  • AIS-ASM is a one of the study to provide a variety of maritime safety information as well as ship's position and navigational information that is their own function since 2004. This study aims to reduce the marine officer's workload through automating marine officer's mandatory reporting items using the one of the next maritime digital communication technology (ASM2.0). For this purpose, we designed and experimented of the ASM2.0 protocol through analyzing a domestic regulation about passenger flight and AIS-ASM message.

  • AIS-ASM is one of the studies to provide a variety of maritime safety information as well as the information on a ship's position that is their own function, and AIS-ASM has been implemented with adjustment of the relevant regulations since 2004. However, it was reported that the increased use of ASM message on the existing AIS channel affects the part of the existing AIS own function such as the transmission of the ship's position and safe-related information. Also, seamless MSP service is difficult to provide at a low transmission rate of the existing AIS channel. This study aims to reduce the marine officer's workload through automating captain's mandatory reporting items using the one of the next maritime digital communication technology (ASM2.0). For this purpose, we designed and realized the ASM2.0 protocol through analyzing domestic regulations about passenger flight and AIS-ASM message.

  • 선박 운항 안전을 위한 기술은 선박 자체뿐만 아니라 육상 해상교통관제 시스템(VTS)에서도 매우 중요한 역할을 수행한다. 최근 국제적으로 e-Navigation을 지향한 최신 IT기술을 반영한 새로운 안전운행을 지원하기 위한 VTS 항행 지원 기술개발이 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 이러한 국제적 변화와 더불어 최근 국내외에서 AIS의 확장인 ASM을 통한 신규 서비스 제안이 활발하게 이루어지고 있으며, 해당 서비스를 시범서비스하고 이를 국제 표준으로 추진하고자 하는 업체와 IALA 등 해당 그룹들이 계속 증가되고 있다. 특히 국내에서는 VTS의 개발을 추진하고 있으므로 기존의 VTS에서 제공하지 않았던 ASM 서비스를 제안하고 이를 구현하여 시뮬레이션하여 가능성을 검증하고자 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 항행지원을 증가하는 e-Navigation 환경에서 국내 VTS 시스템에서 적용 가능한 방안을 연구하고, 이들을 비교하여 실제 적용할 수 있는 기술개발 방향을 정립하고자 한다.

Water Digital Twin for High-tech Electronics Industrial Wastewater Treatment System (II): e-ASM Calibration, Effluent Prediction, Process selection, and Design (첨단 전자산업 폐수처리시설의 Water Digital Twin(II): e-ASM 모델 보정, 수질 예측, 공정 선택과 설계)

  • In this study, an electronics industrial wastewater activated sludge model (e-ASM) to be used as a Water Digital Twin was calibrated based on real high-tech electronics industrial wastewater treatment measurements from lab-scale and pilot-scale reactors, and examined for its treatment performance, effluent quality prediction, and optimal process selection. For specialized modeling of a high-tech electronics industrial wastewater treatment system, the kinetic parameters of the e-ASM were identified by a sensitivity analysis and calibrated by the multiple response surface method (MRS). The calibrated e-ASM showed a high compatibility of more than 90% with the experimental data from the lab-scale and pilot-scale processes. Four electronics industrial wastewater treatment processes-MLE, A2/O, 4-stage MLE-MBR, and Bardenpo-MBR-were implemented with the proposed Water Digital Twin to compare their removal efficiencies according to various electronics industrial wastewater characteristics. Bardenpo-MBR stably removed more than 90% of the chemical oxygen demand (COD) and showed the highest nitrogen removal efficiency. Furthermore, a high concentration of 1,800 mg L-1 T MAH influent could be 98% removed when the HRT of the Bardenpho-MBR process was more than 3 days. Hence, it is expected that the e-ASM in this study can be used as a Water Digital Twin platform with high compatibility in a variety of situations, including plant optimization, Water AI, and the selection of best available technology (BAT) for a sustainable high-tech electronics industry.

