In this study, it can be identified that drawing style of cartoon and fashion illustration are mutually linked and interchanged. The common background of drawing style between cartoon and fashion illustration, is as follows; 1. A means of image communication through mass communication 2. Similarities as visual signs 3. The borderless of painting, illustration and cartoon. 4. Usage of common drawing expressions such as deformation, distortion, exaggeration, metaphor, metonymy. Drawing style interchanging between cartoon and fashion illustration, is as follows; 1. Similar to figure and face are contemporary style, similar figure, Anime style and humourous style. 2. Similar to the way of express is focusing on the line, simplification, mixed computer graphics with hand drawing, artistic expression, the way of multimedia.

study investigated the influences of the forms of verbal external representations and students' verbal learning style in learning chemical concepts with drawing as a method to assist students in connecting and integrating multiple external representations. Seventh graders (N=133) at a coed middle school were assigned to formal drawing (FD) and personalized drawing (PD) groups. Students in the PD group were provided words at personalized style as verbal external representations for drawing, while those in the FD group were provided words at formal style. All students were taught about Boyles Law and Charless Law for two class hours. Results revealed that the scores of a conception test for the PD group were significantly higher than those for the FD group. In a situational interest test, students with strong verbal learning style preference scored significantly higher than students with weak verbal learning style preference in the two groups. Most PD group students were found to prefer to read verbal external representations at personalized style for drawing rather than at formal style, and perceived their activities positively upon cognitive, affective and motivational aspects. Students with strong verbal learning style preference had more positive perceptions about their activities than students with weak verbal learning style preference especially upon affective and motivational aspects.

This study examines the textile pattern design of Italian fashion brands and their brand extensions by comparing their images. Five Italian fashion brands are chosen and the textile pattern design of their brand extensions, which were presented during the eight collection. Then their design style is compared with the design style of their main brands. The five main brands and their brand extensions are as fellows: Anna Molinari-Blumarine, Dolce & Gabbana-D&G, Girogio Armani-Emporio Armani, Gian Franco Ferre'-GFF, and Prada-MiuMiu. Their color, motive type, motive layout, motive expression, and pattern drawing technique are examined and compared. Results suggest that most brand extensions generally use color, motive type motive layout. and motive expression similar to their main brands. In particular, their pattern drawing technique is a painting style white their main brands use a graphic style. This result suggests that to create and develop new brand extensions, Italian fashion (main brand) firms in general employ color, motive type, motive layout, and motive expression technique similar to main brands, but different drawing technique to differentiate from their main brands. The results of this study suggest that textile pattern design plays an important role in developing new brand extensions and thus should be considered as a crucial part of the product.

It can formulate a basic concept to the study on styles of drawing on animation which is influenced by styles of drawing on comic. Especially the transferability of comic and eel animation have high possibility because they have common part as drawing, continuity of imagery and narrative, in spit of the differentiation with comic for spatial and animation for temporal. So the study on comic drawing styles are inevitable check point for investigating it's animation. To analyse of the style of animation drawing, can be employed the styles of comic drawing. For a case study, comic authors and their works is utilized for establishing basic concept of transferring comic to animation with the influence of drawing styles to animation and than it will apply to classify and analyse animation by them. The consequence of this study, it can be sorted in the three areas that are the cheerful comic, the drama, the boy-meets-girl comic. and can be proved that the close relationship of comic and animation. Among three aspects, a boy-meets-girl comic can not be detected in any selected animations. The presumption of this result that can be apply to the general idea which is a rare case to use in animation. Also to use partly cheerful comic to drama style as different drawing styles is for elucidating the effect of intending isolation with the play theory of Bertolt Brecht and empathizing dramatical situation through the disparity of emotion. This study is to investigate on the influence of the drawing style of comics in animation, and can provide the basic ideas of inter-relation of media through drawing styles study with the concept of hybrid.

