontological nursing practicum and community senior-college student link programs.

『한국노년학』의 교육 분야 연구동향 (Critical Review on Research on Educational Gerontology in the Journal of the Korean Gerontological Society)

  • 본 연구는 한국노년학의 30년(1980년-2008년)간의 노년교육 분야 논문을 분석한 한정란(2008) 이후 최근 10년간 "한국노년학"에 게재된 노년교육 관련 연구를 분석함으로써 우리 사회에서 노년교육학의 연구동향을 파악하고 이를 통해 미래에 노년교육학이 나아가야 할 바를 전망하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 '한국노년학' 28권 3호(2008년 8월)부터 27권 4호(2017년 11월)까지 게재된 총 655편중에서 노년교육 관련 논문 70편을 대상으로 연구대상, 연구유형, 자료수집방법, 자료분석방법, 연구 주제를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 최근 10년간 노년교육 관련 연구는 "한국노년학"에 전체 게재된 연구 중 10.7%에 불과하였으며, 연구대상은 (60세 이상) 일반노인(52.9%)이, 연구유형은 실험연구(41.4%)가, 자료수집방법은 설문조사(42.9%)가, 자료분석방법은 처치-실험집단 간 차이검증(22.9%)이, 마지막으로 연구주제는 노인을 위한 교육(72.9%)이 가장 높은 비율을 차지하였다. 향후 노년교육 연구의 발전을 위해서는 비형식 교육을 넘어서 삶의 경험과 무형식 학습을 통한 교육과 관련한 연구 진행, 노인 집단 내 다양성을 고려한 연구 진행, 비판적 시각을 통해 노년교육에 대한 새로운 견해 제공 등의 노력이 필요할 것이다.

교과서의 노인에 관한 내용 분석 및 교사용 노인교육 자료 개발 (Content Analysis of Aging in the Textbook & the Development of Instructional Materials about Aging)

  • 본 연구는 현행 초$\cdot$$\cdot$고등학교 교과서와 교사용 지도서에 수록된 노인관련 내용을 분석하고, 학교에서의 노인 교육에 반드시 포함되어야 하는 내용 요소를 추출, 체계화하며, 이를 바탕으로 노인 관련 내용의 교수 학습을 도울 수 있는 교육 자료를 개발하는데 목적이 있다. 연구는 3단계의 과정을 거쳐 수행되었다. 첫째, 외국의 관련 교과서 분석과 국내외의 노인교육프로그램에 대한 문헌 분석. 둘째 내용요소 추출과 체계화를 한 전문가 협의단계, 셋째 개발한 교육자료를 현장에서 실험 적용하고 적용전후의 설문조사를 한 현장 적용 단계로 이루어졌다. 개발된 교수 ·학습자료에 대한 교사와 학생들의 반응은 개발된 노인교육 자료가 노인에 대한 인식과 이해에 기여 할 수 있음을 보여주고 있다.

전라도 구곡순담 장수벨트지역에 거주하는 중노년층의 연령군에 따른 여름철 식품 섭취량과 식품 섭취 다양성 및 식이 패턴 평가 (Assessment of Food Consumption, Dietary Diversity and Dietary Pattern during the Summer in Middle Aged Adults and Older Adults Living in Gugoksoondam Logevity Area, Korea)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate food intake, dietary diversity and dietary pattern during the summer in middle aged and older adults living in Gugoksundam (Gurye, Goksung, Sunchang and Damyang counties), Jeonla Province located in southern part of Korea and known as one of the representative Korean longevity areas. Food intake and dietary diversity were assessed by using the data from 2 day-24 hour recall of 1,051 subjects (394 males and 711 females) aged 45 years and older (45-93 years in male, 45-105 years in female). The average ages of males and females were 70.7 years and 71.1 years, respectively. Average total daily food intake was significantly decreased with aging in both genders, and the average animal food intake ratio to total food intake was ranged 10~14% in 3 different age groups, 45~64 years, 65~74 years and 75 years and older. The contribution of each food group, in weight, to total food intake showed the descending order of grains, fruits, vegetables and alcohols in males, and grains, fruits, potatoes and meats in females. On daily intake amount of each food item, rice, watermelon, soju, kimchi, and potato were ranked on top 5 in descending order in males, and rice, watermelon, potato, kimchi and ylmukimchi in females. On intake frequency, rice, kimchi, onion, green pepper and potato were ranked on top 5 in descending order in both genders. Dietary variety score (DVS) and dietary diversity score (DDS) for the assessment of dietary diversity and balance were significantly decreased with aging in both genders. In food group intake pattern (DMGFV), 01101 type without consumption of dairy and fruits was the most prevalent, and only 3.6% of male and 3.9% of female subjects showed 11111 type, consumed all the 5 food groups a day. Dietary pattern of subjects was analyzed by cluster analysis with 18 food groups intake. Overall dietary pattern was classified into two clusters, one was more desirable and the other was less desirable. The percentage of subjects with more desirable dietary pattern was about 15% in male and 32% in female. In conclusion, most of our subjects living in Gugoksundam area were taking very simple diet with low amount of dairy products and fruits. These results indicate that nutrition intervention and education for older people living in rural areas should be focused on various food intake including dairy products and fruits.

