원통형결함에 대한 와전류탐상의 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis of ECT with Axisymmetric Crack)

  • In this paper a numerical analysis method for eddy current testing (ECT) with axisymmetric crack is studied. The finite element method(FEM) is used for electromagnetic solution. In this paper the outer diameter crack of INCONEL 600 tube is modelled and the impedance signal is obtained using the differential probe. The characteristics of the crack depth variation in the signal are analyzed.

  • From September 1990 to December 1994, author had treated by acupuncture for 75 cases of strained headache. The results were as follows. 1. There were some kind of head-ache, posterior head-ache( 32.0 % ), lateral head-ache( 28 % ), whole head-ache( 25.3 % ), floating head-ache(8.0%), upper head-ache( 4.0 % ), front head-ache( 2.7 % ). 2. The causes of head-ache were indistinctness ( 34.7 % ), sensibility ( 53.3 % ), indigestion( 12.9 % ), ect. 3. The combined symptoms were indigestion, constipation, sensibility, hypertention, muscle-ache, ect. 4. There were effects of acupuncture treatment, unavailability (25.3 %), availability (74.7 %). 5. There were availability in according with increasing treatment.

원전 SG 화학세정 환경에서 EDTA가 결함 Ni-Cr-Fe 합금에 미치는 영향 연구 (The Study of Effect of EDTA(Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) to the defected Ni-Cr-Fe Alloy in the Steam Generator Chemical Cleaning of the Nuclear Power Plant)

  • 증기발생기 화학세정 모사 장치를 이용하여 고농도 화학세정(EPRI/SGOG) 용액인 EDTA(20%)가 인위적으로 제작한 결합 시편에 미치는 영향 평가를 수행하였다. 평가 방법은 세정 전 후 표면 산화막 성분, ECT 분석값 비교, 증기발생기 구성 재료 부식률를 이용하였다. 화학세정 전후 부식률은 A508은 $8.023{\mu}m$, Alloy 600(HTMA)은 $0.007{\mu}m$이며 갈바닉 시편의 경우 $63.193{\mu}m$로 모두 부식 허용치 이내이다. 표면 산화막 성분 및 ECT 분석값 역시 변함이 없었다. 이와 같은 결과로 화학세정 용액인 EDTA는 결함 튜브에 미치는 영향이 없는 것으로 판단된다.

Effect of Moisture Loss on Development of Distresses in Concrete Pavements

  • Evaporation of concrete influences the development of both initial transverse cracking and delamination in the concrete slab. It was suggested that spatting distress might develop in the slab where the initial transverse cracking occurred by theoretical equations and a field investigation. Thus, efforts to prevent the evaporation of concrete using proper curing methods are required to minimize the distresses of the slabs. Effective curing thickness (ECT) concept was used in this paper to evaluate various curing methods used to prevent the evaporation from concrete. Curing effectiveness quantified by the ECT of different types and amounts of curing compound under various curing conditions was investigated based on the results of laboratory tests. According to the test results, the wind speed is inferred to be a significant factor of the magnitude and continuance duration of the curing effectiveness.

  • The signals of the eddy current testing(ECT) for the examination of the steam generator(SG) tubes in the nuclear power plant(NPP) determine the existence, size, and kind of defects using the variation of impedance signals when a testing coil, driven by alternating current, passes through the SG tube contains defects. The aim of this paper is building a database of the RPC probe signals on the basis of the sizes variation of defects and frequency variation of probe. In this paper 3-D numerical analysis of the ECT signals using the finite element method is performed. Through this study, it is shown variation of magnitude and phase of impedance according to variation of defect size and frequency. From the result of this paper, we can obtain the information which is useful in defect discrimination of SG tube in nuclear power plant.

A Study on the Chemical Cleaning Process and Its Qualification Test by Eddy Current Testing

  • Steam Generator (SG) tube, as a barrier isolating the primary coolant system from the secondary side of nuclear power plants (NPP), must maintain the structural integrity for the public safety and their efficient power generation. So, SG tubes are subject to the periodic examination and the repairs if needed so that any defective tubes are not in service. Recently, corrosion related degradations were detected in the tubes of the domestic OPR-1000 NPP, as a form of axially oriented outer diameter stress corrosion cracking (ODSCC). According to the studies on the factors causing the heat fouling as well as developing corrosion cracking, densely scaled deposits on the secondary side of the SG tubes are mainly known to be problematic causing the adverse impacts against the soundness of the SG tubes [1]. Therefore, the processes of various cleaning methods efficiently to dissolve and remove the deposits have been applied as well as it is imperative to maintain the structural integrity of the tubes after exposing to the cleaning agent. So qualification test (QT) should be carried out to assess the perfection of the chemical cleaning and QT is to apply the processes and to do ECT. In this paper, the chemical cleaning processes to dissolve and remove the scaled deposits are introduced and results of ECT on the artificial crack specimens to determine the effectiveness of those processes are represented.

3차원 관결함에 대한 와전류탐상의 유한요소해석 (Finite Element Analysis of Eddy Current Testing for Tubes with 3-Dimensional Defects)

  • 본 논문에서는 3차원 형태의 결함을 가진 관에 대한 와전류탐상의 유한요소 수치해석에 대하여 연구하였다. 3차원 와전류탐상 문제를 기술할 수 있는 전자기 수치해석기법으로 3차원 유한요소법을 사용하였다. 맥스웰방정식으로부터 지배방정식을 구하고, 갤러킨 가중잔차법을 이용하여 유한요소정식화를 수행하였다. 해석대상으로는 INCONEL 600 증기발생기 전열관을 사용하였으며, 관의 내부 및 외부에 존재하는 결함을 모델링하여 수치해석을 수행하고, 임피던스로 표현되는 와전류탐상 신호를 계산하였다. 결함 시험편에 존재하는 결함에 대하여 본 논문에서 계산된 결과와 실험결과를 비교하였으며, 잘 일치하는 결과를 얻어 본 논문에서 제안된 수치해석 방법의 타당성을 검증하였다. 이를 바탕으로 결함의 깊이 변화(38%, 58%, 75%) 및 원주방향으로의 결함각도 변화$90^{\circ},\;180^{\circ},\;270^{\circ},\;360^{\circ}$)에 따른 탐상 신호를 계산하여 결함의 크기변화에 따른 신호의 변화특성을 살펴보았다.
