  • CMOS technology based on PCA is very efficient at an implementation of memory or ALU. However, there has been a growing interest in quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) because of the limitation of CMOS scaling. In this paper, we propose a design of PCA architecture based on QCA. In the proposed PCA design, we utilize D flip-flop and XOR logic gate without wire crossing technique, and design a input and rule control switches. In experiment, we perform the simulation of the proposed PCA architecture by QCADesigner. As the result, we confirm the efficiency the proposed architecture.

  • Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA) is one of the most promising next generation nano-electronic devices which will inherit the throne of CMOS which is the domineering implementation technology of large scale low power digital systems. In late 1990s, the basic operations of the QCA cell were already demonstrated on a hardware implementation. Also, design tools and simulators were developed. Nevertheless, its design technology is not quite ready for ultra large scale designs. This paper proposes a new approach which enables the QCA designs to inherit the verification methodologies and tools of CMOS designs, as well. First, a set of disciplinary rules strictly restrict the cell arrangement not to deviate from the predefined structures but to guarantee the deterministic digital behaviors. After the gate and interconnect structures of the QCA design are identified, the signal integrity requirements including the input path balancing of majority gates, and the prevention of the noise amplification are checked. And then the digital logic is extracted and stored in the OpenAccess common engineering database which provides a connection to a large pool of CMOS design verification tools. Towards validating the proposed approach, we designed a 2-bit QCA adder. The digital logic is extracted, translated into the Verilog net list, and then simulated using a commercial software.

  • Bio-imaging and drug carriers for delivery have created a huge demand for crystals. Crystals are fascinating materials that have been grown for a long time but obtaining biocompatible fluorescent crystals is a challenging task. We report on the growth of fluorescent crystals using a carbon dot (C-dot) solution by a hydrothermal process. The crystallization pattern of these C-dots exhibited a unique dendritic structure having a feather-like morphology. The growth temperature and pressure were maintained at 60℃ and 200 mmHg, respectively, for crystal growth. A green fluorescence (under UV light) that was observed in the C-dot solution was retained in the crystals formed from the solution. Cytotoxicity studies on Vero cells revealed the crystals to be extremely biocompatible. These fluorescent crystals are extremely well suited for biomedical and optoelectronic applications.

  • Flow motion and variation of thermal field around a bubble which attached at the upper cooled solid wall in a $B\dot{e}nard$ convection flow is studied experimentally using thermo-sensitive liquid-crystal tracers and image processing for flow visualization and analysis. The air is injected gradually by $0.1m\ell$ to make the bubble. As the growing of the bubble in a $B\dot{e}nard$ convection flow, the variation of temperature field and surface tension along the bubble, which in turn cause to change the thermal field patterns and the flow direction and patterns. 6 cells flow pattern is transformed into diverse flow pattern. At the large size of a bubble, it's only conduction mechanism under the region of the bubble because of low Ra number 1137, but the convection flow both sides of the bubble leads to another convection flow in the bubble influence area which has been remained stable stagnation.

  • Reading Pen is used mostly in educational purpose, yet its possibility is great as an input device for various IT devices. Reading Pen recognizes tiny dot patterns printed in papers, converts the patterns to corresponding codes, and plays audio contents that match the codes. Recognizing dot patterns and converting to the codes are the main function of Reading Pens, on which we focus and propose a novel algorithm. Such technology is never open to public and this paper is the first open attempt in this area. We test the algorithm and obtain 85% recognition ratio.

  • Diffraction grating is the optical device which has periodic pattern. Decorative logotypes is the one of application of diffraction grating. In this paper diffraction grating for decorative logotype is fabricated by dot pattern in stead of line pattern. A metallic mold for diffraction gratings is fabricated with a mode-locked 12 ps Nd:YVO4 laser. Laser pulses with a wavelength of 355nm are irradiated on the surface of NOK 80, a mold material, to generate dot patterns. In order to minimize the dot diameter, laser power is set just above the ablation threshold of NOK 80. Results show that the spectrum from the fabricated mold is good enough for some industrial application

  • InP quantum dot (QD) - organosilicon nanocomposites were synthesized and their photoluminescence quenching was mainly investigated because of their applicability to white LEDs (light emitting diodes). The as-synthesized InP QDs which were capped with myristic acid (MA) were incompatible with typical silicone encapsulants. Post ligand exchange the MA with a new ligand, 3-aminopropyldimethylsilane (APDMS), resulted in soluble InP QDs bearing Si-H groups on their surface (InP-APDMS) which allow embedding the QDs into vinyl-functionalized silicones through direct chemical bonding, overcoming the phase separation problem. However, the ligand exchange from MA to APDMS caused a significant decrease in the photoluminescent efficiency which is interpreted by ligand induced surface corrosion relying on theoretical calculations. The InP-APDMS QDs were cross-linked by 1,4-divinyltetramethylsilylethane (DVMSE) molecules via hydrosilylation reaction. As the InP-organosilicon nanocomposite grew, its UV-vis absorbance was increased and at the same time, the PL spectrum was red-shifted and, very interestingly, the PL was quenched gradually. Three PL quenching mechanisms are regarded as strong candidates for the PL quenching of the QD nano-composites, namely the scattering effect, Forster resonance energy transfer (FRET) and cross-linker tension preventing the QD's surface relaxation.

  • The strain producing biosurfactant was isolated from soil. The isolated strain was identified as the genus Tsukamurella through its morphological, cultural, physiological, menaquinone type, fatty acid composition characteristics. The highest biosurfactant production by Tsukamurella sp. 26A was observed after 4 days cultivation in the culture medium containing n-hexadecane 7%, $NaNO_{3}$ 0.2%, $K_2HPO_4$ 0.001%, $MgSO_{4}$ center dot $7H_{2}O$ 0.02%, $CaCl_2$ center dot $2H_{2}O$ 0.02%, yeast extract 0.02%(pH 6.8-7.0, 30^{\circ}C.$ The surface and interfacial tension of an aqueous solution reached 30 mNim and 1.5 mNim, respectively. The biosurfactant stabilized oil-in-water emulsion with a variety of hydrocarbons, edible oils and petroleum oils.

  • The test of stereoacuity provides relatively accurate assessment of binocular functior. in the clinical fields. The purpose of this study was to investigate performance on the Random-dot E(RDE) stereotest under the binocular conditions by the difference of the illumination and test distance. The more light illumination increase. The more pass of RDE stereotest increase. On the other hand. On the near distance of test target. All subjects have a pass toe RDE stereatest. But On the far distance of test target. Some subjects have a pass the RDE stereatest. According to the test distance. The more far distance of test target. the less subjects have a pass the RDE stereotest. As a results, The RDE stereotest have effected the test distance and illumination.
