보릿짚 시용이 콩의 생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Barley Straw Application on Growth and Yield in Soybean)

  • 맥류후작 콩 재배시 보릿짚의 시용효과를 구명하기 위하여 보릿짚 시용, 제거 및 소각에 따른 토양 이화학성 및 콩의 생육과 수량에 미치는 영향에 대하여 검토하였던 바를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1.보릿짚을 시용한 토양의 유기물함량은 보릿짚 제거 및 소각보다 높았으며 수분을 등 물리성의 개선 효과 있었다. 2. 잡초발생은 보릿짚 제거에 비해 보릿짚 시용에서 44%, 소각에서 31% 억제되었다. 3. 근류수 및 근류 건물중은 보릿짚 시용에서 많았다. 4. 식물체 건물중은 보릿짚 시용에서 지상부는 파종 후 30일경까지는 보릿짚 제거에 비해 적었으나, 그 이후단계는 차이가 없었으며, 지하부는 전 생육기간 동안 보릿집 처리 방법에 따른 차이는 없었다. 5.수량은 보릿짚 처리방법에 따른 유의적인 차이는 없었다.

  • The growth characteristics and yield per unit area of two cropping systems, corn monoculture and 'wrnsoybean intercropping, were compared and the obtained results were as follows; 1.The two cultivation systems were not significantly different in leaf length, leaf width and length of internode at harvesting time. 2.The weight of stalk and the leaves of a plant were decreased with maturity, while the weight of ear was markedly increased. The patterns of relative ratio of each components were essentialy same in each cultivation systems. In corn monoculture, the percentages of stalk, leaf, and ear at final harvesting stage were 22.9, 13.7, and 63.4 and in corn-soybean intercropping, they were 21.8, 10.9, and 67.3 respectively. 3.Dry matter yield per unit area (kg/lOa) of intercropped corn at yellow stage was similar to that of monocultured corn (1, 483 kg/ 10a vs 1, 509 kg/ 10a). At ripe stage, however, the dry matter yield of intercropped plant was more than that of monocultured (1, 679 vs 1, 660 kg/ 10a). 4.The same pattern was observed in organic matter yield.

벼 조기초관폐쇄성의 품종 변이 및 수량과의 관계 (Genotypic Variation of Rapid Canopy Closure and Its Relationship with Yield of Rice)

  • 조기 초관폐쇄성(rapid canopy closure, RCC) 또한 벼의 유전적인 잠재수량성을 향상시킬 수 있는 생리적 특성 중 하나이다. EGV(early growth vigor)가 상이한 22개 품종을 선정하여 EGV와 초관의 조기폐쇄성(RCC)과의 관계, RCC와 생육 및 수량간의 관계를 평가하고자 포장실험(이앙재배)을 실시하였다. 초관이 폐쇄되기 전의 생장은 $y\;=\;{\alpha}{\cdot}{\exp}({\beta}{\cdot}t)$와 같은 지수생장함수로 표현되는데, y는 엽면적지수(LAI) 또는 지상부건물중(DW)이고, t는 적산온도이며, $\alpha$는 지수생장초기의 LAI나 DW 값이고, $\beta$는 지수생장이 일어나는 시기의 LAI 또는 DW의 상대생장률(relative growth rate, RGR; $^{\circ}C^{-1}$)이다. 1. 벼의 지수생장 초기단계에는 품종의 LAI나 DW가 $\alpha$와 높은 정의 상관이 있었고 또한 종자 무게(천립중)와 정의 상관이 있어 종자무게에 의하여 생육이 크게 영향을 받았으며, 그 후의 시기는 품종의 LAI 및 DW가 $\beta$와 높은 상관을 보였다. 2. $\alpha$$\beta$는 모두 품종간에 유의적인 차이가 있었다. 3. $\beta$는 단위면적당 영화수 및 수량과 높은 정의 상관을 보였다. 4. 결론적으로 EGV 및 RCC는 상호 밀접한 관련이 있고, EGV가 크면, RCC도 커서 수량에 정의 방향으로 영향을 하는 것으로 판단되었다.

황색종 담배에서 MH, FA, Flumetralin 및 Butralin의 처리방법이 곁순억제에 미치는 영향 (Effects of MH, FA, Flumetralin and Butralin Applications on Sucker Control of Flue-cured Tobacco)

  • Experiments were conducted to evaluated the sucker control efficiency of several suckercides and their combinations for flue-cured tobacco in Korea. In 1999, Flumetralin(Prime+, P+), Butralin(B), Fatty alcohol(FA, n-decanol 85%), pottasium salt of maleic hydrazide(MH), tank mix of MH with P+ (MH·P+), and another tank mix of MH with FA(MH·FA) were applied after topping, respectively, then sucker number and sucker dry weight were investigated on the 30th and 50th day from treatment. Sucker number and dry weight were significantly lowered by P+, B, FA and MH·P+ applications compared with those of MH and MH·FA for both investigated periods. A significant reduction in sucker number and dry weight was observed in P+, B, and MH·P+ applications. FA treatment was not so much effective in sucker control as P+. In 1999 and 2000, several suckercides and tank mixes of their combinations were applied first at button stage and second after topping, respectively, to compare the effects of sucker control on yield, price index and chemical components of cured leaves. Compared to the standard method of FA 30x at button stage followed by MH40x application after topping(FA 30x + MH 40x), sucker number and dry weight decreased by [FA 30x (or P+ 1%] or [FA 30x(or B 1.5%) + MH 60x·B 1.5%] treatments, even at reduced MH levels. But yield, price index and chemical components of cured leaves were not differed among treatments.

