  • The advent of digitalisation has transformed economies into more integrated, but increasingly complex systems. This new trend has brought dynamic changes in the manufacturing sector through advanced ICT infrastructure, smart factories, digitally-controlled logistics, and skilled ICT-labour. The impacts of the digital economy on manufacturing could be best illustrated through "Industry 4.0." With this wave of technological advancement, countries aim to establish an industrial ecosystem where every manufacturing process and function is connected and interacts through digital networks. Industry 4.0 presents opportunities for Emerging Asia, as the region has emerged as a fast-growing manufacturing hub and particularly a production base for ICT goods. However, growing production capacity, increased exports, and increases in FDI in the field of ICT goods manufacturing have so far contributed little to the development and diffusion of ICT. A huge gap exists in the ICT uptake amongst countries and between small and large firms. This paper highlights the level of Industry 4.0 readiness of Emerging Asia and key factors that determine its enhancement.

  • For the government of president Moon's AI SW HRD policy, he proclaimed AI democracy that anyone can utilize artificial intelligence technology to spread AI education for the people of the country. Through cognitive map analysis, this study presents expected policy outcomes due to the input of policy factors to overcome crisis factors and utilize opportunity factors. According to the cognitive guidance analysis, first, the opportunity factor is recognized as accelerating the digital transformation to Covid 19 if AI SW HRD is well nurtured. Second, the crisis factor refers to the rapid paradigm shift caused by the intelligence information society, resulting in job losses in the manufacturing sector and deepening imbalance in manpower supply and demand, especially in the artificial intelligence sector. Third, the comprehensive cognitive map shows a circular process for creating an AI SW ecosystem in response to threats caused by untact caused by Corona and a circular process for securing AI talent in response to threats caused by deepening imbalance in manpower supply and demand in the AI sector. Fourth, in order to accelerate the digital circulation that has been accelerated by Corona, we found a circular process to succeed in the Korean version of digital new deal by strengthening national and corporate competitiveness through AI-utilized capacity and industrial and regional AI education. Finally, the AI utilization empowerment strengthening rotation process is the most dominant of the four mechanisms, and we also found a relatively controllable feedback loop to obtain policy outputs.

  • The mass storage of data and the importance of storage capacity lately has emerged. In this paper, we suggest the new method which estimate life cycle from acceleration life test about 2.5 inch hard disk driver as mass storage, which minimize the difference between real market annual failure rate and estimated failure rate. we obtain market transfer capacity per hours from returned 2.5inch hard disk drives about 309 numbers and accelerating transfer capacity per hours from acceleration life test. we calculate acceleration factor about duty cycle and estimate annual failure rate from failure rate and acceleration factors: temperature acceleration factor, duty cycle acceleration factor, the transfer capacity per hour represent the 93.4 % of user is 5.8 GB/hour, the transfer capacity per hour from acceleration life test is 81.4 GB/hour. the acceleration factor of duty cycle is 14.1. annual failure rate is stabilized at market one year after, annual failure rate is between 0.3 and 0.378. estimated annual failure rate is 0.4, so it is matched at 75~94 % between estimate annual failure rate and market annual failure rate. This study influence the estimate method of annual failure rate by the result of acceleration life cycle of manufacture.

  • Cooperating with a supplier with professional skills is necessary to achieve performance in the development of the innovative products. It is also important to improve development competence and share knowledge. This study empirically analyzed the effect of participant's Job Competence and Leadership Competence on Knowledge Sharing, and the effect of Purchaser Interdependence on Supplier Absorption Capacity. The purpose of the study is to confirm that Knowledge Sharing between Development Participant and Supplier contributes to Performance and to demonstrate the need for a cooperative relationship with the Supplier. A survey was conducted on the product development participants to confirm the relationship between the factors using a Structural Equation Model. As a result of the hypothesis test, the better the Individual Competence of the development participants, the better the Knowledge Sharing Activity, and then Knowledge Sharing and Interdependence are the main factor in the Absorption Capacity of the Supplier. The results of this study can contribute to improving the Supplier Absorption Capacity in the product development projects in which high technology is converged. In the future, we will study the effects of the project support activities of related departments for Performance.

  • The numbers of occurrences and the amount of spills of marine oil pollution have increased, and accordingly, it is necessary to secure additional control capabilities. Therefore, it was intended to present an empirical basis for improving the overall idle capacity through the relocation of control ships existing in each region. First, the marine pollution index was derived and the control capability compared to the marine pollution index of each region was compared to examine the appropriateness of the deployment of control ships. The marine oil pollution risk index was derived by multiplying the nine items that cause marine pollution by the weight derived by experts. We checked the control capacity (A) compared to the marine pollution risk index (F) for each sea area. Mokpo (F:13.4, A:1.9), Busan (F:14.3, A:6.4), and Yeosu (F:21.5, A:16.6) are the areas that lack control capabilities compared to the marine pollution risk index. On the other hand, the areas that have room for control compared to the marine pollution risk index for each sea area are Masan (F: 5.9, A:13.3), Gunsan (F:1.7, A:8.3), and Jeju (F:2.7, A:6.9). Therefore, for improving the standardized control capacity proportional to the risk of marine pollution nationwide, it is suggested that the control ships of Masan, Gunsan, and Jeju should be relocated to Mokpo, Busan, and Yeosu, which lack control capacity.

