  • Objectives: The purpose of this research is to identify and understand sexuality in 10th grade co-ed students in Seoul, Korea in order to construct practical curriculum for sex education for youth. Method: One-hour class per week was done to the 3 classes among 6 classes for Spring semester in 1999: small group discussion(for 3 classes) & questionnaires(6 classes) were taken. Results: Despite the increased number of sex education programs, peers apparently remain the major source of information and the counselor of their sexual problems. The rate of correct answer of the sex knowledge is still low, especially on biological aspects of opposite sex. Western culture and women's movements have changed our society. In turn, sexual sterotypes and roles have been changing. Small group discussions were taken after the classes of pregnancy, abortion and unmarried parents. Their opinions on maintaining virginity were collected. The condition of choosing spouse and boy/girl friend is quite different in many aspects.

  • This paper persents the crack control of mass concrete in massive machine foundation. The dimension of the machine foundation is 52.6m$\times$14.4m$\times$8.5m. The one distinctive characteristic of mass concrete is thermal behavior. Since the cement-water reaction is exothermic by nature, the temperature rises inside the massive concrete structure. When the heat is not quickly dissipated, it can be quite high. Significant tensile stresses may develop from the volume change associated with the increase of decrease of temperature within the mass concrete structure. To avoid occurrence of harmful cracks due to hydration heat, special attention shall be given to the construction of mass cnocrete structures. The temperature control system of mass concrete is proposed in this paper. This system contains a discussion of materials and concrete mix proportioning, thermal analysis, curing method, temperature control, and measurement of hydration heat. As will be seen throughout the paper, the proposed temperature control system have a great effect on the temperature-related cracks on mass concrete structures.

  • Insurance companies are in a fierce race to catch a new customer. In this situation. sales force automation technologies are often used to support customer relationship management strategies. This study sets out a research model predicting SFA(Sales Force Automation) usage through theoretical studies. Survey data were collected from 145 salespeople across 2 firms that had implemented sales force automation tools and hypotheses were tested empirically. Data were analyzed by path-analysis method of AMOS. The major findings of this study are as follows: Computer self-efficacy, user involvement and voluntariness have a statistically significant influence on the positive perceptions of SFA. These perceptions have a statistically significant influence on user satisfaction and usage of SFA. while user satisfaction has a statistically significant influence on SFA usage. This paper concludes with the discussion of these results and their implications for academic researchers and insurance company managers.

  • Objectives: This study is to gain an understanding of the characteristics of suicides committed by university students in Korea by assessing news reports. Methods: A total of 97 news reports on university student suicides on daily newspapers and TV newscasts from 2000 to 2011 are included in this study. Analyses were performed on sociodemographic characteristics of suicided university students and temporal and other characteristics of the suicides. Results: Suicide rate was higher among males than females. The most frequently used method of suicide was jumping off while the most common place was the students’ residence. Issues related to academic and financial problems topped as the reasons for suicide. There were no differences in the reasons for committing suicide by school year and enrollment, but the location and season of committing suicide differed by reasons for suicide. Conclusions: Implication of this study, discussion on the results and suggestions for suicide prevention are discussed.

  • The new recycling technology for aged Aluminum wires in overhead conductor have been carried out. We are attempting to develop remanufacturing method for them for more effective way of recycling in stead of its conventional remelting process. The weld of aged aluminum wires play a vital role in remanufacture process. The paper investigates the mechanical properties during cold welding process of aged Aluminum wire. The tensile tests and microscopic analysis results are discussed to underscore the hardening features of welded aluminum wire. Various graphs are presented accompanied by discussion about their relevance on the process.

  • This work is concerned with the motion of propeller driven airplanes, flying at constant velocity on ascending or descending rectilinear trajectories. Its purpose is to provide important features of rectilinear flights that are required for airplane trajectory planning but that cannot be found already published. It presents a method for calculating the amount of fuel used, the restrictions on the trajectory parameters, as inclination and speed, which result from the load factor, the lift coefficient, the positivity and upper boundedness of the power available. It presents a complete discussion of both ascending and descending flights, including gliding. Some original remarks are made about the parameters of gliding. It shows how to construct tables of parameters allowing to identify rapidly flyable trajectories. Sample calculations are shown for the Cessna 182 and a Silver Fox like unmanned aerial vehicle.

  • This paper is concerned about the hydrodynamic coefficients of hydrofoil. We discretized the incompressible Navier-Stokes equation with second order Runge-kutta for the time in the second order compact scheme for the spatial. The three-dimensional CFD code based on hybrid mesh on the finite volume method is used to simulate flow around NACA series foils. Lift and drag coefficient is calculated for several NACA series foils using different mesh types. Our aim is to obtain the lift and drag coefficient to evaluate the robustness of the solver and to shaw the advantage of using trim tab at the trailing edge. It concludes with a discussion of results and recommendations for future work.

  • The conditional moment closure(CMC) model has been implemented in context with the unstructured-grid finite-volume method which efficiently handle the physically and geometrically complex turbulent reacting flows. The validation cases include a turbulent nonpremixed CO/$H_2$/$N_2$ Jet flame and a turbulent nonpremixed $H_2$/CO flame stabilized on an axisymmetric bluff-body burner. In terms of mean flame field, minor species and NO formation, numerical results has the overall agreement with expermental data. The detailed discussion has been made for the turbulence-chemistry interaction and NOx formation characteristics as well as the comparative performance for CMC and flamelet model.

  • This paper presents the modeling and analysis of wind turbine generating system(WTGS) using doubly fed induction machine as a generator Generally, wind turbine generating system is composed of complicated machinery. So it is very difficult to present the mathematic model. This means that WTGS has a nonlinear system. Using the real output data from the WTGS for one year, it is simply possible to express the rotor and gear coupling system as a torque generator according to wind speed. Also, the modeling of electrical system can be able to present using the data sheet from the company. To analyze the proposed method, computer simulation using Psim program are presented to support the discussion.

  • This paper presents a machining parameter selection approach using an evolutionary computation (EC). In order to perform a successful material cutting process, the engineer is to select suitable machining parameters. Until now, it has been mostly done by the handbook look-up or solving optimization equations which is inconvenient when not in handy. The main thrust of the paper is to provide a handy machining parameter selection approach. The EC is applied to rapidly find optimal machining parameters for the user\\`s specific machining conditions. The EC is basically a combination of genetic a1gorithm and microcanonical stochastic simulated annealing method. The approach is described in detail with an application example. The paper concludes with a discussion on the potential of the proposed approach.
