  • UBV observations of the primary eclipse of Algol-type long period eclipsing binary AY Persei have been successfully made using the 61-cm reflector at the Ilsan Station of Yonsei University Observatory in September and October, 1989. These light curves furnish ones to deduce following results; (1) the total duration of the eclipse lasted for about 0.066(0.78 days) with no clear evidence of the existence of the totality, (2) the depths of mid-eclipse of $0^m.91$ and $1^m.07$ for V and B, respectively, (3) two times of minimum light, JD2447820.203 and JD 2447820.200 for V and B, respectively, and (4) no period variation with the improved light elements, Min I =JD2427152.237+$11^d.776620e$, $pm$10 $pm$4 are made.

  • We present a mathematical model that predicts the variation of illuminance during a solar eclipse, considering continuous effects of limb darkening. We assume that (1) the Sun and the Moon constitute perfect spheres, (2) the Moon crosses the Sun with a constant apparent velocity, and (3) sunspots, prominences, and coronae can be neglected. We compare predictions of this model with actual measurements made by M$\ddot{o}$llmann & Vollmer (2006) during a total solar eclipse in Turkey, and with predictions of existing models. The new model is shown to describe the actual phenomenon more accurately than existing models.

  • We had a campaign of observing the annular solar eclipse on 2012 May 21 by naked eye through eclipse eyeglasses to determine the limit line of annularity. As a result, we had about 15,000 reports through our website. In addition there were many observation groups for which about 30,000 people in total participated in the observations. The overall result was that the limit we observed by naked eye through eclipse glasses coincided with a prediction that took into account the lunar limb irregularity within the error of ${\pm}500m$. This error of the limit line location corresponds to about ${\pm}200km$ of the radius of the Sun.

  • Eclipse is an open integrated environment for software development, rapidly emerging as the de facto standard for developing java applications. Also, it is easily extensible since new functions for the environment can be added through the installation of various plug-in modules. WebDAV is an IETF standard protocol, which is an extended version of HTTP 1.1, supporting asynchronous collaborative authoring of various contents on the web. In this paper, we describe the development of the DAVSpace plug-in which enables programmers to use remote workspaces offered by WebDAV servers as project workspaces for software development in Eclipse. Based on the WebDAV protocol, DAVSpace supports the management of resources on the remote workspaces associated with projects in Eclipse. Using DAVSpace, we can create a project in Eclipse on a designated remote workspace in addition to the default local workspace. Whenever an event for storing a resource is generated, DAVSpace stores the resource into both workspaces. Thanks to DAVSpace, developers can effectively proceed their projects regardless of where they are located.

  • Background: We analyzed changes in the doses, structure volumes, and dose-volume histograms (DVHs) when data were transferred from one commercial treatment planning system (TPS) to another commercial TPS. Materials and Methods: A total of 22 volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) plans for nasopharyngeal cancer were generated with the Eclipse system using 6-MV photon beams. The computed tomography (CT) images, dose distributions, and structure information, including the planning target volume (PTV) and organs at risk (OARs), were transferred from the Eclipse to the MRIdian system in digital imaging and communications in medicine (DICOM) format. Thereafter, DVHs of the OARs and PTVs were generated in the MRIdian system. The structure volumes, dose distributions, and DVHs were compared between the MRIdian and Eclipse systems. Results and Discussion: The dose differences between the two systems were negligible (average matching ratio for every voxel with a 0.1% dose difference criterion = $100.0{\pm}0.0%$). However, the structure volumes significantly differed between the MRIdian and Eclipse systems (volume differences of $743.21{\pm}461.91%$ for the optic chiasm and $8.98{\pm}1.98%$ for the PTV). Compared to the Eclipse system, the MRIdian system generally overestimated the structure volumes (all, p < 0.001). The DVHs that were plotted using the relative structure volumes exhibited small differences between the MRIdian and Eclipse systems. In contrast, the DVHs that were plotted using the absolute structure volumes showed large differences between the two TPSs. Conclusion: DVH interpretation between two TPSs should be performed using DVHs plotted with the absolute dose and absolute volume, rather than the relative values.

  • Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) has been developing the Camera System for the Total Solar Eclipse (TSE) observation. In 2016 we have assembled a simple camera system consisting of a commercial camera lens, a polarizer, bandpass filters, and a Canon camera to observe the solar corona during the Total Solar Eclipse in Indonesia. For 2017 TSE observation, we have studied and adapted the compact coronagraph design proposed by NASA. The compact coronagraph design dramatically reduces the volume and weight, and used for TSE observation. The camera is used to test and verify key components including function of bandpass filter, polarizer, and CCD during observing the Total Solar Eclipse. In this poster we focus on optical engineering works including designing, analyzing, testing, and building for the TSE observation.

  • Analysis and Tracking of bug reports is a challenging field in software repositories mining. It is one of the fundamental ways to explores a large amount of data acquired from defect tracking systems to discover patterns and valuable knowledge about the process of bug triaging. Furthermore, bug data is publically accessible and available of the following systems, such as Bugzilla and JIRA. Moreover, with robust machine learning (ML) techniques, it is quite possible to process and analyze a massive amount of data for extracting underlying patterns, knowledge, and insights. Therefore, it is an interesting area to propose innovative and robust solutions to analyze and track bug reports originating from different open source projects, including Mozilla and Eclipse. This research study presents an ML-based classification model to analyze and track bug defects for enhancing software engineering management (SEM) processes. In this work, Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Naive Bayesian (NB) classifiers are implemented using open-source bug datasets, such as Mozilla and Eclipse. Furthermore, different evaluation measures are employed to analyze and evaluate the experimental results. Moreover, a comparative analysis is given to compare the experimental results of ANN with NB. The experimental results indicate that the ANN achieved high accuracy compared to the NB. The proposed research study will enhance SEM processes and contribute to the body of knowledge of the data mining field.
