User-centered Design of m-Learning System: Moodle On The Go

  • In order to truly integrate e-Learning system into regular curriculum at a university, mobile access to Learning Management Systems has to be enabled. Mobile devices have the potential to be integrated into the classroom, because they contain unique characteristics such as portability, social interactivity, context sensitivity, connectivity and individuality. Adoption of Learning Management Systems by students is still on the low rate, mostly because of poor usability of existing e-Learning systems. Our initial research has confirmed this hypothesis. Usability issue is rising to the higher level on the mobile platform, because of the mobile devices' limited screen size, input interfaces and bandwidth, and also because of the context of use. Our second hypothesis was that it is wrong to consider a mobile device as a surrogate for desktop or laptop personal computer (PC). By just adopting the existing Learning Management System on mobile devices with adaptive technologies such as Google proxy, we do not acquire the satisfactory results. Usability can prove to be even lower compared to desktop application. One possible solution to the problem could be development of rich client applications for today's mobile devices that would raise the usability to a higher level. We developed a PocketPC prototype application by using user-centered design principles, which we presented as a third alternative in usability research conducted among university students. Results gathered in such a way have confirmed that development of e-Learning system, in order to be widely accepted by students, needs to have the user(student) in the center of development process.

전자무역보안과 전략적 대응방안에 대한 소고 (A Study on E-trade Securities and Strategic Solutions)

  • 본 연구는 통합적 관점에서 전자상거래보안 분야를 전자무역 분야에 체계적으로 접목하여 솔루션을 제시하였다. 전자무역보안에 적용할 수 있는 통합적 관점에서 3가지 정보보안 공격에 대하여 중점적으로 연구하였다. 첫째, 시스템공격, 둘째, 데이터공격, 셋째, 비즈니스공격에 대한 해결책을 중심으로 그 대응방법을 연구하였다. 각각의 해결책에 대하여 다음과 같이 해 볼 수 있다. 전자무역에 관련된 당사자들은 시스템공격, 데이터공격, 비즈니스공격에 대응하기해서 정부측면에서의 전자무역보안에 대한 정책적 관리와 보안인프라의 구축이 요망되고, 기업차원에서는 보안의식 강화와 정보보호장치 즉, 방화벽, 침입탐지시스템(IDS), 공개키기반구조(PKI), 가설사설망(VPN), 안티바이러스제품, 암호화, 생체인식기술 등의 활용 또는 정보보호전문업체를 통한 아웃소싱을 이용한 전자무역보안의 수단을 강구해야 된다. 결론적으로 전자무역기업은 적절한 보안시스템의 도입과 더불어 관리자들의 최근 해킹기술발전에 대하여 신속히 대처하려는 노력이 무엇 보다 중요하다. 전자무역 분야에도 다양한 보안솔루션과 보안인식의 제고가 강조된다.

Characteristic of the Formation and Adhesion of Ice on a Cooling Surface by a Stirring Aqueous Solution

  • Ice adhesion or cohesion leads to the decrease of the performance of ice making system, especially to dynamic type ice thermal storage system (DISS) which mainly forms ice from the flow of an aqueous solution. The ice adhesion is influenced by various parameters associated with operating or geometric condition. In this study, the influence on an adhesion of ice to the characteristic of cooling surface and to composition of an aqueous solution was fundamentally observed by using batch type cooling device,. a beaker. Three patterns of solution in each beaker were cooled with brine. Moreover, the characteristic of cooling surface on each beaker was distinguished to coating materials. Stirring power as a degree of the ice adhesion was measured. The stirring power to cooling heat transfer rate in each beaker was compared. As a result, the lowest stirring power of 8.9 W with non-adhesion of ice, was shown in the case of the aqueous solution of EG(4) + PG(1.5) + 1,6HD(1.5). in PE coating beaker.

  • 통신과 방송의 융합은 오늘날 디지털 환경의 가장 대표적인 혁신이자 신기술로 이미 포화상태에 이른 개별 시장의 한계를 극복하기 위한 대안으로 제시되어 통신 사업자와 방송 사업자 등을 비롯한 관련 산업군의 많은 기업들이 시장에 진입하고 있다. 그러나 해당 서비스 및 시장의 성장이 기대에 미치지 못하는 것이 현실이데, 그 원이 중 하나로 사용자에 대한 이해가 부족하다는 점을 지적할 수 있다. 기존의 통선 기술은 사용자의 도구적 목적을 지원하는 반면, 방송 서비스는 내재적 가치인 오락 기능을 제공하기 위해 주로 사용되었다. 본 연구의 목적은 개별적인 통신과 방송 영역이 융합되었을 때 사용자의 태도와 의사 결정에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 규명하는 것이다. 연구 모델은 내재적 동기인 유희적 가치와 외재적 동기인 실용적 가치, 그리고 융합 서비스의 실제 사용에 있어 내 외부적 조건이 되는 인지된 통제성을 주요 변인으로 제시하고 있다. 이를 검증하기 위해 대표적인 통신 방송 융합 서비스인 DMB를 대상으로 실증 분석을 실시하였다.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 공공 이러닝 프로젝트의 올바른 개선 방향을 제안하고자 함에 있다. 연구 방법은 이러닝 기업에 대한 통계조사와 문헌연구를 병행하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면, 대부분의 경우에 공공 이러닝 프로젝트는 이러닝 기업의 사업에 긍정적인 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 그것은 공공 이러닝 프로젝트가 세가지 문제점을 갖고 있기 때문이며, 본 연구에서는 그 문제점에 대하여 수발주 시스템 관점에서 정책적 해결책을 제시하고자 한다.