The objectives of this study are to research into the traditional costume succession in south and north korea, and to compare similarity and difference of kinds, names, drawing of Jegory. Conclusions are described as follows: 1. In sort of Jegory, south and north korea have same kind of Jegory according to traditional form. But in making method, south korea have pursued various style from traditional type to modern type, north korea have maintained just simple and practical basic style. 2. South and north korea have used same or similar names for the basic part of Jegory. But north korea has made new names for constructional needs, so many differences were shown in the name of details. 3. In drawing of Jegory, north korea has hold traditional method and then tried to seek for rational, scientific technique. Also, due to the influence of south korea that advanced in modern aesthetic, drawing of Jegory in north korea were changed to similar.

Students have often experienced difficulties in understanding the concept of the particulate nature of matter despite its importance in chemistry. Although various instructional methods have been suggested for teaching this concept, systematic studies have been rarely conducted. Therefore, this study investigated the effects of drawing and analyzing pictures. Three classes of 7th graders at a coed middle school in Seoul were assigned to the control group, the drawing group, and the analyzing group, respectively. Students were taught about the three states of matter and the motion of molecules for 8 class periods. The instructional effects on student conception, achievement, and science learning motivation were investigated by student visual learning styles. Results revealed that the scores of a conceptions test and a science learning motivation test for both the drawing group and the analyzing group were higher than those for the control group. Additionally, the scores of the science learning motivation test were also found to be higher for students with a more visual learning style than their counterparts.

Non-photorealistic Rendering(NPR) is a method that can be used to simulate a wide range of materials used in visual arts. Currently, there is lack of availability for oriental-style rendering in 3D animation in contrast to the commonly available western-style rendering. In this paper, we combine the wash drawing technique and NPR to create an oriental-style shader for 3D animation. Our approach makes use of the Maya Embeded Language(MEL) to implement this new technique.

This study investigated the influences of small group discussion and students' visual learning style in learning chemical concepts with drawing and writing as methods to assist students in connecting and integrating multiple external representations. Seventh graders (N=449) at a coed middle school were assigned to individual drawing (ID), pair drawing (PD), individual writing (IW), and pair writing (PW) groups. All students learned "Boyle's Law" and "Charles's Law" for two class periods. Analyses of the results revealed that the students in the PD group, regardless of students' visual learning style, scored significantly higher than those in the ID group in a conception test. The scores of the students with strong visual learning preference in the PW group were significantly higher than those in the IW group in the conception test, while the scores of the students with weak visual learning preference were not significantly different between the two groups. Although the conception test scores of the PD group were higher than those of the PW group, the difference was relatively small. It was found that most students in both PD and PW groups perceived pair drawing and pair writing positively upon cognitive and motivational aspects.

In future domestic context aware applications the location of mobile devices is often required. Ultrasonic technology enables high resolution indoor position measurements. A disadvantage of state-of-art ultrasonic systems is that several base stations are required to estimate 3D position. This study aims to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of using UPS as a 3D free-hand writing or drawing tool. The processes include the design and testing of UPS as an efficient 3D free-hand writing or drawing tool in the air. The paper will further explain the system architecture of the UPS and how to use GPS as 3D free-hand writing or drawing tool. The efficiency and effectiveness of the system was confirmed by a computer software simulation. The software will further display the result of drawing or writing from the user by graphics. As a result, it is possible to implement UPS as a 3D free-hand writing or drawing tool in the air.

In this thesis, the Development of Station Buildigs Design during last a hundred years in Korea is analyzed. From the early time to today, several posts of Office of Korean National Railroads have controlled the Station Buildings Design by Standard Drawings. Sometimes, private architects joined in designing the Stations, that have the value as historic architecture. Under the Japanese imperialistic rule, Japanese Officer designed all of the stations ; that can be classified 1) wooden compromise style, 2) renaissance style, 3) northern European house style, 4) general station by standard drawing, 5) Korean house style. 6) modernism style. Especially, Korean house style was not planned to commemorate the old Korean Architecture, but to beguile the Japanese tourists' monotony of the journey in Korea. After the Independence, the Station Buildings are grouped into 1) international style, 2) modernism style with traditional details, 3) Station Complex Buildings. In the future, design of the Railroad Station Building needs to be diversified to satisfy tourists' emotion.
