한-아세안 습지 지식공유 플랫폼 개발 및 제언 (Development of Korea-ASEAN Wetland Knowledge Sharing Platform and Future Suggestions)

  • 본 연구는 "한-아세안 습지 지식공유 플랫폼" 개발을 위해 글로벌 지식공유 플랫폼들을 분석하고, 이해당사자들의 의견을 수렴 하였다. 글로벌 지식공유 플랫폼 분석결과 플랫폼을 지속가능하게 유지하고 활발하게 사업을 수행하기 위해서는 1) 재정지원과 2) 지식 결과물이 중요한 것으로 나타났다. 이해당사자들의 의견 분석 결과 3가지 주요사업(① 한-아세안 지역의 습지 인벤토리 비교분석, ② 습지 연구동향 지식격차 분석, ③ 습지 관련 정보공유 웹인프라 구축)이 제안되었다. 문헌분석과 이해당사자들의 의견을 종합적으로 고려한 결과 "한-아세안 습지 지식공유 플랫폼"은 국제협약(람사르협약, 생물다양성협약)의 목표와 정합성을 갖도록 정의하였고, 생물다양성과학기구를 기반모델로 선정하였다. 본 연구의 플랫폼은 생물다양성과학기구와 동일하게 지식관리, 지식평가, 역량강화, 정책지원, 의사소통과 참여를 핵심목표로 선정하였다. 지식공유 플랫폼은 한-아세안 지역 내에 같은 유형의 습지생태계 관련 지식을 공유하고, 과학기반 정책 수립에 필요한 정보를 제공 할 수 있을 것이다.

유치원교사의 자율성에 대한 인식과 실천현황 (An Analysis of Kindergarten Teacher's Perception and Current Implementation toward Autonomy)

  • 본 연구는 2019 개정 누리과정에서 유치원교사에게 강조된 자율성에 대한 인식과 실천현황에 대해 살펴봄으로써, 교사 자율성의 중요성을 강조하고 인식과 실천의 양상을 파악하여 교사 자율성이 반영되는 교육과정 운영에의 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다. 이를 위해 121명의 공·사립 유치원교사를 대상으로 조사를 실시하고 빈도분석과 경력에 따른 차이검증을 실시하였다. 연구결과를 살펴보면 첫째, 유치원교사의 '자율성 인식'에서는 '자율성의 개념에 대해 관심이 많고, 실천하고자 시도해보았다', 자율성을 기대하는 분야로는 '교육계획 수립 및 운영의 자율성'이 가장 높았다. 고경력 교사들은 자율성이 대체로 잘 부여된다고 인식하는 반면, 저경력 교사들은 부여되지 않거나 보통이라고 인식하였다. 교사 자율성이 현장에서 부여되지 못한 이유로는 '기관에서의 자율적 의사결정 제한'이 가장 많았다. 둘째, 유치원교사의 '자율성 실천현황'은 기관운영 자율성 중 '교육계획 및 수립', 운영에서는 '일과 운영'에서 가장 높게 나타났다. 부모 및 지역사회의 교류에서는 '홈페이지 운영'이, 교사 전문성 개발에서는 '교사연수 참여', 교육활동 자율성에서는 '유아와의 상호작용'이 가장 높게 나타났다. 유아관찰 및 평가에서는 '활동 결과, 작품 등의 평가 유형, 방법 계획'과 '평가 결과에 기초한 상담 및 유아지도'에서 자율성 확보가 가장 높았다. 향후 연구에서는 자율성 실천의 맥락을 이해하기 위해 장기적 사례 연구 등이 수반되어야할 것이다.