Effect of Planting Density and Nitrogen Level on Growth and Yield in Heavy Panicle Weight Type of Japonica Rice

  • To investigate the effects of planting density and nitrogen level on growth and yield potential of newly bred heavy panicle japonica rice with large grain (Iksan 435 and Iksan 438) or many spikelets per panicle(HR14022-21-8-4 and HR14022-21-8-6), four heavy panicle type rices and two many panicle type rices(Dongjinbyeo and Donganbyeo) as the checks were planted under standard planting density (30$\times$15 cm) and dense planting density (15$\times$15 cm) with two nitrogen levels of standard nitrogen level(110 kg h $a^{-1}$) and heavy nitrogen level(165 kg h $a^{-1}$). Effective tiller rate decreased in dense planting or heavy nitrogen, when compared to standard nitrogen and planting, while leaf area index and to dry weight increased in dense planting or heavy nitrogen. Tiller numbers and panicle numbers were more increased by dense planting than heavy nitrogen, whereas spikelet numbers were more increased by heavy nitrogen than dense planting. Ripened grain ratio was slightly lower only in dense planting. 1,000 grain weight in brown rice was not significantly different in dense planting or heavy nitrogen. Milled rice yield was highest in heavy nitrogen with standard planting for heavy panicle type rice, while yield for many panicle type rice was highest in heavy nitrogen with dense planting, suggesting that many panicle type rice possesses higher adapt-ability for dense planting than heavy panicle type rice. Path coefficient analysis revealed that top dry weight, spikelet number and grain weight were the greatest positive contributors to yield, whereas tiller number was negative to yield.d.

Selection of the Most Sensitive Waveband Reflectance for Normalized Difference Vegetation Index Calculation to Predict Rice Crop Growth and Grain Yield

  • A split-plot designed experiment including four rice varieties and 10 nitrogen levels was conducted in 2003 at the Experimental Farm of Seoul National University, Suwon, Korea. Before heading, hyperspectral canopy reflectance (300-1100nm with 1.55nm step) and nine crop variables such as shoot fresh weight (SFW), leaf area index, leaf dry weight, shoot dry weight, leaf N concentration, shoot N concentration, leaf N density, shoot N density and N nutrition index were measured at 54 and 72 days after transplanting. Grain yield, total number of spikelets, number of filled spikelets and 1000-grain weight were measured at harvest. 14,635 narrow-band NDVIs as combinations of reflectances at wavelength ${\lambda}l\;and\;{\lambda}2$ were correlated to the nine crop variables. One NDVI with the highest correlation coefficient with a given crop variable was selected as the NDVI of the best fit for this crop variable. As expected, models to predict crop variables before heading using the NDVI of the best fit had higher $r^2$ (>10\%)$ than those using common broad- band NDVI red or NDVI green. The models with the narrow-band NDVI of the best fit overcame broad- band NDVI saturation at high LAI values as frequently reported. Models using NDVIs of the best fit at booting showed higher predictive capacity for yield and yield component than models using crop variables.

EFFECT OF DIETARY PROTEIN AND ENERGY LEVELS ON GROWTH AND CARCASS YIELD PERFORMANCES OF SPENT STARCROSS HENS

  • The effect of 16 different dietary rations, computed by the combinations of 13, 16, 19 or 22% CP and 2600, 2800, 3000 or 3100 kcal ME/kg, on growth performances and carcass yield of Starcross layers were assessed in two similar experiments. In both experiments, the body weight, eviscerated carcass yield, edible carcass yield, length of digestive tract and shank length increased but the feed intake decreased linearly with the increase of dietary CP and ME levels. The liver and gizzard weights as percentages of live weight tended to be increased with the increase of dietary CP and ME levels. The carcass dry matter, crude protein, fat, ash and energy content were not influenced by the dietary CP and ME levels. Dietary CP levels had positive correlations with all the parameters (except feed and energy intake and carcass dry matter). However, the dietary ME levels were positively correlated with all the parameters (except feed and energy intake; carcass dry matter and ash) in both experiments. The higher values were noted for all the parameters (except gizzard and carcass fat percentages) studied in Experiment 1 compared to those observed in Experiment 2.