국제 전자상거래 변화에 따른 중재활용방안 (A Study on the Utilization of Arbitration in the Change of International E-commerce)

  • This study recognizes that consumers are becoming important as a subject of commerce as they change from the existing e-commerce market to the consumer-led e-commerce market, and proposes the use of consumer intervention as a remedy for consumer damage in international e-commerce disputes. In Korea, there is no separate regulation on consumer arbitration, so we will analyze the U.S. arbitration judgment, which is the most active in consumer arbitration, and examine it through the U.S. arbitration judgment so that arbitration can become active as a remedy for consumer disputes in Korea. In summary, in the event of a dispute between consumers and companies through e-commerce, consumers' preference for arbitration was confirmed through repeated collection of opinions without coercion. It is necessary to revitalize arbitration in Korea to protect consumers through arbitration rather than litigation and to resolve disputes through active alternative dispute resolution as a solution to disputes in e-commerce, which is rapidly increasing through U.S. consumer arbitration cases. The topic of the activation of arbitration has been mentioned a lot before, but the preference for arbitration is still lower than that of litigation. However, from now on, as the appearance of existing commerce has changed to consumer-led e-commerce, it has proposed a plan to use arbitration to rescue consumers from damage as consumers as buyers grow in the market.

비즈니스 생태계의 고객참여와 심리적 오너십: 다음카카오와 페이스북의 생태계 (Customer Participation into Business Ecosystems and Psychological Ownership: DaumKakao and Facebook Ecosystems)

  • Purpose By participating in the business ecosystems, customers make both positive and negative impacts in the ecosystem. In particular, users of platform businesses participate in the business ecosystem as partial employees who voluntarily create and manage content. According to the organizational behavior literature, employees' psychological ownership toward the organization has an influence on the organizational competitiveness. Thus, with an assumption that customers gain psychological ownership toward the business that they participate in, it is important to analyze the process and the factors that influence their psychological ownership. This study proposes a research model that describes the process: customers undertake customer socialization, which then lead them to participate in the business-level and the business ecosystem-level activities. Through the participation, customers gain psychological ownership toward the business. Design/methodology/approach Based on a structural equation model, this study analyzes the data regarding the factors in the research model. Data was collected by surveying college students who represent themselves as Facebook and DaumKakao users. By analyzing the collected data, the relationships are validated between customer socialization and customer participations (i.e., both business-level and business ecosystem-level participation), and between the participations and customers' psychological ownership. Findings Based on the validation, this study confirms the importance of managing customers' psychological ownership and offers customers' participation by their socialization as a solution for increasing customers' psychological ownership. Also, this study proposes the business ecosystem research model as the general research framework for future research and expands the scope of strategic management from the individual level strategy to the business ecosystem wide perspective.

  • The development of mobile applications is fast in recent years. However, nearly all applications are for messaging, financial, locating services based on simple interactions with mobile users because of the limited screen size, narrow network bandwidth, and low computing power. Processing an algorithm for supporting a group decision process on mobile devices becomes impossible. In this paper, we introduce the mobile-oriented simple interactive procedure for support a group decision making process. The interactive procedure is developed for multiple objective linear programming problems to help the group select a compromising solution in the mobile Internet environment. Our procedure lessens the burden of group decision makers, which is one of necessary conditions of the mobile environment. Only the partial weak order preferences of variables and objectives from group decision makers are enough for searching the best compromising solution. The methodology is designed to avoid any assumption about the shape or existence of the decision makers's utility function. For the purpose of the experimental study of the procedure, we developed a group decision support system in the mobile Internet environment, MOBIGSS and applied to an allocation problem of investor assets.

올바른 국내 그린(Green) IT 추진 방향에 관한 소고 (A Thought on the Right Green IT Policy Direction for Korea)

  • 급속한 경제성장은 환경오염이라는 부작용을 초래하게 되었고 이를 해결하기 위한 방안중 하나로 그린 IT가 등장하게 되었다. 그린 IT는 환경오염을 해결할 수 있는 방안인 동시에 침체된 IT 산업의 새로운 성장동력으로서 주목을 받고 있다. 특히 국내는 에너지 소비의대부분을 수입에 의존하고, 수출의존적인 경제구조를 가지고 있으므로, 경쟁력을 가진 IT기술을 바탕으로 그린 IT 시장 선점이 무엇보다 필요한 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 그린 IT 산업을 선도하기 위한 시사점을 제안하기 위해 국내 및 주요국 그린 IT 추진 현황을 정부 정책 및 기업 전략 측면에서 살펴보고, 국내 그린 IT 추진 현황의 문제점을 짚어보고자 한다.