MAGIC: GALILEO and SBAS Services in a Nutshell

  • GNSS Services and Applications are today in permanent evolution in all the market sectors. This evolution comprises: ${\bullet}$ New constellations and systems, being GALILEO probably the most relevant example, but not the only one, as other regions of the world also dwell into developing their own elements (e.g. the Chinese Beidou system). ${\bullet}$ Modernisation of existing systems, as is the case of GPS and GLONASS ${\bullet}$ New Augmentation services, WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, GRAS, GAGAN, and many initiatives from other regions of the world ${\bullet}$ Safety of Life services based on the provision of integrity and reliability of the navigation solutions through SBAS and GBAS systems, for aeronautical or maritime applications ${\bullet}$ New Professional applications, based on the unprecedented accuracies and integrity of the positioning and timing solutions of the new navigation systems with examples in science (geodesy, geophysics), Civil engineering (surveying, construction works), Transportation (fleet management, road tolling) and many others. ${\bullet}$ New Mass-market applications based on cheap and simple GNSS receivers providing accurate (meterlevel) solutions for daily personal navigation and information needs. Being on top of this evolving market requires an active participation on the key elements that drive the GNSS development. Early access to the new GNSS signals and services and appropriate testing facilities are critical to be able to reach a good market position in time before the next evolution, and this is usually accessible only to the large system developers as the US, Europe or Japan. Jumping into this league of GNSS developers requires a large investment and a significant development of technology, which may not be at range for all regions of the world. Bearing in mind this situation, MAGIC appears as a concept initiated by a small region within Europe with the purpose of fostering and supporting the development of advanced applications for the new services that can be enabled by the advent of SBAS systems and GALILEO. MAGIC is a low cost platform based on the application of technology developed within the EGNOS project (the SBAS system in Europe), which encompasses the capacity of providing real time EGNOS and, in the near future, GALILEO-like integrity services. MAGIC is designed to be a testing platform for safety of life and liability critical applications, as well as a provider of operational services for the transport or professional sectors in its region of application. This paper will present in detail the MAGIC concept, the status of development of the system within the Madrid region in Spain, the results of the first on-field demonstrations and the immediate plans for deployment and expansion into a complete SBAS+GALILEO regional augmentation system.

과학영재학교 과학교사들의 영재교육에 대한 신념과 교수활동 유형 (Beliefs About Gifted Education and Classroom Practices of the Science Teachers at Science Academy in Korea)

  • 일반교육에서와 마찬가지로 영재교육이 성공적으로 이루어지기 위하여서는 영재학생들을 담당하고 있는 교사의 역할이 무엇보다도 중요하다. 현재 각급 학교에서 영재교육을 담당하고 있는 대부분의 교사들은 단 기간의 영재교육연수를 받은 후 영재학생들을 가르치고 있다. 이런 단기간의 영재교육연수만으로도 그동안 일반 학생들을 담당하고 있던 교사가 영재교육에 대한 나름대로의 철학을 정립하고 영재학생들을 효과적으로 가르칠 수 있을지는 의문이다. 최근 교사의 신념이 교수활동에 중요한 역할을 한다는 것을 시사하는 연구 결과가 많이 발표되고 있다. 이 논문은 현재 과학영재학교에서 과학과목을 가르치고 있는 교사들을 대상으로 사례연구를 수행하여, 영재교육에 대한 교사의 개인적 신념과 교수활동과의 관계를 파악하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이 연구에서 구체적 으로 다루고자 하는 문제는 다음과 같아. 첫째, 연구에 참여한 교사들의 영재교육에 대한 신념은 무엇인가? 둘째, 이들의 신념은 교수활동에 어떤 방식으로 반영 되고 있는가? 본 연구에 참여한 교사들은 과학영재학교 물리교사 2명, 생물교사2명, 기구과학교사1명으로 총 5명이다. 자료는 참여교사 당 4차시의 수업 관찰 및 녹화, 심층면담을 통해서 수집하였고, 모든수업과 면담자료를 전사 후에 분석하였다. 이외에 추가적인 자료는 이메일을 통해서 수집하였다. 참여교사들의 사례 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 참여 교사들의 영재교육에 대한 신념은 독립적으로 존재하는 것이 아니라 교수학습관과 교과목에 대한 신념이 서로 맞물려 하나의 신념체계를 형성하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 참여교사들의 신념체계는 '학생 중심', '교사 중심', '갈등 혼돈', 이 세 가지 형태로 나눌 수 있었다. '학생 중심' 신념체계를 가진 교사들은 수업진행 시 학생들의 질문이나 의견이 중요한 역할을 하게 하며, 학생들이 교사의 지적권위에 의지하지 않고 학생들 스스로 문제를 해결하도록 함으로써, 학생들이 수업에 주체가 되어 적극적으로 수업에 동참하게 하는 교실 참여구조를 보이고 있었다. '교사 중심' 신념체계를 가진 교사들은 주어진 시간 내에 많은 지식을 가르치는데 치중하고, 수업진행에서 학생보다 교사가 절대적인 역할을 수항하여 학생들이 주체적으로 수업을 이끌어나가기 보다는 교사의 지적권위에 학생들이 의존하는 수동적인 교실 참여구조를 보이고 있었다. '갈등 혼돈' 신념체계를 가진 교사는 자신만의 확고한 신념체계가 아직 형성되어 있지 않으며, 교수활동에서 전통주의 교수학습관이 많이 반영되고 있었다. 이 연구의 결과는 교사의 신념이 교수활동에 중요한 영향을 미친다는 사실을 다시 확인시켜준다. 특히, 영재학생 담당교사의 경우는 영재교육에 관한 신념뿐 아니라 교수학습관과 교과목에 대한 개인적 신념이 교수활동에 크게 영향을 미친다는 것을 보여준다. 이에 더하여 연구자는 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 영재교사교육에 대한 몇 가지 개선점을 제안하였다.

