  • In this paper, the effect of adhesion properties of semiconductive-insulating interface layer of silicone rubber on electrical properties was investigated. The modifications produced on the silicone surface by oxygen plasma were accessed using ATR-FTIR, contact angle and AFM. Adhesion was obtained from T-peel tests of semiconductive layer having different treatment durations. In addition, ac breakdown test was carried out for elucidating the change of electrical property with duration of plasma treatment. From the results, the treatment in the oxygen plasma produced a noticeable increase in surface energy, which can be mainly ascribed to the the creation of O-H and C=O. It is observed that adhesion performance was determined by not surface energy but roughness level of silicone surface. It is found that ac dielectric strength was increased with improving the adhesion between the semiconductive and insulating interface.

  • To realize a robot hand interacting like a human hand, there are many tactile sensors sensing normal force, shear force, torque, shape, roughness and temperature. This sensing signal is essential to manipulate object accurately with robot hand. In particular, slip sensors make manipulation more accurate and breakless to object. Up to now several slip sensors were developed and applied to robot hand. Many of them used complicate algorithm and signal processing with vibration data. In this paper, we developed novel principle slip sensor using separation layer. These two layers are moved from each other when slip occur. Developed sensor can sense slip signal by measuring this relative displacement between two layers. Also our principle makes slip signal decoupled from normal force and shear force without other sensors. The sensor was fabricated using the NBR(acrylo-nitrile butadiene rubber) and the Ecoflex as substrate and a paper as dielectric. To verify our sensor, slip experiment and normal force decoupling test were conducted.

  • In these days $SF_6$ mixtures and alternative gas have been studied because of global warming and liquefying at low temperature and high pressure. At present work the breakdown characteristics of $SF_6/CF_4$ mixture in non-uniform field was performed. The experiments were carried out under positive and negative standard lightning impulse (SLT) voltages. The point-plane electrode was used with 3 mm gap distance in the test chamber. The $SF_6/CF_4$ mixture which contain 20% of $SF_6$ was compared with pure $SF_6$ and $CF_4$ gas. Experimental gas pressure ranged from 0.1 to 0.4 MPa. The breakdown voltage under negative SLI is higher than the breakdown voltage under positive voltage. And the breakdown voltage of $SF_6$ 20%, $CF_4$ 80% mixture is similar to that of pure $SF_6$.

  • GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear) is important power apparatus which have strong dielectric strength, supply electric power and is a part of the power system. Most substation type is configured as GIS. Recently, because of continuous increasement of GIS demand resulted from high quality & big capacity of electric power, the necessity of the preventive & diagnosis system is being expanded gradually. GIS partial discharge occurred on the UHF band is detected effectively by the method to IEC 60270 that recommend to be able to detect the apparent minimum discharge, 5 pC. Additionally, the UHF sensor should be installed to detect PD signal if Partial discharge signal, 5 pC occur in every part of GIS. Currently PD diagnosis system applying UHF sensor for GIS with various voltage level like 154 kV, 345 kV, 765 kV have been operated. And it is necessary to measure and analyze insulation breakdown phenomenon of inside GIS exactly. In this paper, we proposed Fat-dipole patch UHF sensor that is developed and more sensitive, excellent wide-range characteristic than the exising UHF sensor. And we performed KERI (Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute) reference test, which showed the excellent result for the all tests.

  • A pilot-scale experiment for the treatment of red tide in the enclosure was done in sea area of Shandong Province, P. R. China on Aug. 25, 2002. With the method of strong dielectric barrier discharge in microgap, $O_2$in air and $H_2O$ in seawater are ionized and dissociated into large numbers of OHㆍradicals, and then dissolved into a part of seawater to form OHㆍsolution of high concentration. With OH' concentration of 0.68mg/L, the kill efficiencies of 29 kinds of red tide organisms such as Chaetoceros lorenzianus and so on reached 99.89%, in which the kill efficiencies of bacterium and vibrio were 100%, and that of Gonyaulax cysts and Prei. Cysts were up to 100%. At the same time, the content of chlorophyll-a was decreased into the lowest limit of test. DO saturation of seawater was greatly increased to 100% because the residual OHㆍradical was decomposed into $H_2O$ and $O_2$after 20 minutes, Therefore the treatment of red tide using OHㆍradicals is a kind of advanced oxidation technology, which realizes zero pollution, zero emission and zero residual in the process of the production of OHㆍradicals and the treatment of red tide.