  • In order to analyze the educational effects of digital textbooks for elementary students, the 3~4 graded elementary students were selected and designated as panels in 2014 to conduct the longitudinal study. We conducted a questionnaire survey on students who were in grade 5 or 6 in elementary school in 2016 to evaluate their effects on cognitive domain, social domain, social domain, psychomotor domain, and learning competency. As a result, 5th grade students using the digital textbooks for 3 years showed higher educational effectiveness than 6th grade students using the digital textbooks for 2 years. In addition, the use of the digital textbooks for three years has been shown to have improved educational effectiveness in all areas except students' psychomotor domain. These educational effects were higher for students with higher scores, more times using digital textbooks, and higher teachers' smart education capacity.

  • Teachers should be able to reorganize the curriculum according to the student level, reorganize textbooks freely, and distribute them to students. However, current paper-textbooks are difficult to modify or edit some contents and distribute them to students, also current digital textbooks are grouped into units, so the order or educational resources cannot be reconstructed. In addition, The digital textbooks are difficult to update external links or the latest resources, and to contain various multimedia materials or high-definition realistic content due to capacity limitations. Therefore, this study presented functions: teaching and learning and evaluation functions, resources search and sharing functions, learning records and analysis functions, screen showing and printing functions, so that teachers can provide customized learning by level to students using digital textbooks. Through the expert Delphi survey, detailed functions for each area were divided into teachers and students. We proposed expanding and developing digital textbooks to various subjects, and distributing various teaching and learning models using digital textbooks.

  • Within an intelligent automated cyber-physical system, the realization of the autonomous mechanism for data collection, data integration, and data analysis plays a critical role in the design, development, operation, and maintenance of such a system. This construct is particularly vital for fault-tolerant route-finding systems that rely on the imprecise GPS location of the vehicles to properly operate, timely plan, and continuously produce informative feedback to the user. More essentially, the integration of digital twins with cyber-physical route-finding systems has been overlooked in intelligent transportation services with the capacity to construct the network routes solely from the locations of the operating vehicles. To address this limitation, the present study proposes a conceptual architecture that employs digital twin to autonomously maintain, update, and manage intelligent transportation systems. This virtual management simulation can improve the accuracy of time-of-arrival prediction based on auto-generated routes on which the vehicle's real-time location is mapped. To that end, first, an intelligent transportation system was developed based on two primary mechanisms: 1) an automated route finding process in which predictive data-driven models (i.e., regularized least-squares regression) can elicit the geometry and direction of the routes of the transportation network from the cloud of geotagged data points of the operating vehicles and 2) an intelligent mapping process capable of accurately locating the vehicles on the map whereby their arrival times to any point on the route can be estimated. Afterward, the digital representations of the physical entities (i.e., vehicles and routes) were simulated based on the auto-generated routes and the vehicles' locations in near-real-time. Finally, the feasibility and usability of the presented conceptual framework were evaluated through the comparison between the primary characteristics of the physical entities with their digital representations. The proposed architecture can be used by the vehicle-tracking applications dependent on geotagged data for digital mapping and location tracking of vehicles under a systematic comparison and simulation cyber-physical system.

  • This paper deals with an optimal capacity allocation problem and performance analysis in Advanced Information Communication Processing System(AICPS). AICPS is a gateway system interconnection PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network), ISDN(Intergrated Services Digital Network), PSDN(Packet Switched Data Network), internet, Frame Relay and ATM together. This study considers not only ISDN and Internet but also user behavior of On-line service which is analyzed by Markov process. A call blocking probability of TNAS and INAS is computed by Erlang's formula. Then, PNAS and WNAS's call blocking probability are computed by Stochastic knapsack modeling. The result is compared with result of simulation. Finally, we allocate an optimal capacity minimizing total call blocking probability.

  • In this paper a platoon merging control system is considered as a remotely located system with state represented by a stochastic process. in the system it is common to encounter situations where a single decision maker controls a large number of subsystems and observation and control signals are sent over a communication channel with finite capacity and significant transmission delays. Unlike a classical estimation problem where the observation is a continuous process corrupted by additive noise there is a constraint that the observation must be coded and transmitted over a digital communication channel with fintie capacity. A recursive coder-estimator sequence is a state estimation scheme based on observations transmitted with finite communication capacity constraint. in this paper we introduce a stochastic model for the lead vehicle in a platoon of vehicles in a lane considering the angle between the road surface and a horizontal plane as a stochastic process. In order to merge two platoons the lead vehicle of the following platoon is controlled by a remote control station. Using the observation transmitted over communication channel the remote control station designs the feedback controller. The simulation results show that the intervehicle spacings and the deviations from the desired intervehicle spacing are well regulated.
