Analysis on the Temperature Distribution Characteristics of Insulating oil of Transformer Using the Vegetable oil and Mineral oil (식물성 절연유와 광유가 사용된 유입변압기의 온도분포 특성)

  • Most transformer use insulating and cooling fluids derived from petroleum crude oil, but mineral oil is some possibility of environmental pollution and fire with explosion. vegetable oil fluids extracted from seed has superior biodegradation and fire-resistant properties including an exceptionally high fire point enhancing fire safety. In this study, it is aimed at the practicality of substituting natural ester dielectric fluid for mineral oil in liquid insulation system of transformers. As a rise in coil winding temperature has a direct influence on transformer life time, it is important to evaluate the temperature rise of coil winding in vegetable oil in comparison with mineral oil. Three transformers for the test are designed with 10KVA, 13.2KV, one phase unit. The temperature are directly measured in insulating oil of these transformers with the two sorts of natural ester and mineral oil dielectric fluid respectively. Temperature of vegetable oil transformers was similar to temperature of mineral oil transformer in the same design at 80% load and above.

  • The non-controlled closing of High-voltage SF6 gas circuit breaker can cause transient current and overvoltage in the field. The controlled closing technology is an effective way to reduce transient current and voltage, prevent equipment failures, and improve power quality. For the development of controlled closing, it is obviously necessary to determine the withstand voltage between arc contacts of High-voltage SF6 gas circuit breaker in making operation. This paper focuses on decrease of pressure and density of SF6 gas that can affect withstand voltage between arc contacts in making operation. The dielectric strength between arc contacts could be improved by minimizing the decrement of pressure and density of SF6 gas obtained by simulation and test and moreover the rate of decrease of dielectric strength (RDDS) of arc contacts could be foreseen.

  • This paper shows property conversion of water and removing characteristics of Escherichia coli for discharge tube with $ZrO_2$ beads. At the result of the removal characteristic experiments of Escherichia coli using the discharge tube with $ZrO_2$ beads, because the electric field is also increased when input voltage is increased, the removal characteristic of Escherichia coli was appeared relation connection to input voltage. And if a passing number of test water in discharge tube with $ZrO_2$beads is increased, the removal ratio of Escherichia coli is to be increased because passing number of electric field section is increased. And if diameter of $ZrO_2$beads is increased, the removal time of Escherichia coli is to be decreased because dielectric polalization of $ZrO_2$beads. Also, the removal ratio of Escherichia coli of the discharge tube with $ZrO_2$beads. is appeared higher than the removal ratio of the discharge tube without $ZrO_2$beads. And a satulation punt of ozone and $H_2$ $O_2$generation density inner water was appeared near 60[min].

  • Nano-sized inverted domain dots in ferroelectric materials have potential application in ultrahigh-density rewritable data storage systems. Herein, a data storage system is presented based on scanning non-linear dielectric microscopy and a thin film of ferroelectric single-crystal lithium tantalite. Through domain engineering, we succeeded to form an smallest artificial nano-domain single dot of 5.1 nm in diameter and artificial nano-domain dot-array with a memory density of 10.1 Tbit/$inch^2$ and a bit spacing of 8.0 nm, representing the highest memory density for rewritable data storage reported to date. Sub-nanosecond (500psec) domain switching speed also has been achieved. Next, long term retention characteristic of data with inverted domain dots is investigated by conducting heat treatment test. Obtained life time of inverted dot with the radius of 50nm was 16.9 years at $80^{\circ}C$. Finally, actual information storage with low bit error and high memory density was performed. A bit error ratio of less than $1\times10^{-4}$ was achieved at an areal density of 258 Gbit/inch2. Moreover, actual information storage is demonstrated at a density of 1 Tbit/$inch^2$.

  • In this paper, we present techniques to manufacture color electronic ink for multi-color electrophoretic display implementation. The charged color pigments have been prepared to have superior affinity for dielectric fluid. White $TiO_2$ nanoparticles were modified with poly(methyl methacrylate) copolymer for a microencapsulated electrophoretic display system, in order to reduce the density mismatch between nanoparticles and dielectric medium. These color balls and white pigment particle suspensions were microencapsulated through the typical microencapsulation technique. We fabricate the microcapsules to the single layer on flexible ITO substrate to test the multi-color electrophoretic display application.

