  • Embryonic genome activation (EGA) is a highly complex phenomenon that is controlled at various levels. New studies have ascertained some molecular mechanisms that control EGA in several species; it is apparent that these same mechanisms regulate EGA in all species. Protein phosphorylation, DNA methylation and histone modification regulate transcriptional activities, and mechanisms such as ubiquitination, SUMOylation and microRNAs post-transcriptionally regulate development. Each of these regulations is highly dynamic in the early embryo. A better understanding of these regulatory strategies can provide the possibility to improve the reproductive properties in mammals such as pigs, to develop methods of generating high-quality embryos in vitro, and to find markers for selecting developmentally competent embryos.

  • The OSGi platform is a Java-based component platform that is being widely used from environments for the application development to enterprise software. The OSGi platform provides dynamic and transparent installation for open environments. However, it open new attacks so that many researches try to solve OSGi vulnerability. Security flaws in OSGi platform are categorized two parts: the JVM and the OSGi platform itself. We focus on vulnerability by OSGi platform itself, particularly service injection. We identify the service injection attack and suggest secure mechanisms to prevent the attack. Those mechanisms are implemented, providing a few modification to the Knopflerfish OSGi implementation and are evaluated through comparing with existing mechanisms.

  • The present research intends to study the effects of the seismic soil-foundation-structure interaction (SFSI) on the dynamic response of various buildings. Two methods including direct and Cone model were studied through 3D finite element method using ABAQUS software. Cone model as an approximate method to consider the SFSI phenomenon was developed and evaluated for both high and low rise buildings. Effect of soil nonlinearity, foundation rigidity and embedment as well as friction coefficient between soil-foundation interfaces during seismic excitation are investigated. Validity and performance of both approaches are evaluated as reference graphs for Cone model and infinite boundary condition, soil nonlinearity and amplification factor for direct method. A series of calculations by DeepSoil for inverse earthquake record modification was conducted. A comparison of the two methods was carried out by root-mean-square-deviation (RMSD) tool for maximum lateral displacement and story shear forces which verifies that Cone model results have good agreement with direct method. It was concluded that Cone method is a convenient, fast and rather accurate method as an approximate way to count for soil media.

  • The major problems in workflow system which controls business process arise with the difficulty of managing a vast volume of data. In this paper, a more reasonable method to manage workflow data is proposed after analyzing the data being used in workflow system. The data used in workflow system can be classified to model data, control data, workitem data and relevant data. The prime accent is placed on the workflow model data, as the model data is normally consistent and referenced more frequently that if the data is used efficiently, it is anticipated to give a good performance to workflow system. Relying on an intensive study, this paper designs and develops a model data system. This model data system is based on memory and manages versions, consistency, dynamic modification, and etc

  • In this paper, through the implementation of the application service, we evaluated the feasibility and availability of the staged application service platform, which is based on the sharing of the PVM cluster. Application service platform provides three managers for dividing the request processing steps into two stages, such as a request processing stage and a service providing stage. Three managers and its relation to the divided stages are as follows, service manager and load manager to distribute the request in front-end server for a request processing stage, job manager in clustered(back-end) servers for a service providing stage. The experiment shows that the staged application service platform provides more stable and scalable characteristics and better performance improvement on the dynamic load changes than the single server system. And also it shows that real application service system can be implemented easily without modification of the proposed service platform.

  • IPv6 is a protocol to solve the address space limitation of IPv4 by IETF. Many transition mechanism to communicate between IPv4 and IPv6 in mixed IPv4/IPv6 network are proposed. DSTM tunneling is a mechanism that dual stack in IPv6 network is able to communicate with node in IPv4 network by dynamic allocating the IPv4 address. This mechanism supports the execution of IPv4 dependent application without modification at IPv6 network. In this paper, we explain the security vulnerability at DSTM network for DHCP attack, TEP attack, and source spoofing attack then describe the result of attacks.

  • A supercritical carbon dioxide (SCC) process of dispersion of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) into epoxy resin has been developed to achieve MWCNT/epoxy composites (CECs) with improved mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties. The synthesis of CECs has been executed at a MWCNT (phr) concentration ranging from 0.1 to 0.3 into epoxy resin (0.1 mol) at 1800 psi, $90^{\circ}C$, and 1500 rpm over 1 h followed by curing of the MWCNT/epoxy formulations with triethylene tetramine (15 phr). The effect of SCC treatment on the qualitative dispersion of MWCNTs at various concentrations into the epoxy has been investigated through spectra analyses and microscopy. The developed SCC assisted process provides a good dispersion of MWCNTs into the epoxy up to a MWCNT concentration of 0.2. The effects of SCC assisted dispersion at various concentrations of MWCNTs on modification of mechanical, thermal, dynamic mechanical thermal, and tribological properties and the electrical conductivity of CECs have been investigated.

  • Techniques which are able to predict and control dynamic characteristics, not affecting the vibrational characteristics on the modification of structural design, are being studied. As one of these techniques, experimental modal analysis is widely applied by many researchers. In this study, modal analysis is performed using transfer matrix method by a macro computer. The developed program would estimate the structural modal parameters precisely, and the validity of this program is certified by comparing with the experimental results of .GAMMA A. structure. Estimated modal parameters(natural frequency, vibrational mode, equivalent mass, etc.) are in accord with the experimental results. Also, the optimal location of the additive mass is determined by the evaluation of the vibrational mode and the equivalent mass. The relation between the additive mass and the equivalent mass is specified, and we come to know that the ratio of equivalent mass to additive mass alter linearly within the range of 20%.

  • The transportation is almost dependent on a single fuel petroleum with transportation energy dilemma. Hybrid Electric Vehicle(HEV) technology holds more advantages on efficiency improvements for petroleum consumption at the transportation. And bearing is recognized as the important component of gearbox. Gearboxes for HEV transmission have been ensured the highest reliability over some years in withstanding high dynamic loads. At the same time, the demands of lightweight design and cost minimization are required by thought-out design, high-quality material, superior production quality and maintenance. In order to design a reliable and lightweight gearbox, it is necessary to analyze bearing rating life methods between standard and different bearing companies with calculation methods for modification factors. In this paper, the influence of life time of bearings will be pointed out. Bearing contact stress and load stress distribution of HEV gearbox are obtained and compared with Romaxdesigner and BearinX. And the unequal wear of the left bearing for the gearbox intermediate shaft is investigated between simulation and test.

  • In this research, a typical tension-leg type of floating platform incorporated with an innovative concept of underwater tuned liquid column damper system (UWTLCD) is studied. The purpose of this study is to improve the structural safety by means of mitigating the wave induced vibrations and stresses on the offshore floating Tension Leg Platform (TLP) system. Based on some encouraging results from a previous study, where a Tuned Liquid Column Damper (TLCD) system was employed in a floating platform system to reduce the vibration of the main structure, in this study, the traditional TLCD system was modified and tested. Firstly, the orifice-tube was replaced with a smaller horizontal tube and secondly, the TLCD system was combined into the pontoon system under the platform. The modification creates a multipurpose pontoon system associated with vibration mitigation function. On the other hand, the UWTLCD that is installed underwater instead would not occupy any additional space on the platform and yet provide buoyancy to the system. Experimental tests were performed for the mitigation effect and parameters besides the wave conditions, such as pontoon draught and liquid-length in the TLCD were taken into account in the test. It is found that the accurately tuned UWTLCD system could effectively reduce the dynamic response of the offshore platform system in terms of both the vibration amplitude and tensile forces measured in the mooring tethers.