온라인 프라이버시 침해 우려에 관한 컨조인트 분석 : 한국에서의 사례 (A Conjoint Analysis of Online Information Privacy Concerns: A case in Korea)

  • The rapid growth of the Internet has increased the amount of transmission of personally identifiable information. At the same time, with new Internet related technologies, organizations are trying to collect and access more personal information than before, which in turn makes individuals concern more about their information privacy. For their successful businesses, organizations have tried to alleviate these concerns in two ways: (1) by offering privacy policies that promise certain level of privacy protection; (2) by offering benefits such as financial gains or convenience. In this paper, we interpret these actions in the context of the information processing theory of motivation. This paper follows Hann et al.(2007)'s methods to analyze Internet users privacy concerns in Korea and tries to compare the findings. Our research objectives are as follows: First, we analyze privacy concern mitigation strategies in the framework of the expectancy theory of motivation. Subsequently, we show how the expectancy theory based framework is linked o the conjoint analysis. We empirically validate the predictions that the means to mitigate privacy concerns are associated with positive valences resulting in an increase in motivational score. In order to accommodate real-life contexts, we investigate these means in trade-off situation, where an organization may only be able to offer partially complete privacy protection and/or promotions and/or convenience, While privacy protection (secondary use, improper access) are associated with positive valences, we also find that financial gains can significantly increase the individuals' motivational score of a website in Korea. One important implication of this empirical analysis is that organizations may possess means to actively manage the privacy concerns of Internet users. Our findings show that privacy policies are valued by users in Korea just as in the US or Singapore. Hence, organizations can capitalize on this, by stating their privacy policy more prominently. Also organizations would better think of strategies or means that may increase online users' willingness to provide personal information. Since financial incentives also significantly increase the individuals' motivational score of website participation, we can quantify the value of website privacy protection in terms of monetary gains. We find that Korean Internet users value the total privacy protection (protection against errors, improper access, and secondary use of personal information) as worthy as KW 25,550, which is about US 28. Having done this conjoint analysis, we next adopt cluster analysis methodology. We identify two distinct segments of Korea's internet users-privacy guardians and information sellers, and convenience seekers. The immediate implication of our study is that firms with online presence must differentiate their services to serve these distinct segments to best meet the needs of segments with differing trade-offs between money and privacy concerns. Information sellers are distinguished from privacy guardians by prior experience of information provision, To the extent that businesses cannot observe an individual's prior experience, they must use indirect methods to induce segmentation by self-selection as suggested in classic economics literature of price discrimination, Businesses could use monetary rewards to attract information sellers to provide personal information. One step forward from the societal trends that emphasize the need of legal protection of information privacy, our study wants to encourage organizations and related authorities to have the viewpoints to consider both importance of privacy protection and the necessity of information trade for the growth of e-commerce.

사회인지론과 건강신념모델을 적용한 저소득층 아동 대상 영양교육 프로그램 개발 (The Development of a Nutrition Education Program for Low-income Family Children by applying the Social Cognitive Theory and Health Belief Model)

  • Objectives: Based on individual and environmental characteristics of low-income children, we developed a nutrition education program for school-aged children from low-income families according to effective use in social welfare centers. Methods: We conducted in-depth group interviews to assess program needs in 28 participants, 10 low-income school-aged children and 9 of their care givers, 9 social workers and 9 care-givers. Theoretical backgrounds of our program were heath belief model and social cognitive theory considering motivation, action and environment characteristics. Results: Based on the findings of this qualitative study, we developed major program themes and contents. Five selected key themes were 'balanced diet', 'processed food', 'food hygiene and safety', 'Korean healthy traditional diet', and 'family cooking' to induce changes in dietary behaviors. Main findings of in-depth group interviews included 'child's active participation', 'simple and easy to understand messages', and 'environmental constraints' such as a lack of child care at home, limited budget of social welfare centers, and less qualified educators for nutrition and health. Each lesson was constructed as a 1-hour program particularly emphasizing activity-based programs, including cooking and teamwork exercises. Program contents in each session consisted of activities that could induce outcome and value expectations, self-efficacy, perceived benefits, and barriers and cues to actions regarding diet behavior. Conclusions: We developed a nutrition education programthat is rarely available for low-income children in Korea, considering theoretical bases. Further studies are needed to validate our program.

