노인의 건강증진태도와 생리적 지수에 대한 클린다이어트 프로그램의 중재효과 (The intervention effects of the Clean Diet program on the health promotion attitudes and the physiological indices of an elderly)

  • 이 연구는 노인의 건강증진태도와 생리적 지수에 대하여 클린다이어트 프로그램의 중재효과를 파악하고자 비동등성 대조군 전 후 실험설계로 2015년 6월 24일부터 2015년 9월 18일까지 12주간 실시되었다. 연구대상자는 대구광역시 C 노인대학에서 만성질환이 있는 65세 이상 노인 60명을 선정하여 실험군과 대조군으로 각각 30명씩 배정하였다. 클린다이어트 프로그램은 실험군에만 적용되었으며 웰니스, 건강행동, 주관적 건강감, 우울 및 생리적 지수(혈압, 혈당, TG/TC, BMI)에 대하여 실험군과 대조군의 사전 사후 차이를 비교하였다. 연구결과 실험군의 웰니스(t=7.069, p<.001), 건강행동(t=6.196, p<.001), 주관적 건강감(t=6.624, p<.001) 수준이 향상되었고, 우울(t=4.038, p<.001)은 완화된 변화를 보였다. 그리고 생리적 지수는 BMI(t=5.974, p<.001)에서만 감소된 것으로 분석되었다. 이와 같은 결과는 클린다이어트 프로그램의 중재효과를 입증한다. 따라서 노인에게 클린다이어트 프로그램을 적용하면 삶의 질을 높이는 총체적인 생활방식이나 건강을 유지하기 위한 생활양식 그리고 우울증 완화와 BMI관리에 효율적인 것으로 판단된다.

산업장 근로자의 건강증진 프로그램 요구도 (Need Assessment for Worksite Health Promotion Program)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the kinds of health promotion program which workers want, worker's intention for participation, proper method, time, duration and manager. A self-administered questionnaire method was used to collect data from 412 employees of 3 worksites in Chungpook and Kyungkee. This survey was carried out from Aug. 10 to Aug. 20, 1998. The results of this study are as follows: 1. In male, among health promotion programs, favorite ones were physical fitness(32.2%), periodic health check-up(24.6%), and stress management(18.0%). In female, among health promotion programs, favorite ones were periodic health check-up(26.0%), physical fitness(22.0%), and body weight control(19.5%). 2. The more young subjects are, the more they like physical fitness program, and the female like body weight control program regardless of BMI. Manufacturing worker preferred back pain prevention program to clerical worker did. In female, drinker preferred stress management program to non-drinker did. 3. The more old subjects are, the more they like back pain prevention program, and non-smoker preferred body weight control program to smoker did. 4. In health promotion program format which the subjects wanted, learning of self-examination techniques was 41.1%, worksite screening was 3l.0%, availability of pamphlets and audiovisual materials was 20.0%, presentation of worksite educational sessions was 7.9%, and the most wanted manager for the program was medical doctor and then nurse, physical trainer, psychological counselor. The favorite health promotion program duration was less than 30 minutes(49.6%), and the favorite time was before work(49.6%). 5. Among respondents, 48.5% was smokers, 81.8% was drinkers, 39.9% engaged in the regular exercise, 68.2% engaged in regular diet habit. In vaccination, 50.2%, if possible, wanted to be vaccinated and 37.6% never wanted to be vaccinated. 6. Ex-smoker, ex-drinker, the subjects in the regular exercise, and in the regular diet habit responded they were in good health. There was a significant difference between exercise and health status. Need and intention for participation of health promotion program were high in ex-smoker, ex-drinker, the subjects in the regular exercise, and in the regular diet habit. According to results for this study, if the favorite programs, exercise, periodic health check-up, stress management program, are operated at a proper time and with managers they want, this programs can really raise the participation of employees. And as employees want to learn self-examination techniques if worksite educational sessions are performed, health promotion program can effectively be operated.

혈액투석 환자의 자기효능이론 기반 식사관리 프로그램이 식사관리이행, 신체상태 및 삶의 질에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Dietary Program based on Self-efficacy Theory on Dietary Adherence, Physical Indices and Quality of Life for Hemodialysis Patients)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine effects of a dietary program based on self-efficacy theory on dietary adherence, physical status and quality of life (QoL) in hemodialysis patients. Methods: A non-equivalent control group pre-post test design was used. The intervention group received the dietary program for 8 weeks from August 4 to September 26, 2014. The control group received only usual care. Results: ANCOVA showed that dietary adherence (F=64.75, p <.001) was significantly different between the two groups. Serum albumin (F=12.13, p =.001), interdialytic weight gain (F=56.97, p <.001), calories (F=15.80, p <.001) as physical status indices were significantly different, but serum potassium (F=2.69, p =.106) and serum phosphorus (F=1.08, p =.303) showed no significant difference between the two groups. In terms of health-related QoL, the physical component scale (F=10.05, p =.002) and the mental component scale (F=16.66, p <.001) were significantly different between the two groups. In addition, in terms of diet related QoL, diet level (F=35.33, p <.001) and satisfaction level (F=15.57, p <.001) were significantly different between the two groups, but dietary impact level (F=1.23, p =.271) was not significantly different. Conclusion: Findings show that the dietary program based on self-efficacy theory is an effective nursing intervention program to improve adherence to diet, and to maintain physical status and QoL for hemodialysis patients.

