How a Convergence Product Affects Related Markets: The Case of the Mobile Phone

  • Analyzing the diffusion of a convergence product is a new and challenging research field. It is very difficult to find research dealing with this issue due to the inherent complexity and lack of data. In analyzing the diffusion of a convergence product, we should simultaneously take into account its relationship with related single-function products because of their similarities in terms of technology and functionality. In this study, we empirically analyze the diffusion of the convergence mobile phones in South Korea and find that the convergence products can affect the diffusion of MP3 players and digital cameras positively or negatively. This research may be significant for business strategies in technology management and product development.

  • This study is a discussion about specific directions and strategies for development of subsequent curriculum of practical arts(technology ome economics) based on two issues ; developing curriculum which is 'connecting elementary-secondary course' and 'based on key competence'. Specific Study is as in the following. First, in the aspect of home economics, this study explored the meaning of connection between elementary-secondary courses, and in the process of curriculum development, we explored implicit problems through strategies that come out from elementary-secondary courses. Second, we search what the key competence is in terms of home economics, and the meaning of developing curriculum based on the key competence. For this, we examine the meaning of development of subject matters curriculum based on key competence and the conditions and tasks for developing curriculum for home economics based on key competence. Third, on the basis of discussion we explore the way to realize these two issues, already mentioned, into development of subsequent curriculum for home economics. For this, this study examines the academic interaction between home economics of elementary and secondary courses unifying the names of the subject, systematic understanding about development of curriculum based on key competence, finding strategies for appealing the subject, and practical instances. Through this study, we expect more active interaction between home economics from elementary and secondary courses and academic discussion for development of curriculum.

Influence of Components of Internal Control on the Effectiveness of Internal Control: Evidence from Transport Construction Enterprises in Vietnam

  • The research purpose of the article is to evaluate the effects of the internal control components on the effectiveness of internal control of transport construction enterprises in Vietnam, on the basis of which we made recommendations to contribute to improving the effectiveness of internal control. Sample was collected from Vietnamese medium and large transport construction enterprises, the total number of sample questionnaires sent was 400, 330 filled-up questionnaires was collected and 250 was used for the study purpose. Quantitative research method was used for the study with the help of the SPSS software. The variables in the model are as follows: the dependent variable is the effectiveness of internal control, 5 independent variables are: control environment, risk assessment, control activities, communication, and monitoring. The results of the analysis explain 80.4% variation as a result of the effect of internal control on the Vietnamese transport construction enterprise. All five components positively affect the effectiveness of internal controls in the order of influence, which are: control activities, control environment, communication, risk assessment and monitoring. This study contributes in providing more empirical evidence about the effects of internal control components on the effectiveness of internal control of transport construction enterprises in Vietnam. The study has proposed a number of recommendations to help transport construction enterprises improve control activities and contribute towards improving the effectiveness of internal control.

  • This study is to respond to the urgent demands of both society and times on public schools in regards to training an educated person who can cope with the financial environment of this diversified modern society. Therefore, this study will explain the concept of Financial Consumer Education and its trends of several other countries. By focusing on the current state of Korean Financial Consumer Education, it will call attention to the needs of introducing Financial Consumer Education to the school curriculum in order to educate students about finance systematically. To support our viewpoint, this paper analyzed and organized the materials concerning Financial Consumer Education in two curricula (2007 and 2011 Revised National Curriculum), and in a Practical Arts (Technology Home Economics) textbook of the 2007 revised version. Hence, the purpose of this study is to explore the desired direction and revitalization of Financial Consumer Education by analyzing the existing curricula. Even though the content of finance education begun from one of the subcategories of consumer education called 'Financial Management,'the number of research about financial education through public education has been increased in response to the social and academic consensus. Therefore, we suggest the re-conceptualization of consumer education for financial education is necessary. Therefore, this paper suggests that Financial Consumer education in a Practical Arts (Technology Home Economics) should not be regarded as only one of the components of Consumer Education. Instead, by raising it to the status of Financial Customer Education, it is required to teach the learners to improve their personal financial management skill as well as to help them achieve financial knowledge, skill, and attitude as financial consumer.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze ‘consumer education system in middle school’, whether it is suitably organized to help students make the right decision in their daily life as a rational consumer in this fast changing “the Informational Society”. We divided the consumer education of “the Informational Society” into 4 fields of studies(consumer information technique, decision making on purchasing, consumer financial management, and consumerism) and made specific analysis for this research. The “Technology & Home Economics” textbook which follows ‘The 7th curriculum’ conducted by “Korean Educational Board” Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development for first and second grade in middle school were used for this analysis. The results founded are as follows: first, for the curriculum analysis according to the 4 fields of consumer education, both the first and the second grade students' textbook had consumer information technique as the major portion of the consumer education. Second, as a result of the comparison between the two grade levels showed that the second grade level has higher portion of consumer education in “Home economics & Technology” textbook than the first grade level. Third, the present status of consumer education showed that the first grade level's consumer education was only limited in consumer information technique, but the second grade level's consumer education was ranging evenly throughout the 3 fields of consumer education: consumer information technique, decision making on purchasing and consumerism. These results of this study contribute to the development of an efficient and desirable curriculum for the adolescent' consumer education, specially for school consumer education, in “the Informational Society”.

