  • In this paper we have considered a nonautonomous predator-prey model with discrete time delay due to gestation, in which there are two prey habitats linked by isotropic migration. One prey habitat contains a predator and the other (a refuge) does not. Here, we have established some sufficient conditions on the permanence of the system by using in-equality analytical technique. By Lyapunov functional method, we have also obtained some sufficient conditions for global asymptotic stability of this model. We have observed that the per capita migration rate among two prey habitats and the time delay has no effect on the permanence of the system but it has an effect on the global asymptotic stability of this model. The aim of the analysis of this model is to identify the parameters of interest for further study, with a view to informing and assisting policy-maker in targeting prevention and treatment resources for maximum effectiveness.

  • Sensor fault detection and isolation problems subject to H_/$H_{\infty}$, performance are concerned for linear time-invariant systems with time delay in a state and parametric uncertainties. To that end, a model-based observer bank approach is pursued. The design conditions for both continuous- and discrete-time cases are formulated in terms of matrix inequalities, which are then converted to the problems solvable via an algorithm involving convex optimization.

  • In this paper, through the study of discrete implementation of time delay control (TDC) and PID control algorithm, a new systematic gain selection method for PID controller is proposed. An important advantage of this method is that it may be applied to real systems with very simple and systematic procedure. The proposed method is derived for SISO systems and then extended to MIMO system. Through simulation for the second order non-linear plant and experiment on 2-DOF robot, the effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed. The proposed method could solve the problem of difficulty in gain tuning of existing PID controller.

  • This paper focuses on the $H_{\infty}$ filter design problem for offshore steel jacket platforms. Its objective is to design a full-order state observer for offshore platforms in presence of unknown disturbances. To make the method more practical, it is assumed that the measured variables are available at discrete-time instants with time-varying sampling time intervals. By modelling the sampling intervals as a bounded time-varying delay, the estimation error system is expressed as a time-delay system. As a result, the addressed problem can be transformed to the problem of stability of dynamic error between the system and the state estimator. Then, based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii Functional (LKF), a stability criterion is obtained in the form of Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs). According to the stability criterion, a sufficient condition on designing the state estimator gain is obtained. In the end, the proposed method is applied to an offshore platform to show its effectiveness.

  • The report presents basic functions of Time-delay System Toolbox (for MATLAB) -the general-purpose software package for Computer Aided Design of control systems with delays. The Toolbox is a collection of algorithms, expressed mostly in m-files for simulating and analysis of MIMO linear and nonlinear systems with discrete and distributed (time-varying) delays.

  • In this paper we design the robust impedance controller of the robot manipulator with time delay. The designed controller considers time delay in the position loop and stabilizes the closed-loop system. The performance of a controller can be easily degraded by external disturbances. To improve the performance when external disturbances exist, we use the disturbance observer to handle the disturbances in the velocity loop and provide robustness to the control system. To show the validity of the designed controller, several experiments are performed for the 5-DOF robot manipulator equipped with the wrist force/torque sensor system.

  • In this paper, the new stability conditions for discrete systems with time-varying delay time are proposed by Lyapuniv theory for the stability analysis of NCS(Networked Control System) having data communication. The proposed stability conditions are very simple and easily calculated compared to the previous conditions having complex numerical calculations. The proposed results can include several previous works on the same issue. From the simulation results, the proposed conditions show the better performance and less conservative on checking stability compared with previous results.

  • PID control has been widely used for real control systems. Particularly, there are many researches on control schemes of tuning PID gains. However, to the best of our knowledge, there is no result for discrete-time systems with unknown time-delay and unknown system parameters. On the other hand, Generalized predictive control has been reported as a useful self-tuning control technique for systems with unknown time-delay. So, in this study, based on minimization of a GPC criterion, we present a self-tuning PID control algorithm for unknown papameters and unknown time-delay system. A numerical simulation was presented to illustrate the effectiveness of this method.

  • This paper discusses a stochastic stabilization of Takagi-Sugeno(TS) fuzzy system with Markovian input delay. The finite Markovian process is adopted to model the input delary of the overall control system. It is assumed that the zero and hold devices are used for control input. The continuous-time TS fuzzy system with the Markovian input delay is discretized for easy handling delay, according, the discretized TS fuzzy system is represented by a discrete-time TS fuzzy system with jumping parameters. The stochastic stabilizibility of the jump TS fuzzy system is derived and formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LNIS)

The finite Markovian process is adopted to model the input delay of the overall control system. It is assumed that the zero and hold devices are used for control input. The continuous-time T-S fuzzy system with the Markovian input delay is discretized for easy handling delay, accordingly, the discretixzd T-S fuzzy system is represented by a uncertain discrete-time T-S fuzy system with jumping parameters. The robust stochastic stabilizibility of the uncertain jump T-S fuzzy system is derived and formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs).