노인대상 영양정보 웹사이트 컨텐츠 개발 : 내용분석과 카드소팅과정(Card-sorting process) (The Development of Web-based Nutrition Information Contents for Older Adults : Content Analysis and Card-sorting process)

  • This study was undertaken to develop web-based nutrition information contents for the older adults. Twenty six domestic web-sites were analyzed and then 12 foreign web-sites and 4 education materials for the elderly of foreign university were benchmarked. Also a lot of literatures on elderly education program were reviewed. A card-sorting task was performed with 8 older adults to ascertain how the target audience organized information about nutrition. The results were as fellows. Among 26 domestic web-sites, 2 sites(7.7%) were only for the elderly. Main topics of information contents for the elderly included 'Importance of Healthy Eating', 'DRI', 'Dietary Guidelines'. Four of twelve foreign web-sites were for the elderly nutrition education. Topics of 'Dietary Guideline', 'Meal Program' were found in 4 sites and 'Importance of Healthy Eating', 'Diet & Disease', 'DRI, 'Food Guide Pyramid', 'Nutrition Fact Labels' were found in 3 sites. Education materials of foreign university dealt with basic information on 'nutrient needs changes related with aging', 'Heart & Bone Healthy Eating Plan', 'Food Guide Pyramid'. Also topics on 'Eating on a budget', 'Eating Out Guideline' were included for practical use for the elderly. Based on card-sorting process, contents framework for web-site was developed and 4 main menus for framework were respectively named as 'Nutrition', 'Meals', 'Foods'. 'Check up Nutritional Health' by panel discussion. Finally we developed nutrition information contents for 4 main menus. We focused on helping older adults recognize the importance of healthy eating and apply the nutrition information to practical use. We expect that the developed framework of contents can be a guideline for indentifying the information needs of older adults in developing effective nutrition intervention program. And we suggest that the survey for target people should be peformed for the web-site to be user-friendly designed and the developed contents be evaluated and revised in the near future.

노인간호에 대한 바람직한 태도형성을 위한 교육방안 고찰 (Review of educational strategies to facilitate desirable attitudes toward gerontological nursing)

  • 연구목적: 본 연구는 미국의 학부 간호교육에서 노인간호에 대한 바람직한 태도를 강화하기 위해 시도된 새로운 교육적 접근법을 고찰하고 국내 간호교육에서의 적용방안을 모색하고자 수행되었다. 연구방법: PubMed, CINAHL의 검색엔진을 사용해 미국 John A. Hartford 재단의 지원으로 노인간호교육을 위한 획기적인 전략개발 프로젝트를 수행한 간호대학의 연구 8편과 그 외 다양한 교육적 방안을 고찰한 논문 4편을 포함한 12편의 연구를 고찰하였다. 연구결과: 노인간호에 대한 올바른 태도형성을 위해 제시된 교육적 접근법은 다음의 네 가지로 구분할 수 있다: 1) 노인간호에 대한 간호전공교과 간의 연계교육, 2) 지역사회 노인의 교육적 멘토 역할, 3) 시청각 매체의 활용, 4) 자기성찰을 통한 토론학습. 향후 응용: 국내 간호교육에서의 효과적인 적용을 위해서는 연계교육을 위한 간호전공교과목 간의 긴밀한 협의 및 교육과정의 탄력적 운영을 위한 교육행정부서의 협조가 수반되어야 한다. 또한, 교육기관과 지역사회와의 긴밀한 파트너십을 구축함으로써 지역사회 노인이 교육적 멘토로 참여하는 방안을 적용해 나갈 수 있다. 무엇보다, 노인간호에 대한 바람직한 태도형성을 위한 간호교육의 중요성을 인식하고 교수자의 교육역량강화와 새로운 교수법 개발을 위한 지속적 노력이 요구된다.