  • This paper was shown water properly conversion and removal characteristic of escherichia coli for discharge tube with $ZrO_2$ beads. At the result of the removal characteristic experiments of escherichia coli using the discharge tube with $ZrO_2$ beads, because the electric field is also increased when input voltage is increased, the removal characteristic of escherichia coli was appeared relation connection to input voltage. And if a passing number of test water in discharge tube with $ZrO_2$ beads is increased, the removal ratio of escherichia coli is to be increased because passing number of electric field section is increased. And if diameter of $ZrO_2$ beads is increased, the removal time of escherichia coli is to be decreased because dielectric polalization of $ZrO_2$ beads. Also, the removal ratio of escherichia coli of the discharge tube with $ZrO_2$ beads. is appeared higher than the removal ratio of the discharge tube without $ZrO_2$ beads. And a salutation point of ozone and $H_2O_2$ generation density inner water was appeared near 60[min].

  • 1 mol% $Li_2O$ excess $0.9(Na_{0.52}K_{0.48})NbO_3-0.1LiTaO_3$ lead-free piezoelectric multilayer ceramic actuators were investigated to determine their aging properties. To reduce the thermal aging behavior, we applied a rectified unipolar electric field of 5 kV/mm to the specimen to accelerate the electric aging behavior. By employing a rectified unipolar electric field for the piezoelectric actuators, we could remove undesirable heating from the relaxation current in the motion of the ferroelectric domain. To accelerate the aging test, the applied electric fields had a frequency of 900 Hz. To have enough time for charging and discharging, we employed an accurate time constant to design the equivalent circuit model for the aging tester. To extract exact aging behavior, we measured the pseudo-piezoelectric coefficient before and after the aging process. We also measured the electro-mechanical coupling coefficient, the frequency-dependent dielectric permittivity, and the impedance to compare with fresh and aged specimen.

  • Silver has the highest electrical conductivity of all metals and consequently this property is an attractive feature which makes it a leading candidate for use in electronic devices. The research conducted was focused primarily on the development of a process for obtaining a deposited silver-coating onto alumina, for applications related to electrical-conducting devices and, ancillarily, catalysts. Alumina balls and plane substrates were utilized for the investigation. The coating process employed an aqueous ammoniacal silver-nitrate electrolytes with a formaldehyde solution as the reductant. Modifying additives-an activator which would be expected to promote good deposition-characteristics onto the (dielectric) substrate and an inhibitor which would obviate homogeneous reduction (precipitation) of silver was observed when the activator-containing silver-electrolyte reductant constituents were combined. However, the silver-electrolyte/reductant system with inhibitor could be employed (at 8$0^{\circ}C$) to achieve a viable (subject to future research optimization) coating on alumina. The influence of the processing temperature on the deposition process was delineated during the course of the research. The morphology of the deposited-silver on the alumina balls was assessed by SEM imaging. A tape-peel test was employed, with the plane substrates, to semi-quantitatively characterize the adhesion to the alumina.

  • A multi-point touch input sensor having different sizes or different capacitance touch points connected by only one pair of signal transmission lines was fabricated using a polyimide film coated with a thin copper plate. The capacitance increases with the decrease in the number of sheets of fabric spacers placed between the two sheets of the polyimide film. Therefore, the touch input sensor could be manufactured without fabric spacers, which was possible by the action of the polyimide film as a dielectric material in the capacitor. On the multi-point touch sensor, higher capacitance was obtained when pressing wider-area touch points with 10mm to 25mm diameter on average. However, the capacitance of a system comprising two sheets of touch sensors was considerably low, causing a serious overlap of the capacitance values according to the data collected from the reliability test. Although the capacitance values could be increased by stacking several sheets of touch sensors, the overlap of data was still observed. After reducing the size of all touch points to 10mm and stacking up to eight sheets of sensors, reliable and consistent capacitance data was obtained. Five different capacitance signals could be induced in the sensors by pushing touch points simultaneously.

  • the Cu/polyimide system is known to be the best candidate for a multilevel interconnection system due to the low resistance of Cu and to the low dielectric constant of polyimide respectively. Ion beam mixing of Cu(40nm)/polyimide was carried out at room temperature with 80 keV Ar+ and N2+ form $1.5\times$1015 to 15$\times$1015 ions/cm2. The quantitative adhesion strength was measured by a standard scratch test. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and x-ray emission spectrocopy are employed to investigate the chemical bonds and the interlayer compound formation of the films Cu/Al/polyimide showed more adhesion strength than Cu/polyimide after ion beam mixing and N2+ ions are more effective in the adhesion enhancement than Ar+ with the same sample geometry. The XES results shows the formation of interlayer compound of CuAl2O4 which can reflect more adhesive Cu/Al/polyimide which has not been reported previously. The latter results is understood by the fact that N2+ ions produce more pyridinelike moiety, amide group and tertiary amine moiety whcih are known as adhesion promotors.
