A Study on the Impact of the Attitude of e-learning on the Effectiveness of e-learning (e-learning에 대한 태도가 e-learning 유효성에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this paper is to study of the attitude of e-learning on the effectiveness of e-learning and the antecedents of e-learning. For this study, samples were collected in the school where e-learning was students of cyber lecture. Structural equation model was used to analyze the data. The result of this empirical study is summarized as followings. First, The attitude of e-learning has a positive effect on the e-learning effectiveness. Second, ease of use of learning management system, learning motivation, information quality of learning contents has positive effect on the attitude of e-learning, but usefulness of learning management system has no effect on the attitude of e-learning. Therefore, the former consists of learning management system, learning contents and information quality that are provided by e-learning and the latter means learning motivation.

  • The purpose of this study is to present the base for activation policy for cost estimation guidelines of e-Learning content development. To achieve this purpose, this study investigates the effectiveness of cost estimation guidelines of e-Learning content development through a survey about executives and employees in the e-Learning industry and analyses them statistically. According to an analysis, companies(which abandoned order because the amount of money (cost) of e-Learning contents ordering is low and suffered a loss after acquiring e-Learning contents project order) have a relatively negative awareness about the effectiveness of cost estimation guidelines of e-Learning contents. On the other hand, contents focused companies have a relatively positive awareness about the effectiveness of cost estimation guidelines of e-Learning contents. In conclusion, this study suggests that government should recommend and enact announce the use of cost estimation criteria(guidelines) of e-Learning content development and provide the institutional tools soon as possible.

  • Recently, a number of research efforts have been taken to enhance interoperability and reusability of e-learning contents by developing ADL SCORM 2004 compliant contents. For useful and effective learning contents, content devlopers have to build the strategy of content sequencing in the phase of instructional design. However, many developers have difficulties in understanding the complicated specification of SCORM 2004 S&N(Sequencing&Navigation) and implementing SCORM sequencing. In this paper, we develop SCORM 2004 based best-practice sample contents utilizing SCORM sequencing and thus present a reference guide to the design and implementation of SCORM 2004 contents. It is expected that our sample contents illustrate an effective and useful application of SCORM 2004 as a de-facto e-learning standard, domestically and also internationally.

  • The e-Learning contents producing industry has been situated at the difficult status because of excessive competition and small-scale business company in unprofitable contents development market. One of the most important issues is low cost for e-Learning contents development. This paper is focus on analysis of e-Learning contents development cost and suggest the rational alternatives for policy making. In order to make successful study, this paper tell about various contents development cost, comparison analysis among them, and e-Learning contents development cost model. As a result of the study, this paper suggest the rational alternatives of of policy making for e-Learning contents development cost.

  • Whether the engineering department of universities employs ideal usage of e-learning or not needs to be investigated as many engineering departments diversify the use of the e-learning elements for educational purpose. Applying the teaching and learning methods and characteristics would lead to better strategies which are applied to development of contents and deployment of the e-learning courses. This study examines the characteristics and approaches of the usage of e-learning elements used by some instructors who use multimedia contents in offline teaching and learning environment. The results of this study shows that the e-learning elements assist the face-to-face course and the interactions are manifested in the classroom rather than in online setting. Lecture, hands-on-practice, simulation, and PBL(Problem-based learning) are turned out to be the major teaching and learning methods. This study signifies the need for use of various teaching and learning methods by the instructors and provision of PBL environment.

  • e-learning has been recently introduced in all educational domains and it has expanded rapidly in educational field. Blended learning, which has emerged with e-learning nowadays, is an exact example of a new paradigm. It has not only educational effects of traditional classroom learning, but it also has effects of e-learning which provides learner-centered classroom environment and removes barriers of time and space. This study looked into several e-learning contents evaluation criteria that were already studied, And arranged with the evaluation question item that can evaluate learning effectiveness of e-learning contents in elementary school through a questionnaire executed in elementary school teachers. And it used this evaluation question item and the study accomplishment results of an education ruler, and applied to learning effectiveness evaluation of e-learning contents. This paper will give future directions and assessment criteria of e-learning. Moreover, this thesis will provide theoretical and practical materials for developing e-learning contents to improve quality of blended learning.

  • The e-Learning program is a multimedia data program consisting of texts, images, animation, audio and video. The development of an e-Learning program requires time and is a complex process, requiring cooperation and open-communication between all parties involved, particularly in the event of a problem. This study will analyze the e-Learning contents development process from the Social Negotiation Perspective. An appropriate process for the development of the program and effective decision-making guidelines for those parties involved will be recommended. Participants' viewpoints regarding program development and guidelines were studied qualitatively, while the evaluation of developed content employed both qualitative and quantitative research. The study found the following results. First, the development of an e-Learning program requires a clear goal and purpose. Second, the target group must be clearly identified. Third, all parties involved must share in the development process and its outcomes. Fourth, the party requesting the program must allocate the appropriate time and budget for the development group. Finally, the project requires a strong, capable leadership for effective decision-making.

Study on Activate Methods for Digital Contents Service to Support Academic Courses in e-Learning (e-Learning 강의 지원을 위한 디지털콘텐츠 서비스 활성화 방안연구 - I 대학 교수.학생.도서관서비스를 중심으로 -)

  • The present thesis aims to analyze in consideration of recent changes in teaching environment in the universities the commercial digital contents and e-learning courses provided by the libraries, and to propose the ways to encourage university library service needed under the current situation. A survey of professors and students upon the quality of commercial digital contents service provided by the libraries in I University was made to measure its influence upon e-learning courses. The quality of commercial digital contents service provided by libraries was measured through Digital Library Service Quality Index (which will be referred as DL-SQL Model from here), which is used as a model to examine the Digital Library Service, with partial adjustments of 4 levels (information system service, digital books service, customer service quality, and customer community service) and 7 components (search possibility, an exclusive organization and interface, accessibility, digital books, customer support service, personalized service, and customer community). Among the library services in regard to digital contents, "customer service" and "customer community service" were analyzed to have stronger influence upon e-learning teaching and studying than quality-based service for "information system" and "digital books". Consequently, it is concluded that customized information service provided by the library for the professors who teach e-learning courses and their students is more influential to supporting e-learning courses than quantity pushing service through purchasing commercial digital contents, upon which the direction of digital contents policy to provide library services for e-learning courses should be based.

  • e-Learning은 시 공간의 제약 없이 교수자와 학습자간의 교육이 이루어진다는 장점이 있는 반면, 다양한 학습자의 요구를 만족시킬 만큼 충분한 학습 콘텐츠의 제작이 어렵다는 단점이 있다. 이러한 단점을 해결하기 위해 ADL(Advanced Distributed Learning)의 SCORM(Sharable Content Object Reference Modeling)의 표준에 따라 e-Learning의 학습 콘텐츠를 학습객체(Learning Object)로 제작하고, 이를 SCORM의 표준을 지원하는 LCMS(Learning Content Management System)를 이용하여 관리하려는 연구가 진행되고 있다. LCMS를 이용할 경우 학습 콘텐츠의 제사용성을 높이므로 학습 콘텐츠의 제작 및 관리가 무척 용이해진다는 장점이 있는 반면 탈맥락화된 학습 콘텐츠를 제작하기는 매우 어렵다는 단점을 가진다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 버전관리 기법을 이용한 탈맥락화된 학습 콘텐츠에 대한 제작이 용이한 시스템을 연구했다.