The Effects of Lesson Using Multiple Intelligences Theory in Technology${\cdot}$Home Economics on Middle School Student's Self-Esteem: Focused on the Resource Management and Environment Unit (다중지능 이론에 기초한 기술가정과 수업이 중학생의 자아존중감에 미치는 효과: 자원의 관리와 환경 단원을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of the study was to examine the effects of the lesson using Multiple Intelligence on self-esteem in the unit of Resources management and environment in Technology${\cdot}$Home Economics of middle school. In this study, the lesson using Multiple Intelligence theory for six hours was developed and applied to a class of 37 students of middle school as an experimental group. Lecture-style lesson was applied to the other class of 37 students as a control group. Significant differences between pre-test and post-test scores of self-esteem were found in the experimental group. Post-test scores of self-esteem were higher than pre-test scores of self-esteem in the experimental group. There were no significant differences between pre-test and post-test scores of self-esteem in the control group. It was found that the lesson using Multiple Intelligence theory was effective in improving self-esteem of middle school students.

  • This study aims to examine the effect of perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEU), trust (TR), subjective norm (SN), and attitude (AT) on customer's Intention to Adopt Internet Banking (IAIB) at Islamic banks and conventional banks before and during the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The research model is based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This study involves 213 respondents for Islamic banks and 410 respondents for conventional banks from 25 provinces in Indonesia. Data was analyzed using partial least square (PLS) regression with the Structural Equation Model (SEM) method. The result of data analysis confirms several hypotheses taken from the literature. The results before the Covid-19 pandemic showed that AT and SN influence IAIB in Islamic banks. Whereas in conventional banks, AT, PU, SN, and TR influence IAIB. While during the Covid-19 pandemic, it shows that the AT, PU, IB, SN, and customer TR influence IAIB in Islamic banks and conventional banks. From the analysis, it was found that the PEU variable did not have a significant effect on the intention of customers of Islamic banks and conventional banks to use Internet banking.

  • The study seeks to identify the determinants of the adoption of e-commerce by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in developing countries, in our case, in Indonesia. The aim of this study is to examine the factors influencing e-commerce adoption. This study uses the method of quantitative data collection based on a questionnaire survey of SMEs in Indonesia. The research relies on Regional Project stipulations regarding Business Development in Indonesia, to capture businesses with a range of 5 to 100 employees that are classified as SMEs. This study randomly chose 100 SMEs in Indonesia from the IndoNetwork database. Partial least square (PLS) structural model data processing was used for path coefficients analysis. Structural equation modeling is applied in this study to analyze the determinant factors on the e-commerce adoption. The study findings reveal that four factors, namely, perceived benefits, compatibility, technology readiness, and government support, significantly influence the adoption of e-commerce, whereas customer/supplier pressure does not have influence. So, this study concludes that perceived benefits, compatibility, technology readiness, and government support had a significant and positive relationship with e-commerce adoption. Meanwhile, customer/supplier pressure had no effect on the e-commerce adoption of by Indonesia SMEs.

  • With the development of the economy and the improvement of living standards, the hot issues in the subject area have become the main research direction, and the mining of the hot issues in the subject currently has problems such as a large amount of data and a complex algorithm structure. Therefore, in response to this problem, this study proposes a method for extracting hot keywords in scientific journals based on the improved BERT model.It can also provide reference for researchers,and the research method improves the overall similarity measure of the ensemble,introducing compound keyword word density, combining word segmentation, word sense set distance, and density clustering to construct an improved BERT framework, establish a composite keyword heat analysis model based on I-BERT framework.Taking the 14420 articles published in 21 kinds of social science management periodicals collected by CNKI(China National Knowledge Infrastructure) in 2017-2019 as the experimental data, the superiority of the proposed method is verified by the data of word spacing, class spacing, extraction accuracy and recall of hot keywords. In the experimental process of this research, it can be found that the method proposed in this paper has a higher accuracy than other methods in extracting hot keywords, which can ensure the timeliness and accuracy of scientific journals in capturing hot topics in the discipline, and finally pass Use information technology to master popular key words.

Impact of Information and Communication Technology on Economic Growth and Population Health in Malaysia

  • The paper aims to examine the association between information and communication technology (ICT), economic growth and population health based on health production model in Malaysia. This theoretical health production function is represented as follows: where the output is an individual health outcome, and the inputs are determinants of health, such as income, education, health care costs, medical facilities, the environment, and lifestyle. The development of information and communication technologies are represented as of mobile cellular subscriptions (per 100) and fixed telephone subscriptions (100) using time series data from 1993-2017 from the World Bank database. Using the bound testing technique of cointegration, this study finds that ICT affects population health significantly and positively in the long- and short-run. This is because ICT inclusion improves human health and longevity. Whereas, economic growth has no significant impact on the population's health both in the short- and long-run. The findings indicate that a weak global economy affects Malaysia's economic growth and reduces the health expenditure per capita. The results of this study suggest that policymakers must develop policies that improves public health by increasing health literacy, disseminating health information and facilitating medical facilities. This study also suggests that health care systems should to concentrate on digital inclusion.