수업설계와 예비교사의 학습: 수학교수관행을 분석틀로 사용한 예비교사의 수업지도안 검토 활동이 어떤 도움이 되는지에 관한 고찰 (Lesson Planning: How Do Pre-service Teachers Benefit from Examining Lesson Plans with Mathematics Teaching Practices as an Analytical Lens?)

  • 본고는 미국수학교사협의회(NCTM)의 대표적 최신 출판물인 원리에서 실천으로(Principles to Actions)에 제시된 8개 항목의 수학교수관행(Mathematics Teaching Practices: MTPs)을 분석의 틀로 이용하여, 초중등 예비교사들이 수업지도안 수정활동에 참여한 과정을 보고하고 있다. 이 과제는 주어진 수업지도안을 분석하고 수정하는 활동을 포함한 4단계의 과정으로 구성되었다. 57명의 예비교사들이 한 학기 간에 걸쳐 이 과제에 참여하였으며, 각 단계에서 수집된 자료는 귀납적 내용분석을 하였다. 예비교사들의 수업지도안 작성에 대한 초기개념은 수업관행(가령 MTPs)을 미약하게 반영하고 있었으며, 지도안 구성요소들의 기능보다는 형식을 더 강조하는 경향을 보였다. 그러나 MTPs를 수업지도안 분석의 틀로 이용하는 기회가 주어졌을 때, 예비교사들이 MTPs 에 대한 다양한 해석을 보여주었고, MTPs를 수업지도안에 포함시키려는 노력을 하였으며, MTPs 간의 상호연계성에 더 주목하는 경향을 보였다. 본고는 이 수업지도안 수정과정에서 예비교사들이 겪은 도전 및 갈등도 제시하고 있다. 이런 점에서 본 연구 결과는 교사교육 프로그램에서 MTPs의 효과적 사용 가능성 여부를 조사하는 연구에 시사점을 제시하고 있다.

Knowledge, Barriers and Attitudes Towards Breast Cancer Mammography Screening in Jordan

  • Background: Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in Jordan. Current efforts are focused on annual campaigns aimed at increasing awareness about breast cancer and encouraging women to conduct mammogram screening. In the absence of regular systematic screening for breast cancer in Jordan, there is a need to evaluate current mammography screening uptake and its predictors, assess women's knowledge and attitudes towards breast cancer and screening mammograms and to identify barriers to this preventive service. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in six governorates in Jordan through face-to-face interviews on a random sample of women aged 40 to 69 years. Results: A total of 507 participants with mean age of $46.8{\pm}7.8$ years were interviewed. There was low participation rate in early detection of breast cancer practices. Breast self-examination, doctor examination and periodic mammography screening were reported by 34.9%, 16.8% and 8.6% of study participants, respectively. Additionally 3.8% underwent breast cancer screening at least once but not periodically, while 87.6% had never undergone mammography screening. Reported reasons for conducting the screening were: perceived benefit (50%); family history of breast cancer (23.1%); perceived severity (21.2%); and advice from friend or family member (5.8%). City residents have shown higher probability of undergoing mammogram than those who live in towns or villages. Results revealed negative perceptions and limited knowledge of study participants on breast cancer and breast cancer screening. The most commonly reported barriers for women who never underwent screening were: fear of results (63.8%); no support from surrounding environment (59.7); cost of the test (53.4%); and religious belief, i.e. Qadaa Wa Qadar (51.1%). Conclusions: In the absence of regular systematic screening for breast cancer in Jordan, the uptake of this preventive service is very low. It is essential for the country of Jordan to work on applying regular systematic mammography screening for breast cancer. Additionally, there is a need for improvement in the current health promotion programmes targeting breast cancer screening. Other areas that could be targeted in future initiatives in this field include access to screening in rural areas and removal of current barriers.

