The purpose of this study is to make sure what the stress causes of women's EMTs within the firehouse are, and is to suggest ideas (plans) that are possible to resolve this problem. The reasons are because of difficulties such as not only the overwork at one's tasks, the uncomfortable working environment and circumstances, women's pregnancy, but also shift work or the shift system. It's own ideas about the way to resolve these difficulties are as follows: a separate operation of first-aid department, environmental improvement within a fire house (fire station) via remodeling, activation of substitute man power, alterating women's EMT services into daywork system, mutual encouragement and solicitude among co-workers, reinforcement of the number of the working force to be mobilized, and adoption about the rest year system in employment.

The problem of urban decay in Hong Kong has drawn much attention of both practitioners and academics. Poorly managed buildings not just give a negative image to the Pearl of the Orient in the region, but also pose potential risk hazards to the health and safety of the general public. While it is necessary to devise a comprehensive plan on redevelopment and urban planning, preserving the existing buildings to maintain their conditions for habitation can be a short-term option to safeguard quality standard. With the increasing number of ageing buildings in Hong Kong, a lot of research efforts have been devoted to managing repair and maintenance projects properly (for example those initiated and funded by the Construction Industry Institute, Hong Kong; and the current study financially supported by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University). Given the short duration and more diversified nature of work, building repair and maintenance works are found to be more difficult to monitor and regulate when compared with new works. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive analysis on the problems of running building maintenance projects. An extensive review of contemporary literature was firstly conducted, which forms a solid basis for developing an empirical study on the problems and difficulties of running building maintenance projects from the viewpoints of industrial practitioners with a view to formulating effective strategies for managing maintenance projects successfully.

This study aims to provide guidelines for the activities of workplace health managers by identifying their excellent health promotion activities and motivations. For this, consent for the study was obtained from 21 workplace health managers who had worked at the same company for more than five years, and a semi-structured questionnaire was sent via email to collect and qualitatively analyze the data. As a result, 17 categories and three topics were drawn. The derived topics included a sense of reward and accomplishment as workplace health managers, difficulties encountered as workplace health managers, and how to solve the difficulties. The survey respondents answered that they feel a sense of reward and accomplishment when workers open their mind, change their daily life, express gratitude, and pioneer new fields. On the other hand, they feel difficulties with unpredictable health, changes in the organizational culture, secrecy of disease, and people who think their job is easy. As a way of overcoming such difficulties, the research subjects said that it is necessary to read the minds of workers, let them know by themselves, use existing programs, have the most difficult people on their side, and spread their achievements. The results of this study revealed that it is required for workplace health managers to develop professional skills and emphasize the importance of health management to the policy-makers and employees of their workplace by continuously reporting health management performance. In addition, they need to actively benchmark the success strategies of exemplary workplace health managers.

These days, the interest in the gas safety management has been increasing in our society, It needs the estimates to later investment in points of the gas safety management investment for prevention costs from gas accidents. It is written the general concept of gas safety management and the items that should be invested under the current policy. However they are not defined clearly and We have lots of difficulties in adapting them to actual spots and understanding them by their carry-out. When it follows the current safety standards, they doesn't meet the possibilities of mutual comparison, because gas safety management investment's definition is different. And sufficient information is not supported to efficiency adjudication of gas safety management investment. In this paper, you can find that Gas safety management is defined in order to more effective gas safety management investment, and the Socioscentific approach method was used to decide the gas safety management items that shall be invested.

Recently, interest in the necessity and practical application of BIM (Building Information Modeling) is also increasing in the civil engineering field. However, there are difficulties in building BIM models and utilizing BIM modeling in the civil engineering field due to various reasons. To this end, it is necessary to develop management tools and research on management methods that can effectively utilize the BIM library in the civil engineering field. Libraries in the civil engineering field are complementary to each other, so library management in consideration of library management in various combinations and continuous updates is important. BIM library management was proposed through the development of a management tool that reflects these characteristics, which is expected to contribute to improving productivity in the field of civil design.

This study was aimed to research the problems of business in Special Economic Zone, Kaesong Industrial Complex to relieve the tensions of politics and military ties in the Korean Peninsula and revitalize the Economic Cooperation between South and North Korea, and to suggest the needs of policy alternatives to resolve the problems, and to propose the sustainable developmental strategy to carry forward a enterprise successfully in the view points of companies and Kaesong Industrial Complex. Through the survey of Kaesong Industrial Complex, we reviewed the expected effects of the business. Besides, through this survey, we became aware deeply the actual conditions of the companies that are occupied in the Kaesong Industrial Complex and their mother companies, and the statistically important factors of difficulties in management.

Galactosemia is a rare genetic metabolic disease caused by galactose and its metabolites generated during carbohydrate metabolism, which is relatively rare in Asian countries, including Korea. Patients with galactosemia should be treated with a galactose-restricted diet. However, information is lacking about the exact content of galactose in food, and dietary guidelines for patients with galactosemia in Korea. This study aims to recognize the difficulties faced by parents and clinical experts of patients with galactosemia, and understand their demands. Totally, 5 parents of children diagnosed with galactosemia and 5 clinical professionals participated in the focus group interviews. The parents' interview focused on the daily life of the patient, which included diet and social difficulties. The clinical experts mainly answered about medical care, including the number and status of patients, and their suggestions for effective treatment. Most parents were worried about social isolation due to conflicts in the family as well as in society due to a lack of understanding of the disease. The clinical experts stated the absence of a disease management system as the greatest problem. An integrated support system for patients with galactosemia, which includes appropriate dietary guidelines by considering the domestic environment, is required.

This paper describes the efforts in developing several versions of bridge management system (BMS) in Taiwan. There were several versions of stand-alone BMS developed in Taiwan prior to the Ji-Ji earthquake that occurred in year 1999. Since many bridges were seriously damaged by this earthquake, the Ministry of Transportation and Communication determined to develop a nationwide BMS to have a better by control on the status of bridge maintenance. Implemented in year 2000, the Taiwan Bridge Management system (T-BMS) is now the dominating and mandatory system used by all the government agencies that are responsible for bridge maintenance. Having more then 25,000 bridges in its inventory, T-BMS has thousands of logins per month to update data in the relevant database. The experiences and difficulties of using such a nationwide bridge management system are discussed. Finally, future plans for BMS development are also proposed in this paper.

The importance of project performance management as an alternative for solving problems is rising, which are followed by the difficulties of managing construction project in the construction industry. This research classifies and applies the potential improvement made by the construction practitioners. In order to apply influential factors for success on the construction project, the research identifies the relationship between the factors and performance management practices. In addition, in order to predict the results reflecting the project characteristics which are un-improvable by the construction managers in the initial stage of construction, the effect of project characteristics to the identified management practices have been drawn by performance area. Finally, in order to improve the predicted performance, this research provides a framework in setting valid best practices according to the performance areas through a statistical analysis between the best practices and project characteristics through the industry survey.

Due to harsh conditions of construction site, understanding of current feature of terrain and other infrastructures is critical issue for site managers. However, because of difficulties in acquiring the geographical information of the construction sites such as large sites and limited capability of construction workers, comprehensive site investigation of current feature of construction site is not an easy task for construction managers. To address these circumstances of construction sites, this study deduce difficulties and applicabilities of unmanned aerial vehicle in the area of construction site management. To confirm applicability of UAV in civil construction project, case study have been conducted on the road construction project. The result of case study proved that the developed system is one of promising technologies that has been studied in construction site management. To improve applicability of UAV for construction and process management information, law and technical issues will be an important area of future study.
