This study is investigating the perceptions of early childhood teachers on early childhood music activity. The subjects are early childhood teachers(N=217) working at kindergartens and day care centers in Jeonbuk Province. The data were collected from a questionnaire and analyzed with the tests of frequency, Cronbach's $\alpha$, t-test, ANOVA and Duncan. The results are as follow: first, the early childhood teachers are being aware of importance of infant music activity in the order of "aesthetic exploration", "artistic expression", and "art appreciation". Second, according to teachers' working place, the teachers have no differences of perception in early childhood music activities, while, according to children's age in the class which the teachers are taking charge of, they show differences of perception in the activities of "exploring movements " and "respect for artistic expression". Third, according to the early childhood teacher's career, they have difference of perception in "singing" activity only, while according to their education level, they have no differences of perception in all music activities. According to teachers' age, they have differences of perception in the activities of "aesthetic exploration", "exploring sound", and "singing".

In this study, the investigator distributed total 100 questionnaires by childcare center teachers in final analysis. The purposes of the study were to examine teachers' perceptions of early childhood music education provided by childcare centers or kindergartens and also the difficulties they experienced with the instruction of early childhood music education and thus provide basic data to develop an educational program for early childhood teachers and search for a direction in early childhood music education in the field of education. The findings were summarized as follows: Both kindergarten and childcare center teachers showed a high perception level of need for and importance of early childhood music education. The teachers thought that early childhood music education facilitated the development of young children across all areas and promoted their pleasure and expressive abilities. Providing music education, the teachers faced difficulties due to the lack of musical knowledge, basic musical skills, and experiences with and confidence in musical activities. They also felt a need for teacher education.

Concept mapping was used to analyze the knowledge of kindergarten teachers about early childhood music instructional content. Data obtained from the 85 subjects was analyzed by Yun's method(1998) based on Novak & Gowin(1984), Morine-Dershimer(1993), and Markhan, Mintzes & Jones(1994). The majority of the teachers perceived the superordinate concepts of early childhood music instructional content to be listening to music, singing, movement, and playing musical instruments. They perceived early childhood music instructional content to be activity rather then knowledge. Listening to music was high in frequency among superordinate concepts and musical attitudes were high among subordinate concepts. Teachers used 285 words in expressing their cognitive maps. There was no effect on cognitive maps by teaching career or level of education.

최근 유아교육의 흐름은 각 교과와 영역의 융합을 통한 학습자 중심의 통합적인 경험으로 학습의 질을 높일 수 있는 교육활동을 모색하는 데 중점을 두고 있다. 예비유아교사의 음악극 활동은 예술 교과 간의 통합교육으로 예술의 역할과 가치를 이해할 수 있고 나아가 인성과 창의성 계발에 직접적인 영향을 미치기도 하며 다양한 학습에 직접적인 흥미를 유발시키는 동기가 되기도 한다. 또한 유아교육현장에서 음악극을 기획하고 실행, 지도할 수 있는 능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 활동이다. 피아노 앙상블을 활용한 창의적인 음악극 지도 방안의 개발은 교원양성과정의 통합교육활동에 대한 기초연구를 지원하고 음악극 활동이 활성화할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 연구 결과 및 제안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 음악극 활동은 예비유아교사의 협동학습과 창의적인 계획에 의하여 관람 대상에 맞게 체계적이고 단계적으로 실행되도록 한다. 둘째, 음악극의 등장인물의 특징을 이해하고 효율적인 출연진의 역할을 분담하는 것은 예비유아교사 음악극 활동의 접근도를 높이고 활성화의 효과를 가져올 수 있다. 셋째, 음악극 활동 중 음악 만들기는 예비유아교사의 음악적 이해력과 수준에 맞게 창작, 편곡하여 실행할 수 있다. 넷째, 교육과정 중 단기간에 효율적인 방법으로 예비유아교사들이 실행한 통합적인 경험과 평가를 통해서 나온 음악극에 대한 교수방법 및 활동자료, 기록들이 교육현장에서 유아음악극을 지도하는데 참고자료가 되도록 한다.

Objective: This study examined the experiences of pre-service Early Childhood teachers who participated in major-associated autonomous club activities. Methods: Participants were 31 students of the Department of Child Care at A University located in Gyeonggi-do, who participated in a major-associated autonomous music club activity. A content analysis was conducted to examine the meaning of the participation experience of pre-service Early Childhood teachers. Qualitative content analysis was the best method to analyze the meaning of their experience while participating in the activities. Results: The meaning of the experience of music club activities was organized into three categories: "enjoying abundant college life," "growing as a competent childcare teacher," and "being a responsible member of a community." Conclusion/Implications: The results show that pre-service Early Childhood teacher's participation in the activities of major-associated autonomous clubs has a positive impact on desirable changes in college life and adaptation to the department and on the growth of future professional Early Childhood teachers.

