  • Sensor fusion is the one of the main research topics. It offers the highly reliable estimation of vehicle movement by processing and mixing several sensor outputs. But unfortunately, every sensor has drift which degrades the performance of sensor. It means a single degraded sensor output may affect whole sensor fusion system. Drift in most research is ideally assumed to be zero because it's usually a nonlinear model and has sample variation. Plus, it's very difficult for the acceleration to separate drift from the output signal since it contains many contributors such as vehicle acceleration, slope angle, pitch angle, surface condition and so on. In this paper, modified spline interpolation is introduced as a dynamic temperature compensation method covering sample variation. Using the last known output and the first initial output is suggested to build and update compensation factor. When the system has more compensation data, the system will have better performance of compensated output because of the regression compensation model. The performance of the dynamic temperature compensation system is evaluated by measuring offset drift between with and without the compensation.

  • 본 논문은 PQR 순시전력 이론을 이용하여 순시전압보상장치 (DVR)에서 기준보상전압을 결정하는 방법을 제시한다. 측정된 3상 단자 전압은 시간지연 없이 PQR 좌표계로 변환된다. PQR 좌표계의 기준전압은 단일한 직류값이므로 DVR의 전압제어기는 단순하고 쉽게 설계가 가능해 진다. 제안된 제어방식은 피드백 제어기나 피드포워드 제어기에 모두 적용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 피드포워드 제어기에 대하여 이론을 적용하였으며 실험 및 시뮬레이션으로 검증을 하였다.

  • A more accurate method of measuring the electrical conductivity (L) of solutions was developed by applying dynamic temperature compensation for measurement of L. Temperature changes of a sample were induced by a heater probe and the changes in L per unit temperature were measured. An equation for L with respect to temperature change was developed and L at the standard temperature ($25^{\circ}C$) was computed. Based on our proposed method, it is possible to have temperature compensation without having the temperature coefficients in advance.

  • An approach to robot force control, which allows force manipulations to be realized without overshot and overdamping while in the presence of unknown environment, is given in this paper. The main idea is to use dynamic compensation for known robot parts and fuzzy compensation for unknown environment so as to improve system performance. The fuzzy compensation is implemented by using rule based fuzzy approach to identify unknown environment. The establishment of proposed control system consists of following two stages. First, similar to the resolved acceleration control method, dynamic compensation and PID control based on known robot dynamics, kinematics and estimated environment compliance is introduced. To avoid overshoot the whole control system is constructed overdamped. In the second stage, the unknown environment stiffness is estimated by using fuzzy reasoning, where the fuzzy estimation rules are obtained priori as the expression of the relationship between environment stiffness and system response. Based on simulation result, comparisons between cases with or without fuzzy identifications are given, which illustrate the improvement achieved.

Modeling and Control Design of Dynamic Voltage Restorer in Microgrids Based on a Novel Composite Controller

  • A Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) model is proposed to eliminate the short-term voltage disturbances that occur in the grid-connected mode, the switching between grid-connected mode and the stand-alone mode of a Microgrid. The proposed DVR structure is based on a conventional cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverter (MLI) topology; a novel composite control strategy is presented, which could ensure the compensation ability of voltage sag by the DVR. Moreover, the compensation to specified order of harmonic is added to implement effects that zero-steady error compensation to harmonic voltage in specified order of the presented control strategy; utilizing wind turbines-batteries units as DC energy storage components in the Microgrid, the operation cost of the DVR is reduced. When the Microgrid operates under stand-alone mode, the DVR can operate on microsource mode, which could ease the power supply from the main grid (distribution network) and consequently be favorable for energy saving and emission reduction. Simulation results validate the robustness and effective of the proposed DVR system.

Ultrasound Image Enhancement Based on Automatic Time Gain Compensation and Dynamic Range Control

  • For efficient and accurate diagnosis of ultrasound images, appropriate time gain compensation(TGC) and dynamic range(DR) control of ultrasound echo signals are important. TGC is used for compensating the attenuation of ultrasound echo signals along the depth, and DR controls the image contrast. In recent ultrasound systems, these two factors are automatically set by a system and/or manually adjusted by an operator to obtain the desired image quality on the screen. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to find the optimized parameter values far TGC and DR automatically. In TGC optimization, we determine the degree of attenuation compensation along the depth by dividing an image into vertical strips and reliably estimating the attenuation characteristic of ultrasound signals. For DR optimization, we define a novel cost function by properly using the characteristics of ultrasound images. We obtain experimental results by applying the proposed algorithm to a real ultrasound(US) imaging system. The results verify that the proposed algorithm automatically sets values of TGC and DR in real-time such that the subjective quality of the enhanced ultrasound images may be sufficiently high for efficient and accurate diagnosis.

  • A dynamic anti-windup method for state delayed control systems with input saturation is considered. Under the assumption that a linear controller has been designed for a state delayed control system based on the existing design technique which shows desirable nominal performance, an additional compensator is incorporated to provide a graceful performance degradation despite of input saturation. By regarding the difference of the controller states in the absence and presence of input saturation as an objective function, the dynamic compensator which minimizes it is determined explicitly. The proposed dynamic compensator is the closed form of plant and controller parameters. The proposed method not only provides graceful performance degradation, but it also guarantees the total stability of resulting systems. An illustrative example is provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

영상의 동적영역 확대를 위한 비대칭도 기반 적응적 Retinex 알고리즘 (Skewness based Adaptive Retinex Algorithm for Wide Dynamic Range)

  • 본 논문은 영상 표현의 동적영역 증대를 위한 적응적 Retinex 알고리즘에 대하여 제안한다. 제안 방식은 Retinex 알고리즘을 기반으로 비대칭도를 이용하여 입력 영상에 대한 밝기 정보의 왜곡을 검출하고 왜곡 성분을 국부 통계 특성을 기반으로 적응적으로 처리하였다. 특히 휘도성분에 대하여 새로운 보정함수를 적용시킴으로써 동적영역 확대를 통해 해상도를 개선하였다. 실험을 통해 휘도 성분에 대한 동적 영역 확대 및 색 왜곡 효과를 감소시키는 효과를 확인할 수 있었다.

선형변이 차동변압기 센서의 직선성오차 보정기법 (A Compensation Technique of the Linearity Error of Linear Variable Differential Transformer)

  • This paper presents the characteristics of the dynamic response and calibration technique on a linear variable differential transformer(LVDT). The linear error of the LVDT was proven $\pm$1% in the static calibration and $\pm$0.5% in the dynamic calibration. In this paper, the linearity error generated in the static and dynamic state of the core movement can be eliminated using the correction algorithem of the static and dynamic state derived from the least square linear approximation for the nonlinearity of the curves of direct data fitting and Lagrange polynomials. With the static and dynamic calibration method, the calibration accuracy of the LVDT can be reduced to within $\pm{0.5%.}$.