수업에 대한 교수의 자기평가와 학생평가의 비교를 통한 공과대학 수업개선 방안 연구 (A Study on Suggesting Directions for Course Improvement at College of Engineering Based on Comparison of Instructors' Self Evaluation and Students' Evaluation of Courses)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore directions for improvement of teaching at college of engineering based on analysis of differences from course evaluation of students and instructors. Data was collected from 86 instructors' ratings on courses and their 3004 students' ratings on courses at college of engineering in a two-year, a three-year college and a University from 2010 to 2013. The results of the survey indicate significant differences in the statistics from the several questions between the instructors and the students as well as between the course in a two-year, a three-year college and in a University. First, instructors' self evaluation of the course is higher than students' satisfaction ratings of the course on the average. Instructors' self evaluation are high on the questions 'The subject was proper for the course', 'The course provided the latest theory and trend of the field', and 'Fairness and objectivity about the exams and the assignments'. Also, the difference between Instructors and students on the questions is significant in the statistics. The professor must make sure that students know well how to organize the course content and the method for feedback to test result and homework. Second, instructors have higher satisfaction ratings on the six questions and students have higher satisfaction ratings on the one question('Make students participate in the class effectively') at a two-year and a three-year college. However, students have higher satisfaction ratings on the three questions('Make students participate in the class effectively', 'Concern about students' learning process', and 'Use of E-learning and media equipments') and instructors have higher satisfaction ratings on the one question. It means instructors at a University feel pressure on a teaching and they are unsatisfied with their teaching skills. Third, the result of comparing six parts of the questions shows that students' satisfaction ratings are higher on 'Students participation' and 'Application of media equipments' parts whereas instructors' self evaluation are higher on 'Exams and assignments' part. Fourth, the question 'Make students participate in the class effectively' is significant in statistic based on comparison of instructors and students, and comparison of in a college and a University. Students' satisfaction ratings are higher than instructors' self evaluation.

전략환경평가를 통한 환경영향평가제도 개선에 대한 인식도 조사 연구 (A Study of Perception on Improvement of Environmental Impact Assessment using Strategic Environmental Assessment)

  • Environmental Impact Assessment(EIA) in Korea has been used to improve environmental conservation and decision-making. Since environmental impact statement(EIS) was introduced in 1981 with the promulgation of the Environmental Preservation Act in 1977, which replaced the Pollution Control Act legislated in 1963. With a rapid growth of environmental perception as well as the diversification of development activities, however, it has recently bring about a strong demand for a new assessment process related to the strategic level of policies, plan, programs. Method of this study includes analyses of the situation of local EIA and its problematic issues through survey and analysis of information and data, analysis of the level of environmental awareness of professionals and case studies including analysis of foreign strategic environmental assessment. Accordingly, I have elicited a concept of SEA. In addition, I have studied on costs of environmental assessment, and efficiency of internalization of HIA. The survey was carried between September and November 2003, and 177 professionals were asks to complete a questionnaire. As a result of questionnaire survey of environmental pundits, it revealed that 83.8% of participants were in favor of introduction of strategic assessment. This result demonstrated more or less higher approval rate than those of awareness survey done by the Ministry of Environment, i.e. 86.0% ayes, and 14.0% nays. 22.8% of participants agreed to the opinion; "For introduction of this system, earlier is better," 50% reported having an opinion such as, "Will introduce this system in an earliest possible time after correcting problems," 26.3% reported having an opinion such as, "Let's decide the time for introduction of this system after correcting problems first,' and 0.9% reported having an opinion, "it's too early to introduce this system." Specifically, the ratio of ayes on introduction of the system marked 72.8%, and it revealed that a majority of respondents have an opinion such as, "Will introduce this system in an earliest possible time after correcting problems." As means of solutions for the problem regarding the limits of applications that existed in SEA System, factors, such as collecting a wide variety of opinions, securing experts, and faithful implementation, etc. were reported important, and in addition to these factors, respondents revealed having opinions such as, consistent research and development, reflection of public interest, establishment of professional organization, enforcement of after-management service, expanding investments in large, systemizing reference materials, and encouraging public participation, etc. To improve problems involving with present EIA system, it has been identified through this study that SEA is efficient and useful. In order to have SEA introduced successfully, it has been cleared that internalization of effectiveness of environmental cost together with HIA must be accomplished.