본 연구의 목적은 배경음악을 활용한 유아교육 프로그램 개발을 위한 유아교사의 인식을 조사하는 것이다. 연구대상은 부산과 경남 지역 유치원의 유아교사 272명이며 배경음악을 활용한 동화감상에 대한 인식에 관한 설문지를 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 빈도, 백분율을 산출하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 배경음악을 활용한 동화감상을 실시한 경험이 있는 유아교사는 과반 수에 미치지 못하였다. 둘째, 배경음악을 활용한 동화감상의 목적은 풍부한 정서발달에 두고 있었으며, 배경음악에 대한 체계적인 지식과 개념에 대한 이해에 대한 어려움을 위해 다양한 배경음악의 보급을 가장 필요로 하였다. 셋째, 배경음악을 활용한 동화감상 프로그램 개발은 대체로 필요로 하였다. 넷째, 배경음악을 활용한 동화감상 프로그램은 주 1~2회, 10~20분의 대집단형태로서 오전 대집단활동 시간에 실시하는 것이 적절하다고 하였으며 사전활동, 도입방법, 전개 시 질문기법, 마무리방법, 평가방법, 확장 활동방법이 연계되도록 구성되는 것이 필요하다고 하였다.

This study examined musical concepts of early childhood teachers with the 'Sing-a-New-Song' activity and problems teachers face in the application of musical concepts. Participants were 10 kindergarten teachers; data were collected through lesson plans, videos of classes, and interviews with teachers. Results showed that (1) selection of songs focused on words of a song rather than musical concepts; ignoring development of the musical level of the children. (2) Goal-setting ignored musical concepts. (3) Class management confused musical concepts with other concepts. (4) No evaluation of musical concepts was undertaken. Problems included teachers' lack of knowledge of musical development in young children, insufficient understanding and limited application of musical concepts, and low expectations regarding music as a subject of instruction.

This study used path analysis to investigate the effect of home environment and teacher variables on children's musical ability and attitudes. Participants were 235 children, their parents and 13 teachers of kindergartens located in G city in Gyeongbuk Province. Instruments were the Primary Measurement of Music Audiation(Gordon, 1986), the Music Teaching Efficacy Instrument(Riggs & Enochs, 1990), and questionnaires about children's musical attitudes, home environment and music activities. Results showed that teacher variables affected children's musical ability directly and indirectly and children's attitude affected their musical ability directly. Psychological and physical variables of the home environment affected children's musical ability and attitudes positively.

본 논문에서는 어플리케이션을 활용한 교사 양성교육의 효과를 탐색하고자 예비유아교사를 대상으로 실험연구가 수행되었다. 본 연구를 수행하기 위해 어플리케이션을 활용한 교사 양성교육으로 음악창작활동을 구성하였으며, 경기도 A시에 위치한 S대학교 유아교육과 2학년 학생 56명(실험집단 29명, 통제집단 27명)을 대상으로 어플리케이션을 활용한 음악창작활동을 적용한 실험연구를 실시하였다. 사전검사와 사후검사의 차이를 분석한 결과, 실험집단의 음악적 교수효능감에 유의미한 차이가 나타났으며, 이는 어플리케이션을 활용한 교사 양성교육이 교사역할 수행에 대한 신념에 긍정적인 영향을 미침을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구의 결과는 21세기의 시대적 변화를 반영한 교육매체로서 어플리케이션을 재조명하고, 교사 양성교육과정에서 어플리케이션을 교육적으로 활용하기 위한 구체적 방안을 모색하는데 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of listening to music during musical activities on children's development of tone recognition and sense of rhythm. The subjects were total sixty 4-years-olds from two classes of thirty. The children were divided into two groups, experimental and control. Before the experimental procedures, a pre-test was taken to evaluate the level of tone recognition and sense of rhythm of the children. Cordon's 'Audie' was employed and used to measure the difference of tone recognition and sense of rhythm. Then, the activity of listening to music was applied to the experimental group for ten weeks. For the experimental group, the musical activity was selected based on the themes of our tfe which was related to the weekly and yearly teaching plan. One the other hand, no musical activity was provided for the control group. After the experiment, a post-test was carried out using the same methodology of pre-test. Data were analysed by ANCOVA test. Results showed that there was a statistically significant difference in the development of tone recognition and sense of rhythm between the experimental group and the control group.
