미소구멍의 가공 깊이에 따른 미세방전 가공특성 (Micro-Hole Machining Using MEDM According to Machining Depth)

  • In order to make a deep and precise micro-hole, electrode wear and clearance between the electrode and the workpiece are important parameters using micro-electrical discharge machining. In this study, experiments were carried out to show the characteristics of electrode wear and radial clearance with respect to the depth of machined hole. Electrode wear varied with respect to the depth of hole. With deeper machined hole, bigger clearance was observed. Also it was found that the diameter of electrode influences machining characteristics of deep holes.

  • This experimental study is to investigate the intermittent spray characteristics of a multi-hole nozzle in a heavy-duty DI diesel engine. Multi 8 hole$(d_n=0.25mm)$, Multi 3 hole$(d_n=0.42)$ and Sing hole nozzle$(d_n=0.25mm)$ were used in this experiment. By using the 2-D PDPA(phase Doppler particle analyzer), the droplet diameter and the velocity of a diesel spray injected intermittently from the multi and the single-hole nozzle into a still ambient were measured. In order to calculate the mean values such as mean velocity, SMD, AMD etc. and to analyze the intermittent characteristics, the time-window of 0.15ms were applied. In the spray, the small droplet$(D<10{\mu}m)$ was regarded as an air flow, and the correlation between the fuel droplet$(10{\mu}m and the air (low was examined. The normalized axial droplet-air relative velocity of the 8 hole, the 3 hole and the single hole nozzle was evaluated as 0.081, 0.067, 0.06 and in case of the radial droplet-air relative velocity, the normalized. value is 0.014, 0.013 and 0.008 respectively.

  • The present study has been conducted to investigate convective heat/mass transfer in the cooling passage with bleed holes. The rotating square channel has 40.0 mm hydraulic diameter and the bleed holes on the leading surface of the channel. The hole diameter of bleed hole is 4.5mm and its spacing is ( p/d:4.9) about five times of hole diameter. Exit mass flow rate through bleed holes is $10\%$ of the main mass flow rate and relation number is changed form 0.0 to 0.4. A naphthalene sublimation technique is employed to determine the detailed local heat transfer coefficients using the heat and mass transfer analogy The cooling performance is influenced by exit mass flow rate through bleed holes and Coriolis force of rotating channel for fixed Reynolds number. The heat transfer on the leading surface is decreased due to Coriolis force. However the total heat transfer is enhanced around holes on the leading surface because of trapping flow by bleeding.

  • The bending phenomenon has been known to be occurred by the difference of velocity at the die exit. The difference of velocity at the die exit section can be obtained by the different velocity of billets through the multi-hole container. The difference of velocity at the die exit can be controlled by the two variables, the one of them is the different velocity of extrusion punch through the multi-hole container, the other is the difference of hole diameter of muliti-hole container. In this paper the difference of hole diameter is applied. So it can bend during extruding products because of the different amount of two billets when billets would be bonded in the porthole dies cavity. And the bending curvature can be controlled by the size of holes. The experiments with aluminum material for the curved tube product had been done for circular or rectangular curved tube section. The results of the experiments show that the curved tube product can be formed by the extru-bending process without the defects such as distortion of section and thickness change of wall of tube and folding and wrinkling. The curvature of product can be controlled by shape of cross section and the difference of billet diameters. And it is known that the bonding and extruding and bending process can be done simultaneously in the die cavity by the experiments that rectangular hollow curved tubes could be extruded by porthole dies with four different size billets made of aluminum material. And it shows that bending phenomenon can happen during extruding with for different billets from the analysis by DEFORM-3D.