  • With the increasing reliability of analysis schemes and the dramatically increased calculating speed, the computer simulation has become and indispensable process to predict the interruption capacity of circuit breakers. Generally, circuit breakers have to possess both the small current and large current interruption abilities and the circuit breaker designers need to evaluate its capacities to save the time and the expense. The analysis of small current and the large current interruption performances have been considered separately because the phenomena occurring in a interrupter are quite different. To analyze the dielectric recovery after large current interruption many physical phenomena such as heat transfer, convection and arc radiation, the nozzle ablation, the ionization of high temperature SF(sub)6 gas, the electric and themagnetic forces and so forth mush be considered. However, in the analysis of small current interruption performance only the cold gas flow analysis needs to be carried out because the capacitive current is to small that the influence from the current can be neglected. In this paper, an empirical equation which is obtained from a series of tests to estimate the dielectric recovery strength has been applied to a real circuit breaker. The results of analysis have been compared with the test results and the reliability has been investigated.

  • AC-PDP는 구조적으로 2장의 유리, 유전체, 전극으로 구성된다. AC-PDP의 전기적특성은 유전체의 물성에 크게 좌우된다. AC-PDP의 유전체는 주변 온도와 주파수에 따라 유전율 및 유전손실 특성이 달라지므로 온도와 주파수에 따른 유전물질의 물성변화와 panel의 전기적특성에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 온도와 주파수에 따른 AC-PDP내 유전체의 유전율 및 유전손실에 대한 특성에 대해 알아보고 4인치 test 패널을 제작하여 온도와 주파수에 따른 panel의 전기적특성 관계를 살펴보았다.

Design and Manufacture of LTE3G / WLAN/ LTE4G Tri-band Antenna System for Mobile Communication Applications

  • In this paper, we propose the method to improve the performance of the antenna system that contains three bands, such as Lte3G, WLAN and Lte4G. This antenna has an advantage that can cover the three different frequency bands 2.1GHz, 2.4GHz and 2.6GHz through one antenna design. The design and simulations are done using CST Microwave Studio 2014 program. The antenna is designed by using the FR-4 (lossy) substrate with the dielectric constant of er=4.3 and dielectric loss tangent 0.025. The substrate dimensions are the following; Thickness[h] is 1.6mm, Length is 90mm, and Width is 40mm. The ground is designed by using the PEC material with h=0.035mm. The patch is designed by using the copper with h=0.035mm. In the near future, we will fabricate the antenna, which we have designed, and then apply this antenna to the mobile communication system. And we will test this mobile communication system for the diverse environments.

Luminous Characteristics of AC-PDP with Ridged Dielectric Layer in Various Xe Contents (능선형상의 유전체 구조를 갖는 AC-PDP의 Xe 함량 변화에 대한 발광특성)

  • In this paper, we suggest a new front panel structure with ridged front panel dielectric layer and hollow gap. The proposed structure can decrease a driving voltage and increase Xe content due to strong electric fields. In the experiment, we have used 6" test panel with 10 %, 15 %, 20 %, 30 % and 50 % Xe contents and 450 torr gas pressure. When comparing with a conventional structure in Xe 10 %, the proposed structure with same Xe content decreased a firing and sustain voltage by about 74 V and 79 V, also the luminance and luminous efficacy of proposed structure with 50 % Xe content were improved by about 33 % and 50.9 %..9 %.

Design and Fabrication of NRD Guide Filter using Inductive Iris (유도성 아이리스를 이용한 NRD 가이드 필터의 설계 및 제작)

  • In this paper, NRD guide band pass filter with newly designed inductive iris structure is proposed and analyzed with its test results. In case of common NRD guide filter with air gap coupled structure, it was not easy to fabricate and process or each NRD guide dielectric resonator blocks using PTFE. However, in this our research, each dielectric resonator fabricated in a single NRD guide is coupled with inductive iris located on metal plates. The structure is suitable for mass production of a precise and reliable millimeter-wave filter applications. As a result of measurements, designed NRD guide inductive iris filter has superior performance. The pass band is 38.66~39.06 MHz with 400 MHz bandwidth, insertion loss is about 1.4 dB and return loss is below -18 dB.
