In existing internet, e-mail protocols including POP3 and IMAP4, provide e-mail services fir exchanging messages with texts, hypertext and images as well. For the e-mail services in wireless mobile network, mobile e-mail service providers have to install a mobile exclusive e-mail server or have to convert e-mail to mobile exclusive e-mail with wireless application format in case of POP3 protocol. In the e-mail service of IMAP4 case known as web-mail, it is difficult to view e-mail directly from server without IMAP4 mobile client because e-mail is stored in mail server side with remote file server. In either case, it also has the problems of viewing the e-mail of hypertext and image information at mobile. This paper provides e-mail extraction engine with image and hypertext conversion facilities that can be applied in wireless mobile internet and it is optimized in mobile communication environments such as a small display, small size of memory with web-mail protocol based on IMAP4 as well as POP3 mail protocol.

There are POP3(Post Office Progocol 3) and IMAP4(Internet Message Access Protocol 4) for E-Mail service of wire Internet For mobile e-mail service that use wireless Internet, must use exclusive use mobile e-mail server in the case of POP3 e-mail or flow e-mail conversion and because e-mail is kept in sever side with remote file server in case of IMAP4 mail that is used by Web-Mail, utilization of mobile e-mail service is difficult by mobile client who there is no IMAP4 rules. This thesis embodying e-mail extraction engine for mobile that do to design markup language converter of XML base, and use Web-Mail of recently been generalizing IMAP4 base in mobile, presented mobile e-mail service method to do so that can use Web-Mail that is based on IMAP4 as well as POP3 mail service in mobile environment.

유선 인터넷 망의 Mail 서비스에는 POP3(Post Office Protocol 3)규약과 IMAP4 (Internet Message Access Protocol 4)규약을 기반으로 하는 Mail 등이 있다. 무선 인터넷을 이용한 모바일 메일 서비스를 위해서는, POP3 Mail의 경우 전용 모바일 메일 서버를 이용하거나 메일 변환을 거쳐야 하고. Web Mail로 이용되는 IMAP4 메일의 경우에는 원격 파일 서버와 같이 서버 측에 메일이 보관되므로 IMAP4 규약이 없는 모바일 클라이언트로는 모바일 메일 서비스의 이용이 곤란하다. 본 논문에서는 XML 기반의 마크업 언어 변환기를 설계하고. 최근 보편화되고 있는 IMAP4 기반의 Web Mail을 모바일에서 이용할 수 있도록 하는 모바일용 메일 추출 엔진을 구현함으로써, POP3 메일 서비스뿐만 아니라 IMAP4를 기반으로 하는 Web Mail을 모바일 환경에서 이용할 수 있도록 하는 모바일 메일 서비스 방법을 제시하였다.

This study deals with the relationship between the red tide occurrence and the meteorological and marine factors, the prediction of areas where the red tide is likely to occur based on the information, and the satellite monitoring for the red tide in mid-South Sea of Korea. From 1990 to 2001, the red tide was observed every year and the number of occurrences increased as well. The red tide mostly occurred in July, August, and September. The most important meteorological factor governing the mechanisms of the increase in the number of red tide occurrences is found to be a heavy precipitation. It was found that the favorable marine environmental conditions for the red tide formation are some of marine factors such as the warm water temperature, the low salinity, the high suspended solid, the low phosphorus, and the low nitrogen. The necessary conditions for the red tide occurrence are found to be the heavy precipitation (23.4-54.5 mm) for 2∼4 days, the warm temperature $(24.6∼25.9^{\circ}C)$, proper sunshine (2∼10.3 h), and light winds (2∼4.6 m/s & SW) for the day in red tide occurrence. It was possible to monitor the spatial distributions and concentration of the red tide using the satellite images. It was found that the likely areas for red tide occurrence in August 2000 were Yosu - Dolsan coast, Gamak bay, Namhae coast, Marado coast, Goheung coast, and Deukryang bay.

This paper investigated the perceived criticalities and patterns of Korean Professional Engineer's competency regarding the working activities of automative product development, manufacturing, etc by using questionnaires responded to the survey which were applied to the automotive professors, experts and professional engineers (vocational parties) by e/mail, etc. This research investigated the following questions: First, what are the characteristic patterns, relevancy and perceived criticalities of Korean Professional Engineer's competencies? Second, What are the ranked priority of the Korean Professional Engineers' competencies? Are there any differency for each item, sub group of job, intelectual criterior of the competencies between relevancy and perceived criticalities according to the types of vocational parties, etc.? Accoring to the results; first, Professor group showed highest points among 3 groups per each item of the competencies by vocational parties Second, Chassis design group ranked top position among the 8 sub groups by vocational parties and, third, Problem Solving Knowledge ranked highest points than any others. Korean Professional Engineers are found to be positioned as key members, leaders and managers on surveying market, product planning, designing product & components, developing component parts, establishing shop with production equipment, managing quality control & material handling, organizing relevant meetings, developing human resources by training and learning, to back up finance with law matters, cooperating with concerned parties to achieve organizational goals, and to coordinate projects. etc, identifying ethical issues and business skills in order to survive and win to be competitive in various kinds of the automotive industry battle fields.