Suggesting a new testing device for determination of tensile strength of concrete

  • A compression to tensile load transforming (CTT) device was developed to determine indirect tensile strength of concrete material. Before CTT test, Particle flow code was used for the determination of the standard dimension of physical samples. Four numerical models with different dimensions were made and were subjected to tensile loading. The geometry of the model with ideal failure pattern was selected for physical sample preparation. A concrete slab with dimensions of $15{\times}19{\times}6cm$ and a hole at its center was prepared and subjected to tensile loading using this special loading device. The ratio of hole diameter to sample width was 0.5. The samples were made from a mixture of water, fine sand and cement with a ratio of 1-0.5-1, respectively. A 30-ton hydraulic jack with a load cell applied compressive loading to CTT with the compressive pressure rate of 0.02 MPa per second. The compressive loading was converted to tensile stress on the sample because of the overall test design. A numerical modeling was also done to analyze the effect of the hole diameter on stress concentrations of the hole side along its horizontal axis to provide a suitable criterion for determining the real tensile strength of concrete. Concurrent with indirect tensile test, the Brazilian test was performed to compare the results from two methods and also to perform numerical calibration. The numerical modeling shows that the models have tensile failure in the sides of the hole along the horizontal axis before any failure under shear loading. Also the stress concentration at the edge of the hole was 1.4 times more than the applied stress registered by the machine. Experimental Results showed that, the indirect tensile strength was clearly lower than the Brazilian test strength.

COMPUTER CONTROLLED PLANTING SYSTEM FOR MULCHING CULTIVATION USING POLUETHYLENE FILM

  • A precision planting system using computer controlled technology for mulching cultivation was developed and tested . The system consisting of a micro-computer, several optical fiber sensors and control actuators realized the mechanization of the precision planting operation. The film hole positions, existences of a seed on shutter were detected and the planting speed was measured. The shutter opening mechanism and a seed metering device driven by a stepping motor were controlled, automatically . The planting timing of the shutter opening mechanism were analyzed from a video camera motion analysis, theoretically. The results showed a sufficient accuracy of a seed planted into the center a film hole with a variety of planting speeded. The gravity point positions in film hole of seeds planted by the system just were within the area of +-5mm of the hole center when the hole diameter was 40mm.

  • Recently, the use of aluminum components in the reduction of the vehicle weight to improve fuel efficiency and reduce carbon dioxide emissions has increased. In the aluminum machining cutting process, hole-making is an important process that accounts for 30% of the machining process. Although many studies have been conducted using the continuously advancing hole processing technology, studies on the machinability of the tool depending on the type of chuck on the workpiece are still lacking. In this study, the machining performance of cemented carbide burnishing drills was compared and analyzed according to chuck type. The burnishing drill was used to create a hole in the AL6061 workpiece, and the surface roughness and dimensional accuracy of the hole were examined according to the type of chuck while monitoring the spindle load.

  • Fabrication of Anodic aluminum oxide under DC vias condition has been studied. When bias and time of anodic aluminum oxide process change, the hole distance and diameter size change. Comparison of fabricated AAO between AC vias and DC vias condition has been studied in this experiment. The first and second anodization of one aluminum is done by using DC and AC power supplier. And first and second anodization of another aluminum is done by DC power supplier. The size of the aluminum is $1cm{\times}3cm$, and second anodic aluminum oxide process takes about 45min. It is found that the hexagonal shape appears on the surface of the AAO. AC power source can fabricate aao which have a nano hole array. We can see that the hole on the surface of the AC vias has a better rounded hole than DC vias AAO. we need more data so we can get characteristic about AC power generated AAO.

원심분리기용 스크류의 블레이드 및 원공형상변화에 따른 응력 및 진동해석 (Stress and Vibration Analysis with respect to the change of the Shape of Screw Blade and the Hole for Centrifuge)

  • In this study, we carried out the finite element analysis for the screw of centrifuge that is the weakest part of the centrifuge for sewage management. Centrifugal force caused by rotation with velocity of 4000rpm was applied at the screw. Structural analysis was done with respect to the change of the ratio of blade pitch($R_P$), shaft diameter($R_D$) and extended hole($R_E$). When the area of circular hole is equal to that of extended holes, maximum equivalent stresses in the screw with circular and extended circular hole were compared. And then natural frequency analysis was executed for the same model. Three mode shapes were used to explain the vibration characteristics of each screw. Convergence study was accomplished fur more accurate results.
