A lumped mass damped vibratory model was proposed for quantitative understanding of welding machine characteristics. An experimental setup was developed to determine the mechanical parameters (moving mass m, equivalent stiffness k and damping c) which govern the dynamic mechanical response of the resistance spot welding machine. During the test, acceleration of the electrodes for each level of applied load was measured by accelerometer, filtered and numerically integrated to find the corresponding velocity and displacement. The machine dynamic parameters were determined by finding the unknowns of the proposed model with experimental data. A Simulink model was proposed to investigate the influence of these mechanical parameters on the welding process. The electrode response was simulated by changing values of stiffness and damping. It was observed that both of the machine parameters(c, k) have significant effect on the response of electrode head.

A new mechanical model for predicting the vibration of a pipe pile embedded in longitudinally layered visco-elastic media with radial inhomogeneity is proposed by extending Novak's plain-strain model and complex stiffness method to consider viscous-type damping. The analytical solutions for the dynamic impedance, the velocity admittance and the reflected signal of wave velocity at the pile head are also derived and subsequently verified by comparison with existing solutions. An extensive parametric analysis is further performed to examine the effects of shear modulus, viscous damping coefficient, coefficient of disturbance degree, weakening or strengthening range of surrounding soil and longitudinal soft or hard interbedded layer on the velocity admittance and the reflected signal of wave velocity at the pile head. It is demonstrated that the proposed model and the obtained solutions provide extensive possibilities for practical application compared with previous related studies.

In this study, the analysis of 2DOF (2 Degree Of Freedom) motion and added resistance of a ship in regular head waves is carried out using RANS (Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes) approach. In order to improve the accuracy for large amplitude motions, the dynamic overset scheme is adopted. One of the dynamic overset schemes, Suggar++ is applied to WAVIS which is the in-house RANS code of KRISO (Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering). The grid convergence test is carried out using the present scheme before the analysis. The target hull form is KRISO VLCC tanker (KVLCC2) and 13 wave length conditions are applied. The present scheme shows the improved results comparing with the results of WAVIS2 in the non-inertial reference frame. The dynamic overset scheme is confirmed to give the comparatively better results for the large amplitude motion cases than the non-inertial frame based scheme.

The energy transferred on drill rods by dynamic impact mainly determines the penetration depth for in-situ tests. In this study, the dynamic response and transferred energy of drill rods are determined from the frequency of the stress waves. AW-type drill rods of lengths 1 to 3 m are prepared, and strain gauges and an accelerometer are installed at the head and tip of the connected rods. The drill rods are hung on strings, allowing free vibration, and then impacted by a pendulum hammer with fixed potential energy. Increasing the rod length L increases the wave roundtrip time (2L/c, where c is the wave velocity), and hence the transferred energy at the rod head. At the rod tip, the first velocity peak is higher than the first force peak because a large and tensile stress wave is reflected, and the transferred energy converges to zero. The resonant frequency increases with rod length in the waveforms measured by the strain gauges, and fluctuates in the waveforms measured by the accelerometer. In addition, the dynamic response and transferred energy are perturbed when the cutoff frequency is lower than 2 kHz. This study implies that the resonant frequency should be considered for the interpretation of transferred energy on drill rods.
The proposed head-space supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) methodology as an alternative to an existing conventional procedure was explored for the determination of organochlorine compounds in aqueous matrix. In this study, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) were utilized as target analytes. To enhance the recovery efficiency, the factors such as the $CO _2$ density, the extraction time, and the extraction mode were investigated. Furthermore, the analytical procedures and the results obtained were compared with those provided by the conventional method (the U.S. EPA method 8080). Under the optimized conditions, i.e., a combination of static with dynamic SFE mode at 2,000 psi and 40 ${^{\circ}C}$, the head-space SFE methodology gave equivalent or better to the conventional method in recovery efficiencies with clear advantages such as simple sample treatment and fast analysis time as well as reduced solvent and reagent consumption.

In this paper, new methods are proposed which speed up the logical redundancy identification for the gate-level logic optimization. Redundancy indentification, as well as deterministic test pattern generation, can be viewed as a finite space search problem, of which execution time depends on the size of the search space. For the purpose of efficient search, we propose dynamic head line and mandatory assignment. Dynamic head lines are changed dynamically in the process of the redundancy identification. Mandatory assignement can avoid unnecessary assignment. They can reduce the search size efficiently. Especially they can be used even though the circuit is modified in the optimization procedure, that is different from the test pattern generation methods. Some experimental results are presented indicating that the proposed methods are faster than existing methods.

For the assembly and evaluation of solid immersion lens (SIL) optical head which is the key component of SIL based near field recording (NFR) technology, we modify the Twyman-Green interferometer. Super-hemisphere SIL optical head for the surface recording is assembled and evaluated by the modified Twyman-Green interferometer. In order to verify the optical performance of the assembled SIL optical head, we compare the measured results of the SIL optical head with the simulation ones. Finally, we show the feasibility of applying the assembled SIL optical head to near field recording system by the experiment of the dynamic gap control based on test bed.
The routing algorithm many used in the wireless sensor network features the clustering method to reduce the amount of data transmission from the energy efficiency perspective. However, the clustering method results in high energy consumption at the cluster head node. Dynamic clustering is a method used to resolve such a problem by distributing energy consumption through the re-selection of the cluster head node. Still, dynamic clustering modifies the cluster structure every time the cluster head node is re-selected, which causes energy consumption. In other words, the dynamic clustering approaches examined in previous studies involve the repetitive processes of cluster head node selection. This consumes a high amount of energy during the set-up process of cluster generation. In order to resolve the energy consumption problem associated with the repetitive set-up, this paper proposes the Round-Robin Cluster Header (RRCH) method that fixes the cluster and selects the head node in a round-robin method The RRCH approach is an energy-efficient method that realizes consistent and balanced energy consumption in each node of a generated cluster to prevent repetitious set-up processes as in the LEACH method. The propriety of the proposed method is substantiated with a simulation experiment.
Purpose: This study investigated the correlation between physical function and forward head posture in spastic diplegia. Methods: The subjects of this study were 10 spastic diplegia patients. We took pictures of the subjects' craniovertebral angle with a digital camera to determine the degree of forward head posture and then analyzed them using the NIH image J program. The physical function test used the TCMS, the BBT, and a spirometer. The data in this study were measured using SPSS version 23.0, and the statistical significance level α was 0.05. A Pearson correlation coefficient analysis was performed to identify the correlation between the degree of the subject's head forward position and physical function. Results: When we performed the BBT and spirometer tests, the subjects' forward head postures were not correlated (p < 0.05). However, with the TCMS, there was a strong correlation between the forward position of the head and balance, with balance decreasing as the head position increased (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Spastic diplegia patients with severe forward head posture showed problems with static balance, dynamic balance, and equilibrium reaction when sitting. Intervention on the right posture and preventive activities will be needed to improve the health of spastic diplegia patients and prevent future problems with physical function.
Purpose: Snapping triceps syndrome is dynamic condition in which medial head of triceps snaps (dislocates) over the medial epicondyle as the elbow is flexed. Materials and Methods: The symptoms are pain or snapping at the medial aspect of the elbow and/or symptoms from coexisting ulnar nerve irritation. The diagnosis can be made by dynamic ultrasonography. Results and Conclusion: And successful outcome can be archived by operative treatment, which are ulnar nerve anterior transposition and tenotomy of medial head of triceps.
