분산제어되는 셀룰라 시스템에서 SIR기반 빔 스위칭 기법 (SIR based Beam Switching in Distributed Controlled Cellular Systems)

  • 본 논문은 분산 제어되는 셀룰라 시스템에서 셀간 간섭을 제어하기 위하여 SIR 기반 빔스위칭을 제안한다. 셀의 빔스위칭 패턴을 랜덤하게 결정하여 인접셀간 빔충돌을 피할 수 없는 기존의 랜덤 빔스위칭과 달리 SIR 기반 빔스위칭은 단말로부터 보고되는 SIR 추정값에 기반하여 셀의 빔스위칭 패턴을 업데이트한다. 인접셀들은 각각 독립적으로 자신의 빔 스위칭 패턴을 업데이트하며 인접셀간 빔의 충돌을 회피하는 빔스위칭 패턴으로 수렴해 간다. 본 논문은 두 인접한 셀 모델을 사용하여 SIR기반 빔스위칭이 랜덤 빔스위칭에 비해 약 20%의 성능 이득이 있음을 보인다.

  • A grid-connected distributed generation system which consists of engine generator, dc link with multiple energy sources and inverter is proposed. All six of the stator leads of the generator, which is a surface mount permanent magnet machine, are brought out to the terminal of the generator. Three leads are connected to the inverter and the others are connected to the utility grid. In this proposed system the power from the engine-generator and the power from dc link can be controlled simultaneously by only one three-phase power converter. A control algorithm for the system is developed and verified by experiment results.

  • An efficient management of product information is critical to the enhancement of corporate competitiveness. Product information is often distributed in term of organization, geography, and time. With the rapid increase in the use of Internet or its associated Web and intranets, it has been accelerating to integrate the distributed information. In this research, a Distributed, Open, Intelligent Product data Management system, namely DOI-PDM, is developed. This system deals with product information following the STEP standard, and its operation is controlled by a Web-based workflow management system. CORBA is employed to ensure interoperability among distributed objects. It is intended to achieve openness by using various standards, such s STEP, KQML, SGML, and WfMC specifications. One major difficulty in managing it needs also be properly modified according to the dynamics. It however is very hard to have a prior anticipation to the dynamics. It however is very hard to have a prior anticipation to the modification requirements in practice. We introduce a process adaptation model and a use of intelligent agent technology. An agent is delegated to modify process definitions during run-time. A method of agent implementation and a proper communication scheme among te agents are proposed. Also developed in this research is a STEP-based content search system which can co-work with the agents by providing relevant product information that the agents require.

온라인 선로상정사고 분산처리를 위한 SIMD 구조의 PC 클러스터링 (The PC Clustering of the SIMD Structure for a Distributed Process of On-line Contingency)

  • This paper introduces the PC clustering of the SIMD structure for a distributed processing of on-line contingency to assess a static security of a power system. To execute on-line contingency analysis of a large-scale power system, we need to use high-speed execution device. Therefore, we constructed PC-cluster system using PC clustering method of the SIMD structure and applied to a power system, which relatively shows high quality on the high-speed execution and has a low price. SIMD(single instruction stream, multiple data stream) is a structure that processes are controlled by one signal. The PC cluster system is consisting of 8 PCs. Each PC employs the 2 GHz Pentium 4 CPU and is connected with the others through ethernet switch based fast ethernet. Also, we consider N-1 line contingency that have high potentiality of occurrence realistically. We propose the distributed process algorithm of the SIMD structure for reducing too much execution time on the on-line N-1 line contingency analysis in the large-scale power system. And we have verified a usefulness of the proposed algorithm and the constructed PC cluster system through IEEE 39 and 118 bus system.

Seismic response control of irregular asymmetric structure with voided slabs by distributed tuned rotary mass damper devices

  • This study focuses on demonstrating the effectiveness of vibration control of tuned rotary mass damper (TRMD) for reducing the bidirectional and torsional response of the irregular asymmetric structure with voided slabs under earthquake excitations. The TRMD arranged in plane of one-story eccentric structure is proposed as a distributed tuned rotary mass damper (DTRMD) system. Lagrange's equation is used to derive the equations of motion of the controlled system. The optimum position and number of TRMD are numerically investigated under harmonic excitation and the control effects of different distributions are discussed. Furthermore, a shaking table test is conducted under different excitation cases, including free vibration, forced vibration and seismic wave to investigate the absorption performance of the device. The numerical simulations of different distributions of the TRMDs show that the DTRMDs are more effective in reduction of the displacement response of the asymmetric structure under the same mass ratio, even when the degree of eccentricity becomes large. However, with small degree of eccentricity, the unreasonable asymmetrical arrangement may cause the increase of the peak value of the rotational angular displacement. Finally, the experimental investigations exhibit similar results of translational displacement of the structure. It is concluded that the vibration of the irregular asymmetric structure can be controlled more economically and effectively by reducing the mass ratio through reducing the quantity of TRMDs at the high stiffness end.

