Effect of Golf Shoe Design on Kinematic Variables During Driver Swing (골프화의 구조적 특성 및 내부형태에 따른 스윙의 운동학적 변인에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate effect of golf shoe design on kinematic variables during golf swing. Five professional male golfers with shoe size 270mm were recruited for the study. Swing motion was collected using 8 high speed camera motion analysis at a sampling of 180Hz. Kinematic variables were calculated by EVaRT 4.2 software. Driver swing was divided into four events; El(adress), E2(top), E3(impact) and E4(finish). Time, peak velocity, velocity of center of mass, velocity of the foot and ankle angle during Phase 1(El-E2), Phase 2(E2-E3), and Phase 3(E3-E4) were analyzed in order to investigate the relationship between golf shoe design and swing performance. The findings indicated that type C golf shoes would be beneficial for stability and control of movement during address and swing performance. Furthermore, faster speed of golf shoes, center of mass, and both feet were observed with Type C golf shoes. It is expected that golfers with Type C golf Shoes provide greater force as they control the center of mass faster and increase rotational force during impact compared to other golf shoes.

A Study on Typhoon-Disasers in the Korean Peninsula (한반도의 태풍피해에 관한 연구)

  • In order to study the disaster of typhoons which hit the Korean peninsula a period of 22 years from 1959 through 1980 was covered to collect necessary data with respect to attack of typhoons and their damage. Centering around the Korean peninsula, typhoons which attacked between 1959 and 1980 were grouped according to their treking routes and damage for detailed analyses. The results are summarized as follows: 1. The average annual damage of typhoons in the Korean peninsula was found to be 1.27 from June to September. The monthly distributions were found to be 53.6% in August, 28.6% in September and 14.2% in July. 2. About an half (56.4%) of the typhoons which hit the Korean peninsula passed through the western coast and 27.3% through the southern and 14.6% through the eastern. Typhoons of the we8tern coast were divided by their treking routes as 25.5% in CWE type (Jul., Aug., Sep.), 14.6% in WE type (Jul., Aug.), 16.3% in W type (Jul.). 3. The minimum SLP averaged 976.6mb and ordere:l by the treking routes as E$_1$$_1$ and CWE types are higher 20mb than S, E or WE types. 4. The Korean peninsula was damaged by all number of the typhoons in WE or S type, by a third at number of its in E or WE and WI type. 5. The annual probabilities of typhoon-disasters were 0.773 for once or more, 0. 409 for twice or more, and 0.091 for three times or more. Hearvy damage experienced in the Korean peninsula are found to have an annual. 6. Amount of the damage by the treking routes in ordered S>WE>CWE>E>W$_1$, and heavy storms experienced in the Xorean peninsula are found to have accompanied the WE and S types during the months of August and September. 7. The average annual damages were found to be 110 at the death-tall, 45, 000 at the sufferers and 10.5 billion at the property damage. 8. Seventy-sex percent of the all damage in the Korean peninsula distributed on the district from the 36th Parallel south and included Chie Ju island.

  • In this paper, the application of the explicit M.R.A.C. algorithms to the D.C. motor speed control using the microprocessor is studied. The adaptation algorithms are derived from the gradient method and the exponentially weighted least square [E.W.L.S.] method. In order to minimize the computational instability of the E.W.L.S. method, the adaptation algorithm of UDUt factorization method is developed, and because of the characteristics of the D.C. motor (dead-aone phenomenon) , the SM. gra-dient type algorithm is also improved from the gradient type algorithm. Computer simulations and experiments show that these algorithms adapt well to the rapid change of the reference input and the load.

  • In this paper we present the construction details and output characteristics of a diaphragm-type pressure sensor with Cu-Ni(53:47) thin-film strain gauges. In order to improve the sensitivity and the temperature compensation two circumferential gauges are placed near the center of the diaphragm and two radial gauges are located near the edge. For all the gauges the relative change in resistance ΔR/R with pressure is of the order 10$^{-3}$ for the maximum pressure. The output is found to be linear over the entire pressure range(0-30kfg/cm$^2$)and the output sensitivity obtained is 1.6mV/V. The maximum nonlinearity observed in output characteristics is 0.35%FS for 5V excitation and the hysteresis is less than 0.1%FS.

