In this paper, we present an iterative learning control (ILC) framework for tracking problems with predefined data points that are desired points at certain time instants. To design ILC systems for such problems, a new ILC scheme is proposed to produce output curves that pass close to the desired points. Unlike traditional ILC approaches, an algorithm will be developed in which the control signals are generated by solving an optimal ILC problem with respect to the desired sampling points. In another word, it is a direct approach for the multiple points tracking ILC control problem where we do not need to divide the tracking problem into two steps separately as trajectory planning and ILC controller. The strength of the proposed formulation is the methodology to obtain a control signal through learning law only considering the given data points and dynamic system, instead of following the direction of tracking a prior identified trajectory. The key advantage of the proposed approach is to significantly reduce the computational cost. Finally, simulation results will be introduced to confirm the effectiveness of proposed scheme.
This paper presents a novel filtering method for speed measurements to improve the low-speed performance of the direct-drive permanent magnet traction machines for elevators. Based on the theory of nonlinear tracking differentiator (NTD), this method, which can act as a high performance filter of a raw speed signal, obtains a more accurate speed feedback signal when applying a low-resolution encoder. In addition, it can relieve the interference caused by the position derivative for speed sampling. By analyzing the frequency response of the NTD, the influence of its parameters on the performance of the speed filtering is investigated. Compared with different types of low-pass filters, the proposed method shows a shorter time delay and a stronger ability in terms of noise suppression when the parameters are selected carefully. In addition, when using the measured speed signal through a nonlinear tracking differentiator as the feedback of the system, the motor runs more steadily at low speeds. As a result, the riding comfort of a direct-drive elevator can be improved. The feasibility of the proposed strategy was verified on an 11.7kW elevator traction machine using a commercial inverter.
In this paper, effect of imperfect power control on performance of a pseudonoise (PN) code tracking loop is analyzed and simulated for a direct-sequence/code-division multiple access (DS/CDMA) system. The multipath fading channel is modeled as a two-ray Rayleigh fading model. Power control error is modeled as a log-normally distributed random variable. The tracking performance of DLL (delay-locked-loop) is evaluated in terms of tracking jitter and mean-time-to-lose-lock (MTLL). From the simulation results, it is shown that the PN tracking performance is very sensitive to the power control error.
A noncoherent full-digital PN(pseudo noise) code acquisition/tracking loop has been presetned and implemented in FPGA for the CDMA band-limited direct-sequence spread-spectrum (DS-SS) signals. It employs a simple decimator to control of local PN code phase to lower the hardware cost, and a second order loop to enable the more accurate tracking. The proposed acquisition/tracking loop has been designed in RTL-level VHDL, synthesized into logic gates using the design analyzer of synopsys software, implemented in an ALTERA FPGA chip, and tested. The number of logic gates used in the implemented FPGA chip is around 7000. The functionality has been verified using a PC interface circuitry and a logic analyzer.

This paper presents the development of a full order sliding mode controller for tracking problem of a class of uncertain dynamical system, in particular, the direct drive robot manipulators. By treating the arm as an uncertain system represented by its nominal and bounded parametric uncertainties, a new robust fullorder sliding mode tracking controller is derived such that the actual trajectory tracks the desired trajectory as closely as possible despite the non-linearities and input couplings present in the system. A proportional-integral sliding surface is chosen to ensure the stability of overall dynamics during the entire period i.e. the reaching phase and the sliding phase. Application to a three DOF direct drive robot manipulator is considered.
This paper proposes a Direct Power Control (DPC) scheme of improved command tracking capability for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) Medium Voltage (MV) Wind Turbines. Benchmarking is performed based on a neutral point clamped three-level back-to-back type voltage source converter. It is introduced to design the DPC modeling and propose DPC scheme of a three-level NPC (3L-NPC) converter. During the fault condition in wind farms, the proposed control scheme directly controls the generated output power to the command value from the hierarchical wind farm controller. The proposed control scheme is compared with conventional control scheme as respect to loss and thermal analysis. The DPC scheme of improved command tracking capability is confirmed through PLECS simulations. Simulation result shows that proposed control scheme achieves a much shorter transient time in a step response of generated output power. The proposed control scheme makes it possible to provide a good dynamic performance for PMSG MV wind turbine to generate a high quality output power under grid fault condition.
This paper proposes a direct adaptive control method using self-recurrent wavelet neural network (SRWNN) for stable path tracking of mobile robots. The architecture of the SRWNN is a modified model of the wavelet neural network (WNN). Unlike the WNN, since a mother wavelet layer of the SRWNN is composed of self-feedback neurons, the SRWNN has the ability to store the past information of the wavelet. For this ability of the SRWNN, the SRWNN is used as a controller with simpler structure than the WNN in our on-line control process. The gradient-descent method with adaptive learning rates (ALR) is applied to train the parameters of the SRWNN. The ALR are derived from discrete Lyapunov stability theorem, which are used to guarantee the stable path tracking of mobile robots. Finally, through computer simulations, we demonstrate the effectiveness and stability of the proposed controller.
Purpose: We aimed to investigate whether visuomotor function would be modulated, when healthy subjects performed tracking task after tDCS application over the primary sensorimotor cortex (SM1) in the non-dominant hemisphere. Methods: Thirty four right-handed healthy participants were enrolled, who randomly and evenly divided into two groups, real tDCS group and sham control group. Direct current with intensity of 1 mA was delivered over SM1 for 15 minutes. After tDCS, tracking task was measured, and their performance was calculated by an accuracy index (AI). Results: No significant difference in AI at the baseline between the two groups was observed. The AI of the real tDCS group was significantly increased after electrical stimulation, compared to the sham control group. Two way ANOVA with repeated measurement showed a significant finding in a large main effects of time and group-by-repeated test interaction. Conclusion: This study indicated that application of the anodal tDCS over the SM1 could facilitate higher visuomotor coordination, compared to sham tDCS group. These findings suggest possibility that tDCS can be used as adjuvant brain modulator for improvement of motor accuracy in healthy individuals as well as patients with brain injury.