가정연계 요리활동 중심의 유아 영양교육 프로그램 개발과 평가 (The Development and Evaluation of a Nutrition Education Program for Preschoolers Focused on Family-linked Cooking Activity)

  • 본 연구에서는 유아를 대상으로 가정연계 요리활동 중심의 영양교육 프로그램을 개발하고 평가하는 데 있다. 프로그램 개발 및 평가에 있어 전문가의 타당도와 사회적 인지이론을 바탕으로 유아교육기관의 매월 식단에 포함된 제철식품 1개를 선정하여 가정연계 요리활동 프로그램(12개 차시)을 개발하였다. 본 연구는 총 12개월 동안 월 1회 실시하였으며, 유아 29명을 대상으로 사전, 사후 검사를 실시하였다. 유아대상의 평균 연령은 72.5개월이었다. 프로그램 적용 후 사후검사에서 실험집단이 비교집단보다 영양지식과 식습관에 미치는 효과가 유의미하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 본 연구에서 개발한 가정연계 요리활동 중심의 유아 영양교육 프로그램이 유아의 영양지식, 식습관 향상에 효과적이며 영양교육에 가정연계 요리활동을 접목하여 활용될 수 있는 근거와 시사점을 제공한다고 볼 수 있다.

Evaluating the Influence of Side Stream Cigarette Smoke at an Early Stage of Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis Progression in Mice

  • Side stream cigarette smoke (SSCS) is known to be as harmful and hazardous to human health as is active smoking. In this study, we investigated the relationship between the exposure to SSCS and its stimulatory and subacute effects on the progression of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). A methionine and choline-deficient plus high fat (MCDHF) diet was administered to C57BL/6 mice for 6 weeks. During the first three weeks of MCDHF diet feeding, each diet group was exposed to SSCS (0, 20, $40{\mu}g/L$) or fresh air for 2 hrs per day and 5 days per week. Additional experiments were performed by increasing the concentration (0, 30, $60{\mu}g/L$) and exposure time (6 hours per day) of SSCS. According to histopathologic analysis and serum levels of Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) and Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST), there were no differences in hepatic fat deposition, fibrosis, apoptosis or liver damage in MCDHF-fed mice based on SSCS exposure. There were also no differences in the expression of inflammation-, oxidative stress- or fibrosis-related genes between MCDHF-fed mice with or without SSCS exposure. Therefore, it is concluded that SSCS with current exposure amounts does not have additive detrimental effects on the early stage of NASH.

Diet of children under the government-funded meal support program in Korea

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the diet of children under the government-funded meal support program. The 143 children (67 boys and 76 girls) participated in this study among $4^{th}-6^{th}$ elementary school students receiving free lunches during the summer vacation of 2007 and living in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, Korea. The subjects consisted of four groups supported by Meal Box Delivery (n = 26), Institutional Foodservice (n = 53), Restaurant Foodservice (n = 27), or Food Delivery (n = 37). A three-day 24-hour dietary recall and a self-administered survey were conducted. In addition, the children's heights and weights were measured. The average energy intake of the children was 1,400 kcal per day, much lower than the Estimated Energy Requirements of the pertinent age groups. The results also showed inadequate intake of all examined nutrients; of particular concern was the extremely low intake of calcium. On average, the children consumed eight dishes and 25 food items per day. The children supported by Meal Box Delivery consumed more various dishes and food items than the other groups. The percentage of children preferring their current meal support method was the highest in those supported by Meal Box Delivery and the lowest in those supported by Food Delivery. We requested 15 children among the 143 children participating in the survey to draw the scene of their lunch time. The drawings of the children supported by Institutional Foodservice showed more positive scenes than the other groups, especially in terms of human aspects. In conclusion, the overall diet of children under the government-funded meal support program was nutritionally inadequate, although the magnitude of the problems tended to differ by the meal support method. The results could be utilized as basic data for policy and programs regarding the government-funded meal support program for children from low-income families.

병원 영양과의 환자식 식단 관리 전산 프로그램 개발에 관한 연구 (Development of a Computer-assited Patients Menu Planning System for Hospital Dietetics)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a computer-assisted patients menu planning program for hospital dietetics in order to improve the quality of menu for patients and to release managers from repetitive and routine tasks. Using this program, dietitians can spend more time on professional tasks. Moreover, few studies have been done on computer assisted patients menu planning for patients who need special diets for treatment in domestic hospital dietetics, therefore this program could be a great contribution. A 16-bit personal computer compatible with IBM-PC/AT was used. The data base files and processing program were created by Clipper package ver 5.0. This system can collect a number of meals, plan patients menu and computerize nutrient analysis. The future study will develop program(s) for purchasing, inventory control and data correction. The contents of computerized system are summarized as follows. 1. The number of daily meals of special and general diets given to the patients are collected and saved in database. These data were for the monthly list of meal census which could be printed out on the screen and/or the printer. 2. The menu planning was largely consisted of 2 sections. One was for the patients who require special diets and the other was general diet. And the special diets was divided into 6 sub-sections: diabetic, low-salt, low-fat, low-salt/low-protein, low-fat/low-cholesterol and low residue diets. 3. The nutrient analysis was composed of 11 diet. Sections and diebetic diet was divided into 9 sub-sections according to the calorie requirement. The calculated results were compared with the standards which were established by the hospital dietetic department.