  • The catches of mackerel by monofilament and multifilament net were compared by means of $x^2$ and t-test method. In order to improve the netting twine of drift nets, 6 shoots 5 different mesh and nylon-monofilament netting twines $(B\times2,\;C\;D,\;F,)$ and 2 shoe nylon-multifilament $(A\times2)$ which are using near the Jeju Island in contemporary days were used for the experiment. These gill no were connected in order of A, ,B, C, A, B, E, F and operated fly fishing boat Taeann Ho (7T) near sea of Jeju Ialand from May 1974 to August 1974. The results obtained are as follows: 1. B type nylon-monofilament gill nets were superior to nylon-multifilament gill nets in catch according to the result of $X^2$ test and t-test, and the catch ratio was $M_A:\;M_B=1:1.8$. 2. 75mm mesh size C, D nylon-monofilament gill nets were superior to 85mm mesh size nylonmonofilament gill nets, and their catch ratio were E, F: C, D=1:2.8. 3. The catch ratio C, D and E, F type nets were compared by means of t-teat, however could not recognized their relationship.

A Kinetic Study on Michael-type Reactions of 1-(X-Substituted Phenyl)-2-propyn-1-ones with Amines: Effect of Amine Nature on Reactivity and Mechanism

  • Second-order rate constants have been measured spectrophotometrically for the Michael-type reaction of 1-(Xsubstituted phenyl)-2-propyn-1-ones (2a-f) with amines in $H_2O$ at 25.0 ${\pm}$ 0.1 ${^{\circ}C}$. A linear Brønsted-type plot is obtained with ${\beta}_{nuc}$ = 0.25 ${\pm}$ 0.02, a typical $\beta_{nuc}$ value for reactions which proceed through a stepwise mechanism with attack of amine on the electrophilic center being the rate-determining step. Secondary alicyclic amines are found to be more reactive than isobasic primary amines. The Hammett plot for the reactions of 2a-f with morpholine is not linear, i.e., the substrate with a strong electron-donating group (e.g., 4-MeO) exhibits a negative deviation from the Hammett plot. However, the Yukawa-Tsuno plot for the same reactions exhibits an excellent linear correlation with ρ = 0.62 and r = 0.82. Thus, it has been proposed that the nonlinear Hammett plot is not due to a change in the ra te-determining step but due to ground-state stabilization through resonance interactions.

  • By use of the real recorded data obtained from a power plant, nonlinear low-order state space models are developed for an once-through type power plant boiler. In order to understand the boiler dynamics and to use for the back-up controller design, the unknown model parameters have been estimated using the nonlinear estimation technique, i.e. Extended Kalman Filter method. It is shown that the simulation results coincide with the measurement data within 5% relative error range, which are acceptable from a back-up controller design point of view.

Resource Allocation to Support QoE of Handovers in Overlaid Macro-Femto Networks

  • This paper proposes a novel resource allocation scheme which enables to guarantee the quality of experience (QoE) for handovers from femtocell to macrocell and vice versa, and between femtocells in the overlaid macro-femto networks. The proposed scheme guarantees QoE to a certain extent during handover by utilizing a fixed amount of radio resource reserved in advance for the dedicated use to support QoE. We take both the type of the handover and the temporal sensitiveness characteristics of user services into consideration in order to support QoE. Performance of our scheme is analyzed by simulation with respect to the outage probability and total throughput.

  • This Paper makes an attempt to suggest a process of automatically generating application software based on the Entity-Relationship model 1. The designer develops an E-R model of an real-world system. 2. The designer inputs the entity and relationship types, and attributes shown in the E-R model, and also the basic operations of the application system to the software generator. 3. The application generator produces database schema and link information between application programs, and then automatically generates a stereo-type application system. In order for the automated application generator to build the application system in a systematic way, four basic program generation rules have been suggested. A set of computer programs have been developed in order to show the applicability of the automated software generation process suggested in this paper. By following each rule with the generator, the designer can build an application in an efficient manner compared with traditional (manual programming) approaches. It has been demonstrated from the case study that the idea of applying an automated generator in systems development based upon the E-R model is feasible.

  • This paper studies a periodic review inventory model with an e-MarketPlace transaction in reconfigurable manufacturing system(RMS). A decision maker can expand/reduce production capacity/quantities and/or replenish/dispose inventories from/to e-MarketPlace urgently to satisfy the stochastic demands. If inventories are replenished or disposed through e-MarketPlace, this leadtime is shorter than the production leadtime, but unit purchasing or selling cost is more expensive than that of expanding capacity or reducing production quantities respectively. Henceforth, trade-off on these alternatives is considered. In addition to this, in order to consider the economy of scale, our model includes the fixed cost for purchasing from e-MarketPlace and capacity expansion. We use dynamic programming and K convexity methods to characterize the nature of the optimal policy. Finally, We present the optimal inventory control policy which is composed by the combinations of a base stock and (s,S) type policy.
