A geometric approach to fault diagnosis algorithm in linear systems

  • An algorithm for multiple fault diagnosis of linear dynamic systems is proposed. The algorithm is constructed by using of the geometric approach based on observation that, when the number of faulty units of the system is known, the set of faulty units can be differentiated from other sets by checking linear varieties in the measurement data space. It is further shown that the system with t number of faults can be diagnosed within (t+1) sample-time units if the input-output measurements are rich and that the algorithm can be used for diagnosis even when the number of faults is not known in advance.

  • The PRT(Personal Rapid Transit) system has been being researched and examined to efficiently provide high quality services to passengers against the traffic congestion of the capital region. With concept that PRT differentiated from GRT(Group Rapid Transit), PRT generally is a tracked vehicle system operating with unmanned. The embedded software of PRT Automated Control system generally is comprised of the central software, stations software and vehicle software. The controllers of these software interface to each other using its RF communication antennas. In this paper, each embedded software of the PRT system should be applied to an incremental and systematic test approach technique in the design and implementation phase, because the reliability and safety of the PRT system should be assured

  • The joint dysfunction is the major cause of pain in trunk and extremities according to J. McM. Mennell who mentioned that there were no pathological changes that was found in the painful joint. The referred pain due to joint dysfunction has to be differentiated from other painful conditions, particularly of the neuromusculoskeletal system. Most of the pain in the lower extremities is due to the sacroiliac joint dysfunction according to Setsuo Hakata who had developed arthrokinematic approach(AKA) for sacroiliac joint in 1989. AKA for sacroiliac dysfunction is made up of distraction & gliding technics that are no violent to recover the disturbed intra-articular movement and result in immediate relief of pain.

  • To solve the challenge of waste plastics, this study investigated the related technologies and company trends along the plastic life cycle, and primarily describes ICT technologies to improve efficiency in the process of sorting and sorting waste plastics. Waste plastic discharge caused by the explosive increase in parcel traffic because of COVID-19 is also growing exponentially. Hence, waste treatment is emerging as a social challenge. Most of the domestic waste classification depends on the manual process according to the waste pollution level. The plastic material classification approach using the spectroscopy approach reveals a high error in the contaminated waste plastic classification, but if the Artificial Intelligence-based image classification technology is employed together, the classification precision can be enhanced because of the type of waste plastic product and the contaminated part can be differentiated.

  • Resistance to thyroid hormone syndrome (RTH) is a genetic disease caused by the mutation of either the thyroid hormone receptor-β (THRB) gene or the thyroid hormone receptor-α (THRA) gene. RTH caused by THRB mutations (RTH-β) is characterized by the target tissue's response to thyroid hormone, high levels of triiodothyronine and/or thyroxine, and inappropriate secretion of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH). THRA mutation is characterized by hypothyroidism that affects gastrointestinal, neurological, skeletal, and myocardial functions. Most patients do not require treatment, and some patients may benefit from medication therapy. These syndromes are characterized by decreased tissue sensitivity to thyroid hormones, generating various clinical manifestations. Thus, clinical changes of resistance to thyroid hormones must be recognized and differentiated, and an approach to the practice of personalized medicine through an interdisciplinary approach is needed.

  • This study offers the possibility of a new integrated product of video technology and public culture content. The Development of 'the Urinal of Emotional Type with Screen' will introduce a new sanitary pottery product and it will be a new attempt to combine hygiene pottery product with high-tech electronic product. It is a product development idea that presents the new marketability of the sanitary pottery product with the improvement of awareness of the restroom and the idea of wit through public information notification and advertisement effect. For the commercialization of the product, the prototype will be made through a separate production process with the design of this project, through 3D rendering, 3D mockup and so on. Various product expansions can be consulted with manufacturers after that. It is a new approach of image making with high quality and differentiated pricing strategy, that targeting small-scale business, such as franchise coffee shops and liquor stores with high quality and differentiated pricing strategy, and it will lead the market trend with various marketing availability through differentiated video contents.

  • This paper researches and evaluates a bandwidth reallocation mechanism for efficient DiffServ QoS support in MPLS networks by monitoring the network traffic status and reallocating unused bandwidth. While the Differentiated Services in MPLS Networks architecture provides QoS management through the RSVP resource reservation, this mechanism is based on a static provisioning of resource. But this approach can lead to waste bandwidth in some service classes or, leave some service classes' resource starved. This paper presents the bandwidth reallocation dynamically based on network traffic status for bandwidth usage maximization.

  • The advantages of "VPN over Internet" are cost-effectiveness and flexibility However, the disadvantages are the lack of sufficient QoS mechanism and transmission capacity for high bandwidth service. Given this increasing demand for high bandwidth Internet and QoS assurances in "PN over Internet", IP/GMPLS based control plane combined with a high bandwidth capacity of DWDM optical network is seen as a very favorable approach for the realization of future "OVPN over IP/GMPLS over DWDM" Within OVPN for providing QoS guaranteed multimedia service over the NGOI(Next Generation Optical Internet) based on the "IP/GMPLS over DWDM" concept, differentiated QoS framework is one of the key issues to implement OVPN over DWDM-based NGOI. Keeping in mind that IETF(Internet Engineering Task Force) and ITU-T(International Telecommunication Union) are standardizing IP/GMPLS over DWDM protocol framework as a solution for the NGOI, in this paper, we suggest Optical-LSP establishment and QoS maintenance scheme based on DOQS(Differentiated Optical QoS Service) classes, which are the key issue of DOQS protocol framework for assuring end-to-end QoS in "OVPN over IP/GMPLS over DWDM".

  • In recent years, the problem of spectrum mobility in Cognitive Radio (CR) Networks has been widely investigated. In order to utilize spectrum resources completely, many spectrum handoff techniques based on game theory have been proposed, but most studies only concern that users how to achieve better payoffs, without much attention to the diverse needs of users. In this paper, we propose a new channel-switching model based on game theory, using a prioritized approach to meet the diverse needs of users in two different modes (CQ and PS). At the same time, this paper proposes some acceleration techniques to reach the Nash equilibrium more efficiently. We evaluate the performance of the proposed schemes depending on priority using real channel availability measurements, and conclude that the channel quality function (CQ) mode provide better service for priority user but the plan-sorting (PS) mode can be more suitable in multiple priority users exist scene.

A Qualitative Study on Korean Fashion Designer Brand Individuality Factors (국내 패션 디자이너 브랜드 개성 구성요인에 관한 질적 연구)

  • The domestic fashion industry of the middle and late 20th century emphasized the importance of a standardized design process; however, the values of differentiated brand individuality have become increasingly important with the qualitative·quantitative growth of designer brands. Therefore, paying attention to designer individuality (or a differentiated element of a designer brand growing up in the domestic fashion industry) this study reestablished factors of the designer brand individuality. An in-depth interview was conducted with 13 designers and consumers for empirical analysis. In order to identify concepts of designer individuality based on the theory of the brand personality by Aaker along with precedent studies, the study devised a theoretical frame to explain a conceptual structure of designer brand individuality as well as reestablish its factors as the designer individuality, design and non-design factors through empirical research. Empirical research derived the designer individuality factors as an external designer image, designer taste, design philosophy and designer personality. Design factors were derived as concept, working process and method, style and formativeness. Non-design factors were also extracted as wearing experience, wearer image, lookbook image, fashion shows and exhibitions. It is meaningful that little empirical research has been conducted on domestic fashion designers who actually run designer brands and that this study helped understand designer brands through a new approach called designer individuality.