유방암 위험평가 단계에 따른 통합적 유방건강관리 프로그램의 효과 (Effects of an Integrated Breast Health Program according to Stages of Breast Cancer Risk Appraisal)

  • Objectives: The current study evaluated the effects of an integrated breast health program according to levels of breast cancer risk appraisal on knowledge on breast cancer, early detection behaviors, and diet patterns and attitudes in Korean healthy women. Method: A nonequivalent control group pre-posttest design was used. A total of 413 women aged 40-59, registering at the Life Long Health Center in two cities, were classified into intervention groups of 179 women and control groups of 234 women. The integrated breast health program included education, counseling on breast cancer, early detection behaviors, and appropriate diet with multimedia and individual practice session using breast models, reflecting characteristics of each level according to levels of risk appraisal. The knowledge on breast cancer, early detection behaviors, and diet were investigated using questionnaires at baseline and three months after intervention. Results: In both normal and borderline-risk group, intervention groups reported significantly higher scores of knowledge on breast cancer and higher stages of BSE behaviors than control groups. Conclusion: The results showed positive effects on knowledge and early detection behaviors of breast cancer in normal and borderline-risk groups. Further studies should investigate longitudinal effects of the intervention program on dietary change.

학교급식이 아동의 우식성 간식품 취급에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Influence of School Lunch Program on the Cariogenic Snack Food Intake of School Chilldren)

  • The objective of school lunch program is make a student to understand the basic knowledge on the diet through improved food patterns. Diet is an important factor in the development of dental caries. Generally, snack foods contain much sugar and cause dental caries to children. The diet education in the school lunch program should involve the control of snack food intake. In this study, the anlysis of influence of school lunch program on the cariogenic snack food intake of school children was carried out. The questionarie was given to 1,441 sixth-grade children of 5 school lunch group and 1,443 sixth-grade children of 5 non-school lunch group in Pusan on the intake of snack foods and toothbrushing after meals. Its were as follows : 1. No differences were observed snack food intake per day between school lunch group and non-school lunch group. 2. The snack food intake frequency at home in school lunch group was more frequent than that of non-school lunch group. However, in school, the result was reverse. 3. No difference was observed the frequency between school lunch group on the intake of cariogenic, foods, detergent foods, protective foods, cariogenic foods alone and cariogenic and detergent foods between meals. 4. The frequency of toothbrushing per day and the ratio of toothbrushing after meals in school lunch group was a little higher than that of non-school lunch group. 5. No difference was observed on the ratio of toothbrushing after snack food intake between school lunch group and non-school lunch group. 6. The influence of school lunch program on the cariogenic food intake in school children was little significant for its goodness. 7. The improvement of education on snack food take and toothbrushing after meals to shool children was recommended.

인터넷 설문을 통하여 조사한 여성의 비만도와 자존감, 섭식요인, 우울감의 상관관계와 다이어트진행에 따른 섭식요인의 변화 (Study about Correlation between BMI, Diet-situation and Psycological Factors: Self-esteem, Depression, Restraint Eating, Disinhibition, and Hunger, using Internet Survey)

  • Objectives : This study examined the association between body mass index(BMI) and psychological factors; self-esteem, depression, restraint eating, disinhibition, and hunger. The difference of TFEQ(restraint eating, disinhibition and hunger) was analyzed in variety of current diet situations. Methods : The research was based on a sample of people who visited our website and submit the result of self test(self-esteem n=3183; TFEQ n=5167; BDI n=2457). Results : Self-esteem and BDI was slightly correlated with BMI. There is negative correlation between restraint eating and BMI and positive correlations were observed between hunger and BMI, and disinhibition and BMI. We studied diet situation and eating habits. We divided the sample into 4 groups in accordance with self-submitted result: non-diet group(n=2806), diet-failed group within 3 months group(n=371), maintaining group after successful-diet(n=233), on-going diet group(n=1757) As to restraint eating, non-diet group showed the lowest score in restraint eating and maintaining group after successful-diet showed the highest. The score in disinhibition and hunger was significantly lower in maintaining group after successful-diet group than one in diet-failed group. Conclusion : These results suggest that it would be essential to treat these psychological factors such as depression and self-esteem in weight loss program. Considering the result in diet-situation and TFEQ, we insist that restraint-eating and disinhibition should be controlled. If these psychological factors were not treated in place, even the successful diet might turn out to be a worse situation like binge-eating