한국노년학 30년을 통해 본 노년교육 관련 연구 (Critical Review on Educational Gerontology in Journal of the Korean Gerontological Society)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 지난 30년 동안 <한국노년학>에 게재되었던 노년교육 관련 연구논문들을 분석해 봄으로써 왜 아직까지 노년교육학이 우리 사회에서 그리고 노년학 안에서 제 위치를 확보하지 못하고 있는지 그 원인을 분석해보고, 앞으로의 노년교육학이 독립적인 학문분야로서 성장하고 발전하기 위해서 어떤 변화가 요구되는지에 대하여 전망해 보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 "한국노년학" 1권(1980년)부터 28권 3호(2008년 8월)까지에 게재된 논문 770편 중 노년교육 관련 논문 55편을 대상으로 게재시기, 연구비 지원기관, 저자들의 소속기관, 연구대상, 연구유형, 자료수집 방법, 자료분석 방법, 연구 주제 등을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 지난 30년간 "한국노년학"에 게재된 논문 770편 중 노년교육 관련 논문은 단 55편뿐이었다. 그 중 대학에 소속된 연구자가 단독으로, 연구비를 지원받지 않고, 노인을 대상으로, 설문조사를 통하여, 두 가지 이상의 통계방법을 적용하여 노인을 위한 교육을 주제로 행한 조사연구가 가장 많은 비중을 차지하였다. 따라서 향후 노년교육 연구의 발전을 위해서는 노년교육 전문학자 양성을 위한 전공 및 교과목 설치, 노년교육에 대한 연구지원 확대, 다양한 연구방법과 다주제, 대상을 지향하는 연구노력 등이 요구된다. 그리고 무엇보다도 이러한 노력들 이전에 우리 사회 전반에서 노인들의 학습자로서의 역량 및 노년교육에 대한 관심이 확대되어야 할 것이다.

성인의 골다공증에 대한 지식과 실천에 관한 조사연구 (A Study on Knowlege and Practices about Osteoporosis in Adults)

  • Osteoporosis is a major health problem in countries with aging populations, resulting in excess morbidity and mortality. This study was conducted to investigate knowledge and practices about osteoporosis in adults and to identify some factors which were influenced to that. 56-item questionnaire was developed including five domains(general characteristics, osteoporosis-related characteristics, knowledge of risk factors, knowledge of prevetion and practices). Subjects of this study were 368 adult ranged from 30 to 59. Data were collected during the period from June 15 to July 10, 1998 by means of a structured questionnare. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Post Hoc, Pearson Correlation by SPSSWIN program. The results were as follows: 1. The mean knowledge score of risk factors for osteoporosis was 7.46(full score=15) and that of prevention of osteoporosis was 8,79(full score=12). 2. The mean practice score of osteoporosis was slightly higher than median value. 3. Women had better knowledge about osteoporosis risk factors and practiced more osteoporosis-prevention measures than men. Although the data demonstrated fairly good general knowledge about osteoporosis in the subjects, the older group(age 50-59), those at the highest risk of developing the disease, knew less about osteoporosis than the younger group(age 30-39) did. 4. The persons who had heard about osteoporosis and bone mineral density though mass media medical pratitioners and who didn't take any medicine for osteoporosis had better knowledge about osteoporosis and preventive measures. The practice score was significantly higer in the postmenopausal women and persons who were already diagnosed as osteoporosis patients, or who underwent bone mineral density measurements. 5. The relation between knowledge and practice was significant. In conclusion, there was a modest degree of general knowledge about osteoporosis and its consequences in adults. Further randomized studies are needed to evaluate the relationship between osteoporosis and risk factors. However, these results support the importance of education to prevent osteoporosis.

노화 제어를 위한 전통 편의식 개발 가능성에 대한 연구 (A Study of Possibilities on Developing of Traditional Convenience Foods for Anti-aging Control an Analysis of Public Perspectives)

  • This study was performed to the possibility of developing anti-aging convenient food that is to Koreans' taste. Editor: this abstract appears to describe a study of public opinion and not related to the development of anti-aging convenient foods. In total, The 150 adults, living in Seoul (Korea), participated in this study in the capacity of subjects. Editor: You really have to mention the age-range of the subjects, as senility is an old age disease. In particular, you talk about the intention of subjects (discussed below) to buy anti-aging food products. This would be directly related to their age, as I assume that older people would be more concerned about senility that relatively younger subjects. They were randomly assigned to 25 groups. In result initial descriptive analysis revealed that, 82 percent of subjects awoke to were aware of senility, and the while 26.7 percent were seriously thought of it concerned. Furthermore, The 58.7 percent said that believed food has the possibility has a role in of controlling senility, and the while 64.0 percent said stated that senility may be controlled by eating constitutional foods. Further comparative analysis of In the case of the group of which members subjects have been who were trying to control senility revealed that their, the reliance on food general and constitutional food was significantly higher than those who have not tried to do so did nothing. The From the 61.3 percent have been of subject who were trying to control senility, from among them, the 74.0 percent and the 22.7 percent were relied on physical taking exercises and anti-aging foods, respectively. Likewise, it was ascertained When asked whether subjects intend to purchase anti-aging convenient food if it was is developed. The 67.3 percent and the 72.7 percent indicated their intentionded to purchase the normal product and constitutional products, respectively. Resultantly, anti-aging convenient food was in demand to some extent. Given that anti-aging products are in high demand, In such a case, senile severity (p<0.05), anti-aging possibility in constitutional foods (p<0.001) and anti-aging action (p<0.001) are regarded as variables in the purchase of the normal products. In the case of relation to constitutional products, anti-aging possibility in constitutional food (p<0.001) and anti-aging action (p<0.001) were regarded as variables.
