  • This paper presents a method of designing the control loop for dc-to-dc converters when at characteristics of the converter's load are unknown. In the proposed method, a converter is considered as a stand-alone module that feeds a current sink load, and the control loop is designed in order to maximize the robustness of the converter's closed-loop performance. The proposed method yields a control design that provides predictable and controllable closed-loop performance for the converter loaded with an actual load.

  • Collaborative product commerce (CPC) supports a collaboration that a global enterprise and customer related to lift cycle of product share product information and a collaboration process for the collaboration, and integrating applications. In this paper, we use common data schema in order to solve a interoperability problem about shared product information between enterprises. And we map to common data schema from each other different data format. Therefore we implement CPC Adaptor in order to integrate distributed product information.

  • The availability equivalence factors of a general repairable series-parallel system is discussed in this paper based on the availability function of the system. The system components are assumed to be repairable and independent but not identical. The life and repair times of the system components are exponentially distributed with different parameters. Two types of availability equivalent factors of the system are derived. The results derived in this paper generalizes those given in the literature. A case study is introduced to illustrate how the idea of this work can be applied.

  • In this paper, high-speed Hybrid MAC (Medium Access Control layer) implementation suitable for smart grid applications is researched. MB-OFDM (Multi-Band Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is considered for high-speed communication method in smart grid application. In this paper, the MAC adopts the distributed network managing method. Also, the MB-OFDM merit of high-speed transfer rate of up to 480Mbps must be supported. Hence, this paper presents an efficient hardware-software integration (co-design) method in order to realize a high- speed transmission, and a realizing method of distribution network. Finally, MAC performance and reliability based on MB-OFDM PHY (PHYsical layer) are confirmed through simulation and emulation.

  • There is an expression of the five colors(also called the Ohsaek) in Yeongchu. The Ohsaek explains that internal organs and joints are distributed on a face and you can see the major symptoms of internal organs and the whole body by observing complexion. However, the text is not easy to understand as it has many unfamiliar terms. Interpreting the text in terms of perception psychology, I intend to make it helpful in clinical applications.

  • The vehicle has lots of embedded systems. Each of systems has its own role. In case of the vehicle, simple failure of system can be critical to driver. Therefore all of embedded system should be managed based on importance factors to be effective. In this paper, we consider the resilience as the importance factor for the driving system with ACC(Adaptive Cruise Control). We propose metrics to calculate the resilience of the embedded system. To get the resilience of system, we calculate the reliability and the resilience of nodes in the system using its failure rate. The resilience of whole system can be presented by the resilience of nodes and its weight. We calculate the resilience and compare the centralized structure and the distributed structure.

  • Cyber-Physical Systems(CPS) that mostly provides safety-critical and mission-critical services requires high reliability, so that system testing is an essential and important process. Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation(HILS) is one of the extensively used techniques for testing hardware systems. However, most conventional HILS has problems that it is difficult to support a distributed operating environment and to reuse a HILS platform. In this paper, we introduce EcoHILS(ETRI CPS Open Human-Interactive hardware-in-the-Loop Simulator) in order to test CPS effectively. Moreover, feasibility tests and performance tests of EcoHILS are performed to confirm its effectiveness.

  • Group communication is becoming increasingly popular in Internet applications such as videoconferences, online chatting programs, games, and gambling. For secure communications, the integrity of messages, member authentication, and confidentiality must be provided among group members. To maintain message integrity, all group members use the Group Key (GK) for encrypting and decrypting messages while providing enough security to protect against passive attacks. Tree-based Group Diffie-Hellman (TGDH) is an efficient group key agreement protocol to generate the GK. TGDH assumes all members have an equal computing power. One of the characteristics of distributed computing and grid environments is heterogeneity; the member can be at a workstation, a laptop or even a mobile computer. Member reordering in the TDGH protocol could potentially lead to an improved protocol; such reordering should capture the heterogeneity of the network as well as latency. This research investigates dynamic reordering mechanisms to consider not only the overhead involved but also the scalability of the proposed protocol.

  • A simple construction, low cost, and a fault tolerant power electronic drive have made the switched reluctance drive a strong contender for many applications. But the switched reluctance drive exhibits higher levels of vibration and acoustic noise than most competing drives. The main source of vibration in the switched reluctance drive is generated by the rapid change of radial magnetic force when the phase current is extinguished during commutation. In this paper, some excitation methods are proposed to reduce the vibration and acoustic noise of the switched reluctance drive. The excitation strategies considered in this research are 1-phase, 2-phase and hybrid excitation methods. The 1-phase method is the conventional approach, while in the 2-phase method, the two phases are excited simultaneously. The hybrid excitation has 2-phase excitation using a long dwell angle as well as conventional 1-phase excitation. The vibration and acoustic noise are compared and tested. The suggested 2-phase and hybrid strategies reduce acoustic noise because the schemes reduce the abrupt change in excitation level by using distributed and balanced excitation.