Growth, Nitrogen Metabolism, and Nodulation of Hypernodulating Soybean Mutant Affected by Soil Fertility

  • This study was performed to evaluate the growth and nodulation characters of hypernodulating soy-bean mutant, SS2-2, and to know the growth and yield performance of the mutant in infertile soil. Soil fertility was adjusted by mixing the different ratios of soil components including clay, river sand, and horticultural bed, which resulted in fertile and infertile soil. Dry weight, nitrogen concentration, and leaf nitrate reductase of each plant were measured around V6 stage (47 days after planting) and around R3 stage (82 days after planting). There were significant effects of soil fertility and soybean genotype on the total dry weights including root, nodule, stem, leaf, and pod dry weight at V6 and R3 stages. Total dry weight of hypernodulating mutant, SS2-2, was clearly less than that of its wild type, Sinpaldalkong 2. However, nodule development on the roots of SS2-2 was much greater than that of Sinpaldalkong 2, regardless of soil fertility. Though SS2-2 was smaller in plant size than Sinpaldalkong 2, genotypic difference in total nitrogen content was not significant at both V6 and R3 stages because SS2-2 fixed more nitrogen biologically than its wild type in the root nodule. The SS2-2 mutant showed lower plant yield in both infertile and fertile soil. The SS2-2 contained more crude seed protein than Sinpaldalkong 2, and was characterized with reduced top and root growth.

대맥의 내산성 품종육성을 위한 기초연구 I. 토양산도와 질소시용량이 대맥품종의 생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Soil Acidity and Nitrogen Fertilization on the Growth and Yield of Barley Cultivars)

  • 토양 및 양액의 pH와 질소시용량이 대맥 품종의 생육과 수량에 미치는 영향에 대한 시험결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 양액의 PH가 유묘의 생장에 미치는 영향은 현저하지 않았다. 2. 양액중에 0.6 mM의 Al 처리에 의하여 유묘의 근 및 지상부 생육이 현저히 억제되었는데 두산1002는 거의 생장저해현상이 발생하지 않아 Al에 내성품종으로 나타났다. 3. 엽중의 엽록소함량은 토양 pH의 저하에 따라 감소하였고 질소증가에 따라 엽록소 및 질소함량은 증가하였다. 4. 출수기는 토양 pH의 증가에 따라 1~2일 빨라졌으며 질소증가에 따른 출수기의 변화는 현저하지 않았고 품종에 따라 일정한 경향이 없었다. 5. 간장은 토양 pH의 저하에 따라 현저히 감소하였고 질소증시효과는 현저하지 않았다. 6. 지상부 건물중은 품종에 따라 차이가 있으나 대체로 토양 pH의 감소에 의하여 감소하였고 질소증시에 따라 증가하였다. 7. m$^2$당 수수는 토양 pH가 낮을 때 감소하였는데 그 정도는 새올보리에서 작은 편이었고 질소증시효과는 품종에 따라 다르게 나타났다. 8. 수당립수는 질소증시효과가 별로 나타나지 않았고 pH의 효과는 새올보리, 팔달보리, 강보리 등에서 토양 PH가 낮을수록 감소되었다. 9. 1.000립중은 pH 4.5 수준에서 현저히 감소되었고 질소증시효과는 현저하지 않았다. 10. 수량은 토양 pH가 낮을 때 현저히 감수되었고 생육기의 토양 pH는 모든 공시품종에서 수량과 고도의 유의한 상관을 나타내었으나 질소증시효과는 현저하지 않았으며 토양 pH에 따른 수량의 안정성은 저수품종에서 크고 다수품종에서 작은 것으로 나타났다. 11. 수량은 간장, 건물중, 수당립수 및 1,000립중 등과 고도의 유의상관을 나타내었고, 토양pH에 따른 이들 상관정도의 차이는 현저하지 않았다.

Responses of Mungbean Varieties to Rhizobium Inoculation in respect of Nodulation, Nitrogenase Activity, Dry Matter Yield, and Nitrogen Uptake

  • The responses of six mungbean [Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek] varieties to Rhizobium inoculation on number and dry weight of nodules, nitrogenase activity of root nodule bacteria, dry weight of shoot and root, nitrogen content, and uptake by shoot were investigated. The mungbean varieties were BARI Mung-2, BARI Mung-3, BARI Mung-4, BARI Mung-5, BINA Moog-2, and BU Mung-1. Two-third seeds of each variety were inoculated with Rhizobium inoculant and the remaining one-third seeds were kept uninoculated. Rhizobium strains TAL 169 and TAL 441 were used for inoculation of seeds. Inoculation of seeds with Rhizobium strains significantly increased nodulation, nitrogenases activity, dry matter production, nitrogen content, and uptake by shoot of the crop compared to uninoculated control. There was positive correlation among the number and dry weight of nodules, nitrogenase activity, dry weight of shoot and root, nitrogen content, and uptake by shoot of the crop. It was concluded that BARI Mung-4 in association with Rhizobium strain TAL 169 performed best in recording nodulation, nitrogenase activity, dry matter production, and nitrogen uptake by shoot of mungbean.
