  • Definition of health education can be various depending on historical background and individual point of view. In the industrialized era when health promotion is given a high priority in health activities, health education could be defined as a combination of planned learning experiences and social actions, which expand health knowledge and experiences of individuals and communities in order to meet their health needs, change harmful health behaviors to be desirable for health promotion and motivate them to do that. To realize the proposed definition of health education, health education should develop new policies in harmony with health promotion, facilitate the development of human resources, reflect the modern educational technology, strengthen multisectoral approach, and pay more attention to monitoring and evaluation. To fulfill the above mentioned role, health education approach should shift foci from diseases to health orientation, from individualistic health behavior modification to a systematic change of the general public, from medical domination to recognition of lay competence and from authoritarian health education to supportive health education.

  • The objective of the present study was trying to explain the phenomenon of the character fashion using famous character of America and Japan as a cultural dependency of mass culture in Korea. Today, the cultural situation of the Korean society was influenced much from foreign countries, especially America and Japan in every culture. It means the penetration of foreign cultures, the cultural domination of them and it could be explained by the cultural imperialism approach and the cultural imperialism approach presented the theoretical framework of cultural dependency of mass culture. In this viewpoint, I emphasized the influence of the motives used character fashion as an important phenomenon to analyize the cultural situation of Korea.

  • Creative design acquires value-added quality in fashion business. The anti-aesthetic Belgian designers who have been rebelling within strict rules are admired internationally, having reached the top-ten lists in the Journal do Textile in the 1990s. Moreover, they have set the trend in new progressive fashion. In the age of domination by marketing, these people have succeeded in, their integrity, their free spirits, and their passion for what they do. The interaction between their creativity, which is visible throughout their design process, and commercial interests is the key to the success of Belgian fashion. It is also noteworthy that the designing process is strongly linked together with flexible coordination. This analysis on the creativity of Belgian fashion design based on theoretical studies and interviews with Belgian designers from magazines and newspapers. The research includes the following main topics: 1. Analysis on the creativity of designing process. 2. Analysis on characteristics of Belgian fashion design.

  • Activated carbons were obtained by activating wild cherry stones with different concentrations of phosphoric acid or zinc chloride at different temperatures. The adsorption of $N_2$ at 77 K and of $CO_2$ at 273 K was followed and the data were analyzes by considering different adsorption models. The activated carbons obtained measured high surface area with the most of the surface in all samples located in micropores. Fair agreement was found between the nitrogen surface areas calculated from the BET-, t-, ${\alpha}$- and DR- methods, although the first three are based on surface coverage whereas the latter is based on micropore filling. The carbon dioxide surface areas calculated by the DA equation were smaller than the comparable nitrogen areas. This was ascribed to domination of surface coverage mechanism, the absence of activated diffusion process. Based on this explanation the $CO_2$-surface areas as calculated by DA equation should be taken with great reservation.

  • Oridinal thermal spray process has developed into two ways, namely, temperature dominated represented by plasma spraying, and velocity dominated represented by HVOF. It is common for both that the particle materials sprayed are basically in melted or half melted condition. New process has developed recently, that is, Cold Spray and Aerosol Deposition. Particle's heating is limited in CS lower than half of the material's melting point. Moreover, exactly no heating is loaded in AD process. Through the investigation on common feature for these three spraying processes, potential of new material process - Particle Deposition, PD - is considered and proposed.

  • The Internet is evolving into a fundamental social infrastructure, similar to electricity and water. In particular, the role of the Internet is becoming more critical as the global digital transformation infrastructure of the 4th industrial revolution. Based on this trend, we note that the Internet is monopolized by a few large organizations even though it was originally designed as a purely distributed system. In this paper, we have reviewed the domination trends, especially in terms of data consolidation. In addition, we have summarized the corresponding research activities from the Internet Society, EU Horizon-2020, and Decentralized web. Further, this paper proposes an approach to address the data consolidation issue from the Korean perspective.

  • In David Henry Hwang's M. Butterfly and Shirley Lim's Joss and Gold, two Asian-American texts exploring the relationship between America and Asia, the classic Orientalist motif of the infinitely submissive oriental female is reworked to articulate an Asian response to American hegemony. Both works mobilize the Asian female as a figure of contestation to destabilize and reconceptualize the patriarchal and Orientalist strategies of Western cultural and political domination. This paper explores the tactically different though strategically similar counter-discursive moves adopted in the two works to suggest a broader cultural realignment in Asian-American relations.

  • This paper closely examines the textual representations of 'blackness' in Korean military camptown (gijichon) literature from 1950's to 1980's, and argues that the animalistic portrayals and almost compulsive bestialization of blacks reveal an attempted hierarchization of Koreans above blacks with an underlying belief in white supremacy in coming to terms with Korean postcolonial subjectivity. Going against the grain of nationalist readings of gijichon literature, which largely celebrate its resistance against US domination, this paper problematizes racialized postcoloniality emerging out of these stories that span over four decades. The paper demonstrates that the racist depictions of blacks as the Other and even sympathetic portrayals of black soldiers all work to legitimate white supremacy and hierarchize race in the formation of Korean postcolonial subjectivity, paradoxically reinforcing and perpetuating colonial racial ideologies.

  • "Behind a Mask" (1866) marks the new direction of Louisa May Alcott's artistic and personal life. Her European trip solidified her identity as a mature woman, most importantly as a mature American woman, one whose independence from Victorian stereotypes would, from now on, make her fortune and fame. Her sensational stories, especially "Behind a Mask," would tell truths that readers recognized but had rarely seen written. These truths would free them, and the author herself, to explore their talents as individuals. Henceforth, Alcott would embody the successful American artistic entrepreneur as one who shed the European domination of false titles and inherited wealth. These motifs of the transnational connection pervade the story, in the form of images and likenesses. Just as Alcott would soon, in two years, reach astonishing financial success with the publication of Little Women, her meteoric ascent parallels America's rise to power in the world's economy, which came about with almost alarming speed after the conclusion of the American Civil War.

  • On the website r/NYYankees, a sub-forum ("subreddit") of Reddit is devoted to the Major League Baseball team New York Yankees, with its predominantly male users showing their appreciation for baseball heroes by expressing erotic desires towards the players. When a player performs well, the subreddit is filled with admiration of desires to become the player's intimate lover-explicitly expressed by "male" fans. This paper explains the phenomenon of young male fans' desire for the now-lost model of traditional masculinity of domination and control, displayed in the context of baseball players' dominant performances. The discrepancy between a fan's non-homosexual real-world self and his homoerotic language on the subreddit is explained using the "performative fandom" theory, developed by Osborne and Coombs borrowing Butler's notion of performativity. This paper suggests how this desire for traditional masculinity serves as recognition to the collapse of masculinity in the modern American society.
