  • The use of digital filters in the signal processing field is increasing rapidly with development of the modem industrial society, and generally digital filter is classified into FIR (infinite impulse response) fillers and FIR (finite impulse response) filters. The FIR digital filter has the phase linearity and the easiness of creation. In the design of the FIR digital filter, the window function is used to alleviate ripples caused by Gibbs Phenomenon around the cut-off frequency of the passband. In this paper, we designed a new window function and compared with existing Manning, Hamming and Blackman window functions. And we used peak side-lobe and transient characteristics as standard of judgement.

  • Reaseach efforts regarding the handicap system for the fair determination of the ranking of yacht racing for various sizes have started in the end of 19th century led by Europe and America. The development of the handicap system started in 1952 as inshore and offshore races began. A simple empirical handicap system has been selected by IOR and IMS rule in mid 70's, and more advanced technique based on theoretical and computer simulation has been selected in late 70's by IMS rule. While each techniques have relative merits, it is found that the simple empirical handicap system is more effective than the advanced technique in term of reliability and easiness of use as more racing records are accumulated.

  • A nuclear design of fission moly production targets for a research reactor, HANARO was peformed. It was found that the use of MCNP-4A, ORIGEN-2 code was reliable for the analysis of production characteristics of $^{99}$ Mo in a target fuel at an irradiation holes. A parametric study was done for the optimization of target location, target dimension, target shape and fuel materials. It was shown that a fuel thickness was the most sensitive parameters and electro-deposited target gave the highest 99Mo yield ratio. A pellet target with vibro-compaction powder, however, showed the largest production capacity and better engineering feasibility even with less yield ratio. Ten kinds of optimized target design for both LEU and HEU satisfied all the given design constraints. The most favorable design was the HEU ring-shaped electro-deposited target, considered the safety limit, production yield, chemical process easiness, yield ratio, and amount of radioactive waste.

  • The corporate credit rating represents an assessment of the relative level of risk associated with the timely payments required by the debt obligation. In this study, the corporate credit rating model employs artificial intelligence methods including Neural Network (NN) and Case-Based Reasoning (CBR). At first we suggest three classification models, as partitioned neural networks, all of which convert multi-group classification problems into two group classification ones: Ordinal Pairwise Partitioning (OPP) model, binary classification model and simple classification model. The experimental results show that the partitioned NN outperformed the conventional NN. In addition, we put to use CBR that is widely used recently as a problem-solving and learning tool both in academic and business areas. With an advantage of the easiness in model design compared to a NN model, the CBR model proves itself to have good classification capability through the highest hit ratio in the corporate credit rating.

  • In this paper, the trends of a satellite offline telemetry processing system had been discussed. The satellite offline telemetry processing system is used to analyze an offline telemetry and to check health status of the satellite. Common requirements for the system are high speed processing, processed data visualization, easiness of use, and generality. Regarding to these requirements, how the recent telemetry processing system had been designed and implemented is discussed in detail.

  • MVNO(Mobile Virtual Network Operator) promotes service competition in mobile telecommunication market and provides various service and opportunities for consumers. This study attempts to identify MVNO Service users' motivational and dissatisfying factors in relation to their willingness for continued use of the service 새 activate MVNO service. Use motivation factors are found as customer service, user interface, easiness, economical efficiency, and dissatisfying factors are handset quality, customer service, social influence. Economic efficiency factor had an affirmative influence on the sustained use motivation of the service users. Among dissatisfying factors, users had a negative influence when they recognize that their neighboring people does not use MVNO service. Policy authorities concerned must excavate a new plan to improve distribution structure of handset and reduce wholesaling cost of the MVNO service. It is necessary for MVNO service provider to develop a new business model so that users can recognize MVNO service not as inferior service but as rational and attractive service.

  • This descriptive correlational study was done to identify ICU nurses' intention to use restraints and related factors using Ajzen and Madden(1986)'s Theory of Planned Behavior. Self-reported questionnaires were used to measure intention and related factors. The subjects of this study were 287 ICU nurses in 21 general hospitals with at least 200 beds at Taegu, Pusan and Kyungbuk area in Korea. The results of this study were : 1. There were significant differences in intention according to age and marnital status, attitude according to educastion(with indirect measure), subjective norm according to career in ICU(with both measures), perceived behavioral control according to age and career in ICU(with direct measure), and knowledge according to education and position. 2. There were significant correlations among intention and all factors. Intention was correlated with attitude(r=.2119), subjective norm(r=.1112), and perceived behavioral control(r=.3448) with direct measure. Attitude was correlated with subjective norm(r=.2530), perceived behavioral control(r=.3005), and knowledge(r=.1388) with direct measure. Subjective norm was correlated with perceived behavioral control(r=.1321) with direct measure. Intention was correlated with attitude(r=.1496) and perceived behavioral control(r=.2922) with indirect measure. Attitude was correlated with subjectivenorm(r=.2829) and knowledge(r=-.1390) with indirect measure. Also, subjective norm was correlated with perceived behavioral control(r=.2363) with indirect measure. 3. ICU nurses' intention to use restraints was explained 16.7% by perceived behavioral control, attitude with direct measure, control belief, and age. By this study, it was foundr that ICU nurses reported high level of intention to use restraints. The most important predictor of intention to use restraints was perceived behavioral control toward using restrains, which reflected the easiness and difficulty in the use of restraints.

  • This study aims to look at overall adolescents' and college students' perceptions of library and explore the sources and their related variables as well as find out related issues of perceptions of library and information use of them. The data for this study were collected through survey and analyzed descriptive statistics and correlation analysis using the data. The result shows the population users preferred search engine so much over library as their information search tool even if they trust library information sources more, also, they tend to seek information sources when it has easiness and fastness to get. Correlation analysis such as ${\chi}^2$ and Spearman were implemented and the result of the correlation shows that many factors of this study covered-such as comparison of information sources-have significant differences each other.

  • The quality control of compacted fills has been carried out by evaluating relative densities and coefficients of soil reaction. These measures have several limitations regarding repeatability and reliability of field measurements, and difficulties to use in the fills including large grain size as gravels and boulders. Also, the density is not directly related to the design parameter such as resilient modulus. A preliminary investigation for the usage of the stiffness as a control measure has been carried out. In the laboratory, the stiffness (P-wave velocity) was measured during compaction tests. The stiffness at the optimal moisture content was proposed to use a target control parameter likewise maximum dry density. A field method to match the target stiffness was also proposed by considering easiness of the method and availability of equipment. The most phenomenal feature of the method is that the control parameter (stiffness) is closely related to resilient modulus and can be consistently used from the design stage to the field control during construction.

  • The number of youth smartphone users has been increasing, and they use smartphone applications to satisfy their various types of information needs. Nevertheless, few researchers have addressed youth information behavior on applications. In this study, the author examined the application use behavior of youth in response to their work- and everyday life- information needs. The author collected 114 completed questionnaires from students enrolled in a middle school and a high school. The survey results show that participants' usage and perception of smartphone applications were high, and they were using information, entertainment, and communication applications to meet their information needs. In particular, their preference for application use differed by the type of information needs. Also, participants were considering cost, easiness, privacy policy, review, information quality, providers, interface design, and recommendation to choose applications. This study confirms the role of smartphone applications as an influential information source, and it also provides useful implications for educators and for application developers.
