  • Progressive mesh representation and generation have become one of the most important issues in network-based computer graphics. However, current researches are mostly focused on triangular mesh models. On the other hand, solid models are widely used in industry and are applied to advanced applications such as product design and virtual assembly. Moreover, as the demand to share and transmit these solid models over the network is emerging, the generation and the transmission of progressive solid models depending on specific engineering needs and purpose are essential. In this paper, we present a Cellular Topology-based approach to generating and transmitting progressive solid models from a feature-based solid model for internet-based design and collaboration. The proposed approach introduces a new scheme for storing and transmitting solid models over the network. The Cellular Topology (CT) approach makes it possible to effectively generate progressive solid models and to efficiently transmit the models over the network with compact model size.

  • The railway characteristic, which is concerned, as most utilities is unbalance produced by the large single-phase loads. Here are two theoretical concerns associated with unbalanced loads. First, generator rotor heating resulting from unbalanced current flow, Second, there is the possibility of motor overheating in industrial plants, due to the unbalanced voltage. Therefore, the exact assessment of the voltage unbalance must be carried out preferentially as well as load forecast at stages of designing and planning for the electric railway system. This paper proposes a new analysis model to more effectively estimate voltage unbalance. Numerous distributed circuits in the electric railway system are composed by components. The entire system can be easily modeled by the combination of four-port representation of each component in parallel and/or series. Simulation results using the model are compared with field data, and it verifies the accuracy of the proposed model.

  • Consumers exposed to aesthetic brands can not only experience sensory pleasure but also lead to strong customer loyalty. Furthermore, aesthetic brands can expect to lead to the overall experience of the brand. They include the brand's sensory, emotional, behavioral and intellectual experience. Since aesthetic brands related to the sensory representation of customers, consumers exposed to aesthetic brands can expect to have a meaningful impact on the overall experience of the brand. The study will select aesthetic brands that distributed in Korea and then compare the aesthetic characteristics of each brand. It also seeks to verify the brand attractiveness, consistency, prominence and influence of brand motifs on the brand's sensual, emotional, behavioral and intellectual experience. To verify the influence between variables proposed in this study, we would like to conduct a multiple regression analysis. SAS 9.4 used to verify the hypotheses proposed in this study. Cronbach's α measure to verify reliability of each measurement item. In particular, brand attractiveness and brand motif can verify empirically to confirm that they play an important role in inducing brand experience.

  • A systematic mosquito taxonomic study in Korea was established by Lee in 1971. Since then, many species have been recorded as new to Korea. However, much of this taxonomic information has been distributed in a number of scientific publications. This fork attempts to combine this information into a single document, as well as to synthesize revised taxonomic synonyms of species cccurring in Korea. Four species, Culex vora.x, Culex kangi, Aedes kobayashii and Culiseta kanayamensis listed in our previous paper, are synonyms of Culex kalifaxii, Cutex jackseni, Aedes alehtorowi and Culiseta bergrothi, respectively. Culex annulus is a misidentified species of Culex pseudovishnui. The subspecies Cutes pipiens quinquefassiatus and subgenus Manscnia (Ccquillettidia) were treated as full species and genus respectively in a catalog of the mosquitoes of the world. However, not all current authors agree to those specific and generic treatment. Based on available publications the total number of mosquito species recorded in Korea is now 52 representing 9 genera. Forty-five of these 52 are confirmed species with preserved specimen representation. As collection of specimen continues, there is a possibility that representative of 7 unconfirmed species will be found. 1 hope this paper will provide useful information for entomology workers who are interested in mosquito taxonomy in Korea.

  • Cutting forces and tool deflection in end milling are represented as the closed form of tool rotational angle and cutting conditions. The discrete cutting forces caused by tool entry and exit are continued using the Fourier series expansion. Tool deflection is predicted by direct integration of the distributed loads on cutting edges. Cutting conditions, tool geometry, run-outs and the stiffness of tool clamping pan are considered for cutting forces and tool deflection estimation. Compared to numerical methods, the presented method has advantages in short prediction time and the effects of feeding and run-outs on cutting forces and tool deflection can be analyzed quantitatively. This research can be effectively used in real time machining error estimation and cutting condition selection for error minimization since the ferm accuracy is easily predicted by tool deflect ion curve.

  • With the proliferation of the Android malicious applications, malware becomes more capable of hiding or confusing its malicious intent through the use of code obfuscation, which has significantly weaken the effectiveness of the conventional defense mechanisms. Therefore, in order to effectively detect unknown malicious applications on the Android platform, we propose DroidVecDeep, an Android malware detection method using deep learning technique. First, we extract various features and rank them using Mean Decrease Impurity. Second, we transform the features into compact vectors based on word2vec. Finally, we train the classifier based on deep learning model. A comprehensive experimental study on a real sample collection was performed to compare various malware detection approaches. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms other Android malware detection techniques.

  • Genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS) has been used as a viable single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) validation method that provides reduced representation sequencing by using restriction endonucleases. Although GBS makes it possible to perform marker discovery and genotyping simultaneously with reasonable costs and a simple molecular biology workflow, the standard TASSEL-GBS pipeline was designed for homozygous groups, and genotyping of heterozygous groups is more complicated. To addresses this problem, we developed a GBS pipeline for heterozygous groups that called KNU-GBS pipeline, specifically for apple (Malus domestica). Using KNU-GBS pipeline, we constructed a genetic linkage map consisting of 1,053 SNP markers distributed over 17 linkage groups encompassing a total of 1350.1 cM. The novel GBS pipeline for heterozygous groups will be useful for marker-assisted breeding programs, and diverse heterozygous genome analyses.

  • Query applications based on nested data, the most commonly used form of data representation on the web, especially precise query, is becoming more extensively used. MapReduce, a distributed architecture with parallel computing power, provides a good solution for big data processing. However, in practical application, query requests are usually concurrent, which causes bottlenecks in server processing. To solve this problem, this paper first combines a column storage structure and an inverted index to build index for nested data on MapReduce. On this basis, this paper puts forward an optimization strategy which combines query execution service tree and frequent sub-query trajectory to reduce the response time of frequent queries and further improve the efficiency of multi-user concurrent queries on large scale nested data. Experiments show that this method greatly improves the efficiency of nested data query.

  • This paper is concerned with the disturbances in a transversely isotropic new modified couple stress homogeneous thermoelastic rotating medium under the combined influence of Hall currents, magnetic fields, and mechanical sources represented by inclined loads. The application of Laplace and Fourier transform techniques are used for the derivation of analytical expressions for various physical quantities. As an application, the bounding surface is subjected to uniformly and linearly distributed force (mechanical force). Present model contains length scale parameters that can capture the size effects. Numerical inversion techniques has been used to provide insights into the system's behavior in the physical domain. The graphical representation of numerical simulated results has been presented to emphasize the impact of rotation and inclined line loads on the system, enhancing our understanding of the studied phenomena. Further research can extend this study to investigate additional complexities and real-world applications.

  • This research deals with the study of two-dimensional deformation in transversely isotropic thermoelastic diffusion medium. This investigation integrates the effect of diffusion and thermal effects in transversely isotropic thermoelastic solids under inclined load. Inclined load is taken as linear combination of normal load and tangential load. Laplace and Fourier transformation techniques are employed to transform the physical domain and then transformed solutions are inverted with the aid of numerical inversion techniques. Concentrated and distributed load are considered to exemplify its utility. Graphical representation of variation in displacement, stresses, temperature and concentration distribution with distance is depicted by taking inclination at different angles. Some particular cases are studied.
