Purpose: Previous studies have reported that action observation training has beneficial effects on enhancing the motor task, such as balance and gait functions. On the other hand, there have been few studies combined with action observation training and auditory feedback. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of action observation training with auditory feedback on the gait function in stroke patients with hemiparesis Methods: A total of 24 inpatients with post-stroke hemiparesis were assigned randomly to either an experimental group 1 (EG 1, n=8), experiment group 2 (EG 2, n=8), control group (CG, n=8, EG 1). The EG 2 and CG watched video clip demonstrating three functional walking tasks with auditory feedback, without auditory feedback, and showing a landscape image, respectively. The exercise program consisted of 30 minutes, five times a week, for four weeks. The participants were measured to 10MWT (10 m walk test), 6MWT (6 minutes walking distance test), TUG (timed up and go test), DGI (dynamic gait index), time and steps of F8WT (figure-of-8 walk test). Results: In the intra-group comparison after the intervention, EG 1 and EG 2 showed a significantly different gait function (10MWT, 6MWT, DGI, TUG, F8WT) (p<0.05). In the inter-group comparison after intervention, EG 1 showed significant improvements in the entire gait parameters and EG 2 only showed significant improvement in DGI and TUG compared to CG (p<0.05). Conclusion: These findings show that action observation training with auditory feedback may be used beneficially for improving the gait function of stroke patients with hemiparesis.
The purpose of this study is to develop a cycle-free signal timing model for minimizing delays based on Third-generation control concept using Genetic Algorithm. A special feature of this model is its ability to manage delays of turning movements on the cycle basis. The model produces a cycle-free based signal timing(cycles and green times) for each intersection to minimize delays of turning movements on the cycle basis. The performance of cycle-free signal timings was evaluated on normal (v/c = 0.7) and oversaturated (v/c=1.0) conditions. The performance measures are throughput and the number of queued vehicles at the end of green time. The result shows that the cycle free signal timing is superior to the fixed signal timing to manage traffic flows of intersections; (1) the proposed model accomplishes the basic objective of the research, producing cycle free signal timings on the cycle basis, (2) on normal conditions, cycle free signal timings produce less queued vehicles at the end of green time, and (3) on oversaturated conditions, the cycle free signal timing is superior to the fixed signal timing to manage saturated traffic flows of intersections.

An antiroll-bar assembly is a precision component that is designed to control the rolling of railway cars. It is important for ensuring a safe and comfortable ride. A torsion bar is the main part of the antiroll-bar assembly. Now, this part is classified as a consumable, and it is imported into Korea from France. Therefore, there is a strong need to domestically develop a torsion bar suitable for Korean conditions and to reduce cost and improve quality. In this study, an antiroll bar is developed, and it is analyzed and tested by using a road histogram measured on Korean railroads. This bar shows satisfactory results in a comparison with the imported bar. It has a novel design featuring a ring cover made of SUS steels to prevent the corrosion of the torsion bar. Its safety is examined through CAE analysis and wear tests. It is found that its design does not result in a significant difference in static and fatigue safety. Two different SUS steels were investigated in terms of their wear resistance, and the best one was adopted.

PURPOSE: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of closed and open kinetic exercises on knee extensor strength and balance in patients with early stroke. METHODS: Thirty patients with early stroke participated in the study. Participants were randomly assigned to three groups: an open kinetic chain (OKC) exercise group (n=10), a closed kinetic chain (CKC) exercise group (n=10), and a control group (n=10). All participants received conventional physical therapy for 30 minutes. In addition, the two experimental groups (OKC and CKC) participated in a 30-minute knee strengthening training program. Training for the experimental groups was carried out three times a week for four weeks. Outcomes such as knee extensor strength and balance ability (Tetrax, Functional Reaching Test, Timed Up and Go Test) were measured before and after training. RESULTS: There were significant differences in knee extensor strength and balance ability between the pre- and post-treatment of all groups (p<.05). The improvement of knee extensor strength was significantly higher in the OKC group than in the other groups (p<.05), and the improvement of dynamic balance was significantly higher in the CKC group than in the other groups (p<.05). CONCLUSION: These results showed that both open and closed kinetic chain exercises are effective in the improvement of knee extensor strength and balance ability. This study suggests that open and closed kinetic exercise training is an effective training for strength and balance in patients with early stroke.