VDES 적용 방안에 관한 연구

  • VDES는 최근 IMO에서 e-Navigation 및 GMDSS 현대화작업과 관련하여 도입을 추진 중인 해상에서의 VHF 디지털 통신시스템이다. VDES는 기존의 AIS 뿐만 아니라 디지털 VHF에 해당하는 VDE와 AIS 응용서비스인 ASM 및 위성 VDE까지 포함하는 광범위한 개념으로 검토되고 있다. VHF 디지털 통신용 주파수의 기본적인 분배는 이미 완료되었으며, 일부 세부내용은 2015년에 결정되고 2017년부터 적용될 예정이다. 우리나라에서도 e-Navigation과 더불어 VDES 도입을 적극 검토하고 있다. 여기에서는 VDES를 도입 적용하는데 있어서 고려해야 할 주파수와 간섭문제 등에 대하여 분석하였다.

  • Electronics industrial wastewater treatment facilities release organic wastewaters containing high concentrations of organic pollutants and more than 20 toxic non-biodegradable pollutants. One of the major challenges of the fourth industrial revolution era for the electronics industry is how to treat electronics industrial wastewater efficiently. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an electronics industrial wastewater modeling technique that can evaluate the removal efficiency of organic pollutants, such as chemical oxygen demand (COD), total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorous (TP), and tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH), by digital twinning an electronics industrial organic wastewater treatment facility in a cyber physical system (CPS). In this study, an electronics industrial wastewater activated sludge model (e-ASM) was developed based on the theoretical reaction rates for the removal mechanisms of electronics industrial wastewater considering the growth and decay of micro-organisms. The developed e-ASM can model complex biological removal mechanisms, such as the inhibition of nitrification micro-organisms by non-biodegradable organic pollutants including TMAH, as well as the oxidation, nitrification, and denitrification processes. The proposed e-ASM can be implemented as a Water Digital Twin for real electronics industrial wastewater treatment systems and be utilized for process modeling, effluent quality prediction, process selection, and design efficiency across varying influent characteristics on a CPS.

  • Recently, researches of technology and standardization for maritime safety are proceeding internationally. In particular, some technologies and strategies for e-Navigation have been developed and the necessity of development of next generation VTS (Vessel Traffic Service) has been raised in Korea. In order to construct user oriented VTS system for domestic environment, VTS operators are asked for their requirements related to developing VTS and the opinions should be reflected in the VTS. So in this paper, we collect the requirements from fifteen VTS centers in the country and we also analyze them. Furthermore, we propose an ASM (Application Specific Messages) service, which was not supported by current VTS, and we verify the proposed ASM through AIS (Automatic Identification System) system and simulation terminal for maritime safety.

  • 최근 국내의 해양사고 원인은 인적 오류에 의한 사고가 약 80% 이상으로 제시되고 있다. 이 중 가장 높은 사고 원인은 '경계 소홀'(43.0%)로 전체 사고의 절반에 이르고 있다. 따라서 관제 및 항해 업무에 대한 집중력 향상과 점유적 관리에 대한 연구가 필수적으로 요구된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 선박이 관제 영역 내에 있을 경우 관제사에게 통보하여 관제 집중도를 향상시키고, ASM (Application Specific Message) 서비스와 연계하여 VHF음성통신으로 인한 정보 부재의 취약성을 보완하여, 안전한 항해 및 관제의 효율성을 제공하는 방식을 제안하고자 한다.

  • A variety of sensors and equipment are installed on passenger ships. Data collection from these sensors and associated equipment is required for the safe navigation and behavior analysis of ships, but when the ship sails out of the area where it is not possible to use the LTE communication, other types of networks have to be able to support to transmit these information. such as AIS, satellite communication and MF/HF. In this paper, we survey data protocol of onboard sensors and design ASM messages to transfer sensor data on board to the shore-side system.

  • IMO e-Navigation is ongoing project for safety navigation and protection of maritime environment. Maritime Cloud is a part of e-Navigation Strategy Implementation Plan. It is IT framework technology for exchanging information among maritime stakeholders. We found configuration and operation process by analysis on Maritime Cloud architecture and EPD which is a client program. Through the result, we actually implemented client program. Client program targets Berthing data serviced on AIS-ASM. And we used MMS which is function of message exchanging of Maritime Cloud. The test result show data exchanging succeeded. And it will be helpful to develop Maritime Cloud service, to advance Korean Maritime Cloud.