  • Technology has been viewed at various stages of civilization as leading to future progress. The building, its services systems and management of the work process all contribute to the well-being of people within an organization. Productivity relies on there being a general sense of high morale and satisfaction with the workplace. Now buildings are considered as providing a milieu for human creativity. Flexibility, adaptability, service integration and high standards of finishes offer an intelligence threshold. Building Automation System(BAS) - controlled lighting systems may offer incremental energy saving. Conventional Lighting control systems often control equipment in a single room or over the limited area, because they are centralized control systems, which means that all the controlled circuits must be wired to a single control panel. The computers used by these systems are typically dedicated microprocess that perform only lighting control functions. By comparison, modern Building automation systems are distributed control system, which means that their computing hardware and software are distributed as a network that microprocessor-based control modules and standard PC. PLC(Programmable Logic controller) is extensible virtually without limits, so that all the lighting in a facility can be controlled by single, unified system - the same system that also can control and monitor the building's HVAC, security, and manufacturing processed, elevators, and more. A Building automation system can control light using schedules, manual controls, occupancy sensors, and photosensors, either singly or in combination. Building Lighting control and monitoring system will be for a energy saving and efficient building management system.

  • The Remote controlled air conditioner is to effectively suppress the peak load generated from air conditioners in summer. It is important that remote controlled air conditioners are operated well in the real field. Almost 3,200 remote controlled air conditioners has been distributed as of the end of June, 2001. This paper describes a development of the certification system for the air conditioners.

Evaluation of a FPGA controlled distributed PV system under partial shading condition

  • This study designs and tests a photovoltaic system with distributed maximum power point tracking (DMPPT) methodology using a field programmable gate array (FPGA) controller. Each solar panel in the distributed PV system is equipped with a newly designed DC/DC converter and the panel's voltage output is regulated by a FPGA controller using PI control. Power from each solar panel on the system is optimized by another controller where the quadratic maximization MPPT algorithm is used to ensure the panel's output power is always maximized. Experiments are carried out at atmospheric insolation with partial shading conditions using 4 amorphous silicon thin film solar panels of 2 different grades fabricated by Chi-Mei Energy. It is found that distributed MPPT requires only 100ms to find the maximum power point of the system. Compared with the traditional centralized PV (CPV) system, the distributed PV (DPV) system harvests more than 4% of solar energy in atmospheric weather condition, and 22% in average under 19% partial shading of one solar panel in the system. Test results for a 1.84 kW rated system composed by 8 poly-Si PV panels using another DC/DC converter design also confirm that the proposed system can be easily implemented into a larger PV power system. Additionally, the use of NI sbRIO-9642 FPGA-based controller is capable of controlling over 16 sets of PV modules, and a number of controllers can cooperate via the network if needed.

  • 인터넷상에서 멀티미디어 서비스와 스트림 서비스 기대가 증가함에 따라 이를 지원하기 위한 애플리케이션 개발을 많이 요구하게 되었다. 그러나, 기존에 제시된 모델들은 QoS에 관련된 분산 응용 서비스들이 중앙 제어 형태의 통합 모델로 개발됨에 따라 확장이나 재사용을 지원할 수 없는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 이를 해결하기 위하여 객체지향 미들웨어인 CORBA 상에서 분산 QoS 관리 시스템을 제시하였다. 이는 기존 QoS 제어에서 실시간 협약과 동적 적응 기능뿐만 아니라, 효과적인 QoS 제어 기능도 제공하고 있다. 본 시스템은 QoS의 제어와 관리를 분산된 형태의 시스템으로 설계하였으며, 클라이언트 측에 QoS 제어 관리 모듈(QoS CMM), 서버 측에는 QoS 관리 모듈(QoS MM)을 객체 형태로 각각 구성하였다. 이러한 분산 모듈들은 분산 스트리밍 애플리케이션을 지원하는 동안 분산 QoS 관리를 위해 서로 다른 시스템 상에서 CORBA를 통하여 서로 상호작용 한다. 시스템 설계 단계에서, 스트림 서비스의 QoS 제어를 위해 세부적인 기능과 메소드 호출, 각 모듈의 컴포넌트를 설계하기 위해 UML을 사용했다. 제안된 시스템을 구현하기 위해서 Solaris 2.5/2.7에 CORBA 표준을 따르는 OrbixWeb 3.1c, Java 언어, Java Media Framework API 2.0, Mini-SQL 1.0.16과 SunVideoPlus/SunVideo Capture 보드, Sun Camera와 같은 멀티미디어 장치들을 이용하였다. 마지막으로, 분산 QoS 관리 시스템이 스트림 서비스를 실행하는 동안, 동적으로 클라이언트와 서버 상에서 GUI의 QoS 맵 정보를 근거로, 실시간적으로 협약 및 적응하는 과정을 수치 데이터로 보였다.

Generating Chaos from Discrete TS Fuzzy System

  • In this paper, a simple and systematic control design method is proposed for a discrete-time Takagi-Sugeno(TS) fuzzy system, which employs the parallel distributed compensation(PDC) to determine the structure of a fuzzy controller so as to mark all the Lyaunov exponents of the controlled TS fuzzy system strictly positive. This approach is proven to be mathematically rigorous for anticontrol of chaos for a TS fuzzy system in the sense that any given discrete-time TS fuzzy system can be made chaotic by the designed PDC controller along with the-operation. A numerical example is included to visualize the anticontrol effect.