A voice coil actuator with a rotating moving magnet has been developed for a miniaturized mobile robot. The actuator has simple structure comprising a magnet, a coil, and a yoke. Actuator performance is predicted using a linearized theoretical model, and dynamic performance based on the air-gap between the magnet and the coil is predicted using motor constant and restoring constant obtained through finite element simulations. The theoretical model was verified using a prototype with 60 Hz resonance and 80 Hz bandwidth. We found that an input of 1.5 V can make the actuator rotate by $20^{\circ}$ statically. The driving configuration of the proposed actuator can be simplified because of its implementation of open-loop control.
The sensors attached on/in a person are moved since human body frequency changes their activity, therefore in wireless body area networks, nodal mobility and non-line-of-sight condition will impact on performance of networks such as energy efficiency and reliable communication. We then proposed schemes which study on forwarding decisions against frequent change of topology and channel conditions to increase reliable connections and improve energy efficiency. In this work, we control the size of packets, forwarding rate based on ratio of input links and output links at each node. We also robust the network topology by extending the peer to peer IEEE 802.15.4-based. The adaptive topology from chain-based to grid-based can optimal our schemes. The simulation shows that these approaches are not only extending network lifetime to 48.2 percent but also increase around 6.08 percent the packet delivery ratio. The "hot spots" problem is also resolved with this approach.
Computers have been increasingly recognized as tools for teaming, in addition to supporting industrial works. Such advantages e-Learning have as teaming at any time and place, distribution and management of standardized contents, mentoring with learners, immediate feed-backs, and dynamic learning have been applied in a variety of divisions. Despite of the researches and interests, the study on the different views between teachers who design and operate e-learning and students who receive lessons hasn't been enough. So it studied the recognition of middle school teachers and students on the e-Learning. <중략>The research result showed that there were similarity in the views between teachers and students on the concept of e-Learning. Many teachers and students have experienced the e-Learning directly or indirectly. Teachers and students showed similar opinions on the beforehand education and preferred subjects of the e-Learning. But the students required fast and immediate feedback of the teachers. Teachers and students showed similar opinions on the utilization of multimedia components to achieve the goal of education. But teachers thought that immediate feedback was important. The students thought it important to control the degree of difficulty. It suggests a way to activate the e-Learning of middle school efficiently with the research result.
The Down-the-Hole hammer is one of the pneumatic drill equipment used for grinding, drilling, and mining. One the advantages of which is that a reduction work efficiency at deep site are relatively small compared to other drilling methods. Due to the large vibration in the underground area, it is difficult to measure the performance of the hammer, and hammer testing requires substantial production cost and operating expenses so research on the development of the hammer is insufficient. Therefore, this study has developed a dynamic simulation model that apprehends the operating principles of an 8-inch DTH hammer and calculates performance data such as performance impact force, piston speed, and BPM. By using the simulation model, design factors related to strike force and BPM were selected, and the influence of each design factors on performance was analyzed through ANOVA analysis. As a result, be the most important for BPM and the strike force are position of upper port that push the piston in the direction of the bit and in BPM, the size of the empty space between the bits and the piston is the second most important design factor.

The TCP protocol is originally designed for wired network, however it performs very poor in wireless network due to different nature of wireless network from wired networks. In terms of TCP performance improvement in wireless Ad-hoc network, many researches show that small congestion window size of TCP connection can improve TCP performance. We propose a new TCP algorithm to improve TCP performance in wireless Ad-hoc network. The basic idea of our approach is that TCP receiver estimates the optimum window size and then sets congestion window limit of TCP sender to an optimum value by using the advertised window field in TCP ACK packet. From extensive computer simulation, the proposed algorithm shows superior performance than traditional TCP protocols in terms of packet delivery ratio and packet loss.

Ad-Hoc network technology is a mobile internet technology of the future that will be used widely not only in Mobile Network but also in Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) and Ubiquitous Network For this to occur, distributed routing protocol design, loop prevention for link information reduction in overhead for control messages and route restoration algorithm must be improved or complemented. Security techniques that can guarantee safe com-munication between Ad-Hot nodes net also be provided. This study proposes and evaluates a new authentication mechanism for MANET. The mechanism segregates the roles of certification authority to keep with the dynamic mobility of nodes and handle rapid and random topological changes with minimal over-head. That is, this model is characterized by its high expandability that allows the network to perform authentication service without the influence of joining and leaving nodes. The efficiency and security of this concept was evaluated through simulation.
